I always stop by when I go to Kyushu. An old ryokan in Usuki, Oita. So there are some places that are a bit maze-like. Usuki castle ruins and castle town are good places for sightseeing, but it's a nice place to take a stroll through the townscape. It's a ryokan where you can say ”I'm home” no matter how many times you visit in a city with a culture of hospitality. The rooms are spacious and you can eat fish and local Oita cuisine. It's nice to be able to take it slow. Oh, let's go again! It is.

Hotel is not the shiniest and may need some maintenance however it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Japanese dinner and breakfast were prepared with fresh ingredients and food was very delicious and generous. Bed was the most comfortable.
