While you'd normally visit a palace and only have to follow a route, here you could explore and go anywhere."

Communication for check-in and check-out was smooth, with quick responses from the friendly host. Despite arriving early, the host graciously allowed me to leave my bag for a few hours, showcasing their warm hospitality. I highly recommend MouraLua for a comfortable and welcoming stay in Sintra."

But I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel: no welcome guests upon arrival, no explanation about the hotel, leaky windows, ceilings, some areas neglected, definitely showing their age, the men's sauna didn't work, the whirlpool didn't work, the swimming pool has a maximum depth of 90 cm, the room furnishings are very basic, no beach bag provided, not even upon request, hardly any toiletries, no umbrella, no tour of the hotel grounds, not even upon request, and so on and so forth. The breakfast is very good, but the rest is at best a 3-4 star level. In short: if you're out golfing all day and only come to the hotel for breakfast and dinner, then it's okay."

"We would have loved to have given five stars - the hotel (really a guest house) has beautiful grounds, lovely staff (thank you Armie), very good breakfasts and is a good value option in Sintra. Our problem was in the room that we chose - we knew it was a small double without TV, safe, fridge etc…bit the air con was poor, the WiFi patchy and the shower tiny. With a better room, we would have had an outstanding stay."

"We stayed here our last night of a 10-day visit to Portugal and absolutely loved it. We had a fabulous ocean view room that was very spacious. After hiking around in the heat for a while, being able to cool off in the pool was great. Very close walk to local restaurants. We went to one recommended by the hotel and it was great. We used it as a base to visit Sintra. Also nice to have parking. Great place to end our trip. I would highly recommend this place."

"After going to Cabo da Roca, we arrived at the hotel about 45 minutes later. The entrance was not obvious, but there was no problem following the navigation. Very close to the famous Azenhar do Mar beach and sea view restaurants. The staff at Valley House were very kind. Seeing that there were so many of us, they helped us move up the stairs. Breakfast is simple and delicious."
