„I recently stayed at Amari Colombo in Colombo, and overall I had a wonderful experience. I was especially impressed with Nishel. Despite his young age, he was extremely professional, respectful, and attentive to our needs. He immediately helped us find the most suitable room for our stay and handled everything efficiently. Upekha was also very helpful and kind throughout our visit, always ready to assist with a smile. The only negative point was the early check-in policy. We arrived around 5:00 a.m. and were asked to pay an additional $150, which felt quite expensive and significantly higher than the average nightly rate listed on various booking platforms. Other than that, everything was excellent. The view was stunning, the rooms were spotless, and the breakfast was rich and delicious, offering many options from both local and international cuisine. I would definitely choose to stay here again. Thank you for the warm hospitality!”

„Words can’t express how grateful I am to the team at Shangri La Colombo. I was travelling with my grandma who is 91 years old so I wanted to book our stay at a place that I could count on . I have experienced the hospitality of Shangri-La at other parts of the world and I was hopeful that it would be the same. They did not disappoint. Right from Masood at the door to Dileka at breakfast and Waruna at the Concierge , our every need was met, and then some! It’s fully accessible if you have reduced mobility , and everyone who works there is constantly thinking ahead, so that you feel comfortable. The location is beautiful, the food is amazing and the hospitality is truly exceptional. I’m very grateful to the entire team for ensuring we had a memorable holiday.”

„Hotel is in the heart of Colombo and very prominent location in Sri Lanka. I love the garden view. Food is excellent choices. Staff everyone is very courteous and well organise and presentable. All staff are consistently helpful. Special thanks to the restaurant staff Kamani ,Randil and Imesh. I will definitely comeback to this hotel when my next visit. „Visited Colombo during off-peak season so we managed to visit the city with less crowd. Views from any sea-facing room is incredible for its price - slight blocking with 2 towers in front but you can get a better unblocked view if you go for Premium tier rooms. I have to commend reception staff Anjala, who managed upsell me a Premium Seaview Room from a Superior Seaview Room. He took the time to explain the differences between each tier, accommodated to my budget constraints, and brought me to each room (empty ones of course) for a viewing before committing to an upgrade. After hearing that I was there on honeymoon (my husband would only arrive later), he relayed that to the rest of the team who took care of us wonderfully throughout our 4-day stay. Overall, room is clean and roomy, perfect for business calls with fast and reliable in-room wifi. Only downside is their TV doesn't have Netflix or Airplay, only Miracast for Android/Windows users. Tip for travellers: tell your driver this used to be Movenpick hotel - they will know where to drop you off.”

„Stayed for a night after landing in Colombo. Hasini checked us in and was very friendly and welcoming; we were given all the information we would need during our stay. Large hotel with well kept rooms. Highlight of the stay had to be the breakfast buffet! The quantity and quality of options were amazing. Wish we had stayed another night so we could've enjoyed the buffet once more.”

„Sheer British Colonial history setting from 150 years ago. Immaculately observed, including the lowering of the Sri Lankan flag every day at 6pm, accompanied by a Scottish bagpiper!! Excellent location, close to the city centre but just enough away, right be the sea, in front of the iconic Galle Face Green. The pool is sourced from the sea water all the time. Good size, good facilities. Clean. Sunset views exceptional. Food available in several locations in the hotel, including the popular, much talked about buffet breakfast and bar food. Prices reflect the maintenance of traditional cuisine in a the modern world… But not as expensive as other modern hotels nearby, eg the Kingsbury. Highly recommended. We were here in the run up to Christmas 2025. The decorations will put many Christian countries to shame!.😁 They obliged us with a late check out. Five stars!”

„I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it was a wonderful and memorable experience. Although the location is a little far from Colombo, I actually found it to be a positive aspect, as it gave us a chance to relax away from the busy city. After staying here, we continued our journey to Negombo, and the distance worked out just fine for us. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome. A special mention must go to Divni, who was incredibly sweet and attentive. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, constantly checking if everything was going well and offering help whenever needed. Her warmth and hospitality truly stood out and made a big difference to our experience. Check-in did take a little longer than expected, and there were some initial issues with the room reservation and meal plan arrangements. However, the staff handled the situation politely and worked to resolve it, which I appreciated. The food was one of the highlights of our stay. The buffet by the pool was excellent, offering a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The action stations were a nice touch, adding freshness and variety to the meals. Everything I tried was delicious, and I found myself looking forward to each meal. One of the most unique experiences was the afternoon tea at Kurulu Kele, which felt like stepping into a peaceful rural village. The setting was calm and relaxing, and the ginger tea along with the fish cutlets were simply delightful. Swinging on the onchillawa after so many years brought back childhood memories and added a special charm to the whole experience. The beach view from the hotel is another highlight. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the ocean was breathtaking. I especially enjoyed spending time outside in the afternoons, just soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and enjoying the natural beauty. Overall, I truly believe this hotel is worth every penny spent. I loved my time here and will definitely return. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great hospitality, delicious food, and a peaceful getaway.”
