Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte Hotel

"This was our first holiday as a family. We had selected Verdura due to its hospitality reputation particularly with children and it exceeded expectations. Sicilians in general were so incredibly welcoming and enamoured by our baby. The staff of Verdura went above and beyond at every step. On arrival we had a warm welcome and were brought straight to our restaurant booking that they had held for us despite being late from the airport. They treated us like special guests and were amazing with our baby daughter. Although I will do separate reviews for the restaurants the food at Osteria and Amare was outstanding and the service matched the quality of the food and drinks. Our room had a beautiful view, staff were keen to accommodate all our needs. We were provided with so many necessary items for a baby. These included a travel cot, mattress and bedding, a steriliser, a baby bath tub, wipes, nappy bin, bottle warmer, play mat, cuddly toy and baby slippers. They even gave us soap and a sponge on request to wash our bottles before sterilising. Breakfast was lovely, we were always greeted as a three with our baby enjoying the extra warm welcome from the staff. There was no question the hotel resort was stunning but it was the staff that made it the most hospitable holiday we have ever had. They were so friendly and accommodating. There were too many names to remember but Claudia set the tone with the warmest of welcomes and Filippo gave us a lovely cocktail experience to end our stay. We will never forget our first family holiday and hope to return soon."

"We had a 2 night stay booked, and were dissapointed with the location of the hotel right on the road, the view of the harbour from the car park a few minutes away was obstructed with metal barriers and gave a bit of an industrial feel to the area. The pictures on the website of the harbour do not include the large concrete structures you can see from the first floor windows, perhaps a nicer view is possible from the rooms with a balcony. We did not have the energy to walk up the steps to Sciacca centre as it was extremely hot and there was little choice of places to eat around the hotel. With the temperatures in the mid thirties the failure of the air conditioning to work properly in our 2 rooms was very uncomfortable and we did not stay the 2nd night. Perhaps again had we been in the newer rooms i had read about it would have been a different experience. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean."

"Hidden in the heart of the old town La Corte Normanna is a true gem full of pleasant details, Our room was very spacious and confortable, equipped with all extras including a full kitchen, table and chairs. Excellent quality coffee and water provided. We felt like at home from minute one. Nino, our host, could not have done more to makes us feel welcome. With parking in the above square and just at walking distance from the historical richness of the city, La Corte Normanna is a great place where hide and rest from the busy street life and beaming sun. One thing: it will keep you fit! 125 steps of joy to the sea front. Enjoy it all. We did!"

"Silvano and the team are simply first class. The place is lovely - perfectly located, clean, well thought through in design and perfect for taking in the old town and port. Acceptable public parking - either free or €1/hour am/pm -free overnight, is nearby. If only more places were as good as this."
