The whole family with the elderly and children stayed in Qichen, and the experience exceeded expectations! The courtyard is spacious and safe, the children can run freely, the room space is sufficient, the bed is comfortable to sleep, the hygiene is particularly in place, and the elderly are very satisfied. The housekeeper prepared fruit intimately, took the initiative to help carry large luggage, planned the easy parent-child play route in detail, and avoided the crowded crowd. The homestay is quiet and not noisy, the quality of rest is very good, not far from the ancient city attractions, and travel is labor-saving. The whole is warm and homey, the whole family likes it very much, and the first choice for family travel is Qichen Boutique B&B!

If you want a more authentic experience than staying in a fancy hotel, this is your place. Mrs Liu (sp?) was so lovely and helpful. She speaks a bit of English and is very fast on the translation apps for what she doesn’t know. She gave us a map of the Ancient City and explained where we should visit. Every day she gave us water bottles. We stayed 2 nights. You can experience a kang bed here, in a cozy room in a quaint courtyard. It was quite firm but still comfortable. There is air con which was needed when we were there. The bathroom is small but we found that everything didn’t get wet, despite the small size of the room. The inn is on the “taxi-bus” route just off South Street. As it is a block from the Main Street it is significantly quieter as the honking of “taxi-buses” doesn’t happen as much in the alleyways. Just be careful to walk on the sides of the road as the mopeds and taxi-buses are electric so quiet, except for the honking which is loud and constant, and they drive quite fast for the size and busyness of the streets. There is plenty of food places just a short walk away from the hotel. The ancient city was a lot more touristy than we had expected. You need to prearrange with the innkeeper to organise a “taxi-bus” to pick you up from the South Gate. Regular cars are not allowed inside the city wall. We were dropped by the DiDi but it is too far and busy to walk with luggage to the inn. Mrs Liu and her husband helped us out with their mopeds. Not many “taxi-bus” drivers know the inn as it is a smaller private hotel, so make sure you have the address printed out to show them. The taxi-bus is 10RMB pp per ride and you can flag them down anywhere on the streets they are allowed on, but they may not want to go where you want to go, so just flag another one until you get one that agrees. You scan the drivers QR code to pay. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Pingyao Yunshu Inn.

這次在平遙古城住的這家山西老院院子非常有韻味，古色古香，房間也乾淨整潔。老闆人很熱情，幫我們提行李，還給了我們很多遊玩和美食的建議。位置很好，在古城裡麪，去各個景點都很方便。我們住的土炕房，既特別又舒適。強烈建議體驗一下在院子裏喝茶發呆的慢生活，這才是平遙古城的正確打開方式。

Beautiful traditional Chinese-style building. Very nice room with air conditioning. Quiet place to rest well. And at the same time, it's close to everything; you can walk everywhere. I arrived for two nights and stayed for a week! The family is lovely, and the manager helps you with everything. Always very helpful and polite. I will definitely return! We stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property. Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it And it does feel and look like a traditional house. You feel you are going back in time. Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs. He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city. Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions. Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him. Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm. On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour. Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class. The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk. The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

Zajazd mieści się w zabytkowym budynku z czasów dynastii Qing. Jest bardzo oryginalny i zabytkowy. Niektóre meble i przedmioty są pozostałościami po dawnych czasach. Znajduje się przy alejce w centralnej części miasta, która jest cicha i wygodna do zwiedzania gdziekolwiek. Szef był bardzo entuzjastyczny i nawet jeździł na elektrycznym osiołku, aby pomóc nam odebrać bagaże. Podczas odprawy przedstawił także trasy podróży i zalecenia dotyczące jedzenia. . Trochę niezadowalające jest to, że cena wzrosła czterokrotnie podczas Święta Wiosny, ale sprzęt i usługi nie wzrosły. Na przykład ciepła woda była zbyt mała, aby wziąć prysznic i nie zapewniono kapci je samodzielnie. Sieć w pokoju narożnym była bardzo słaba, a grzejnik był zimny w ciągu dnia. Dlatego mój pobyt był trochę niezadowalający.

這次平遙之行，非常榮幸選擇了榮耀民宿，雖然在古城外，但出行超方便，步行5-6分鐘就到古城入口，還免去了古城內交通管制的麻煩。房間乾淨又温馨，床品軟乎乎的，晚上一沾枕頭就睡着。民宿老闆是一名二十年的退役老兵，服務超熱情，不僅幫忙規劃路線，還推薦了很多本地人常去的小店，價格非常優惠才幾十塊錢，真的是物超所值。特別推薦大家可以入住體驗

The host were nice and friendly. They speak no English but they use and app for basic translations. The room is good value for money. Modern and clean, with good architectural finishes. They don't provide towels, shampoo and so. No air conditioner either, thou I asked for a fan and they gave it to me and it was perfect like that. Location wasn't so easy to find, the access road can be either dusty or muddy depending on the weather. It's about 15 minutes walk to the north gate of ancient Pingyao city wall. I would recommend specially to couples as it's the same price as for solo travellers. (I guess the price is per room) They didn't ask for a deposit as written in their policies, which is a plus. I attach a plan explaining how to best get there. Recommended.
