"I am giving bad review, I simply needed to move my day to stay here at Avalon to check in on 14th not the 13th. Emailed 3 days prior and was told NO. I was still charged for original day to check in of the 13th. Which I did not stay due to my job had me stay a extra day in Larissa,Greece. So I was not trying to cancel just move my check in day by 1 day with plenty of notice. So needless to say I stayed somewhere else when I got to Thessaloniki on the 14th."

"Pros: Nice hotel, well renovated, with air conditioning. Quiet location in the countryside, but right next to a bus stop for those who haven't rented a car. Very pleasant pool, with bar/restaurant open all day (during pool opening hours). Reasonable food prices, drinks a little expensive. The hotel provides towels at the pool, which is convenient. I never had trouble finding a sunbed, although on days when it's "busy" you have to book to get the sunbeds you want. Make sure you bring armbands for children because the pool is deep everywhere (at least 1.60m). Very pleasant staff, breakfast offers a lot of choices. You can have it inside or on a small terrace with a nice view. A few restaurants are within walking distance if you're not afraid to walk on the verge. Cons: The hotel has been nicely renovated but the insulation is poorly done. If the neighbors are woken up at night by their children, you will be too. Also, during the day you can hear the music playing in the hallways, and the music playing at the pool. The shower head is a bit weak, even when set to maximum. In the reception room / restaurant (breakfast room), the air conditioning is set too cold! And finally, the hotel restaurant closes at 8 p.m., so if you don't like to eat early, you'll have to eat somewhere else."

"The hotel is very nice, and the rooms are spacious. However, we traveled with two children (17 months and 5 years old), and the noise is constant, with other guests shouting and loud conversations outside the doors in the middle of the night… (lots of young people). It's more like a youth hostel in the end. Our children were woken up with a start several times: midnight, 3:00 AM, 4:50 AM… even though they are usually heavy sleepers. Talking to other guests who were in the same hotel, they all had this problem. I strongly advise against it for families."

"Lovely hotel with good value for money. Very decent breakfast (continental + fresh Greek products). The pool was also very nice. It's a little isolated, so getting around is difficult without a car, but not too much of a problem given the price of taxis. Special mention goes to the staff who are truly professional and lovely! I highly recommend it."
