"the Location was great and the restaurant staff were friendly and provided us good service, which is unfortunately the two positive parts of our stay. when we arrive, the reception experience was very poor. No Information was given about the lodge or breakfast until I asked, and we were not even accompanied to our room. The condition of the room was disappointing. The shower and floors were dirty to the point where you could not shower without wearing flip flops. Housekeeping was also below standard. During our 2-night stay, the room was not properly cleaned, the bins were not emptied, dishes were not washed properly and both the bathroom and floors remained dirty. Only the beds were made. This was a very disappointing experience."

"We have just left a 4 night stay at Karongwe River Lodge residing in one of the two Presidential Suites. Everything was outstanding - the accommodation, food, service, attention to detail but most importantly the game drives!! Our driver and tracker were incredible, doing everything in their power to ensure that we saw every possible animal safely and in comfort. We spent 2 hours tracking lions and found a whole beautiful pride. It was so exciting and fun! We saw the big 5 and so many others and felt so lucky. I have not been to other game reserves but could not recommend this one highly enough. The lodge and facilities are beautiful as is the whole reserve."

"friendliness of the staff is superb, cleanliness- is great. the rooms are just fine, however they need an upgrade or new decorations. the WIFI connection is very horrible. the TVs are bad, I couldn't watch my favorite show because I couldn't change the channel, increase the volume the remote was not working. I tried changing on the tv with no luck, the quality of the pictures on the tv was very terrible I felt like I was watching on the old version(90s) kind of TVs "

"I had a wonderful stay at FairView Hotel. The views from my room were absolutely beautiful. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Housekeeping did an excellent job, changing the towels and bedding daily. I also took a walk from my room down to the river, passing the golf course along the way. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and made for a peaceful, relaxing experience. The only downside was that my room had a thatched roof without a ceiling, and small bits would occasionally fall from the roof, which was a little unpleasant. The staff at reception, in the breakfast room, and at the restaurant were all professional, friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. I ordered room service once and, unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the chicken schnitzel, fries, or the peppermint crisp tart. However, everything else about my stay was excellent. The swimming pool area was beautiful, relaxing, and very well maintained. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would happily return. "

"This was my fourth visit to River Lodge within the Karongwe Game Reserve. Such a special place. River Lodge is beautifully situated beside the Makutsi river. After the recent heavy rains we could view crocodile and hippo from the raised deck as we ate. On previous visits we have been able to see crocodile from the deck but not Hippo. On each visit we have seen the Big 5 within 2 game drives. Karongwe has run a leopard project resulting in an abundant population of leopard within the reserve, always the hardest member of the Big 5 to spot. The food is excellent. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and well situated."

"I was extremely disappointed with the reception I received. When I arrived, the man at reception did not greet me with a smile or even a friendly manner. He bearly glanced at me, gave me a paper to complete my details, and ignored me from there. The lady showed me my room and gave me n slip with the Wi-Fi password. They did not provide any details about breakfast or if and where it is available, even though you pay for bed and breakfast. The room, even though beautiful, only had a ceiling fan in the seating area and nothing near the bed, and it was extremely hot. No windows to open, only a door leading to the veranda. I will not stay there again"
