"If you like quirky places with a personality I’d recommend this place. Nice big garden with tables and chairs, an old school bar area and yummy breakfast in a beautifully laid out dining room. Even tho the communal areas are a little dated (which I love!) the actual bedrooms are modern, bright and clean. Allison checked us in and as soon as we met her she made us feel so welcome. She went above and beyond for us, we will 100% be back just to see her! What a fantastic lady!!"

"You might have an idea of what to expect from a hotel stay: to be greeted at the front desk, to have a bar and a breakfast service on the premises, to stay in a room which is serviced with fresh towels and clean linen... There's none of that here. We stayed for a week and some days saw no staff (there's a webcam in reception). There were tea and coffee making facilities in our room when we arrived but this was never replenished, the towels were never changed, the bed was never changed; the curtain was hanging off the rail; the bar downstairs was never opened. The website claims that breakfast can be booked for £10 per person but good luck finding anyone to book it with. There are a number of very pleasant hotels along Queens Road but sadly this isn't one of them."

Bardzo blisko plaży, która była idealna i tak spokojna, a także lokalne miasto, ponownie było tak ładne. "Just had a great 3 night stay on the Isle of Wight at the Richmond bnb in Shanklin. Very clean tidy and spacious. Breakfast ranged from full english to continental, in fact all good. Mark and Cass were very welcoming and helpful, and have got the hospitality balance just right. Close to the main street for amenities and a brief walk to the historic Old Village with plenty of quaint pubs/places to eat. The sea front is also a short pleasant walk, just around the corner, with more attractions. Enjoyed our stay on the Island and found all the people we interacted with very friendly and relaxed. Would definitely go back and stay at the Richmond."

"Lovely hotel, friendly staff, perfectly situated close to the beach and the Old Village. A small amount of free parking on site. Very impressed with the facilities inside the hotel - including indoor swimming pool, hot tub & sauna. Be careful with your choice of room, by selecting a non-sea view, standard room for 2 x people we were allocated an accessible room right next to reception/main entrance on ground floor, which was really noisy, with very little privacy. Such a shame as the rest of our experience there was so good."

"A Lovely Stay with Wonderful Staff We recently stayed at this B&B in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, and overall had a lovely stay. The staff were absolutely amazing, so welcoming, friendly and helpful, which really made a difference to our experience. The gardens outside were beautiful, and the downstairs decor was lovely, creating a really pleasant atmosphere. There were, however, a few areas where we felt improvements could be made. The bedrooms could benefit from a little updating, and we were disappointed that the bar closed at 5pm. We understand this is due to staffing costs, but it would have been nice to enjoy a drink in the evening. Although the B&B is rated as 4-star accommodation, we personally felt that the rooms and facilities were more in keeping with a 3-star rating. We don’t want to take away from the hard work of the wonderful staff, who really were a credit to the establishment. With a little investment in the bedrooms and some additional evening facilities, this could be an even better place to stay. Thank you for making us feel so welcome."
