"Just a few casitas, but they all offer privacy in the rainforest. We stayed in Haleakale. Raindrops on the roof overnight with a fire was so romantic. Fresh fruit and quiche were delivered to the fridge in our room before checkin for the morning’s breakfast. A little private porch to enjoy coffee in the morning. And free protein bars in the lobby so we had a treat on arrival. We considered staying in the Hawaii Volcano House on the rim - boy are we glad we didn’t (though we did enjoy dinner there overlooking Kilauea). Being 8 minutes away from HVNP, we beat the crowds and felt like we had the Park to ourselves. If it matters to you, there was strong wifi in our room. And lots of channels on TV. All of the staff we met were welcoming and kind. In fact, I messed up our reservation and John was Mr. “No Problem” when we called to fix things. Try asking a chain to do that - no chance. Our only regret: we wish we’d stay two nights. Other guests we chatted with stayed three nights, and their feeling was also that two nights was sufficient. Highly recommended. "It is recommended to stay near the volcano park. This hotel is only 5 minutes away from the volcano park, which is very convenient. The volcano park is too big and it takes at least two days to visit it, so we chose to stay in this hotel nearby so that we can visit the volcano park carefully. In addition, the hotel has a century-old restaurant, which is not bad, but the price is expensive."

"This is a very unique B&B! It's just a few minutes' drive from the Volcano Park. The environment is quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle. The frogs croak and the birds chirp, it feels like living in the forest. The bed is big and very comfortable, and I slept very soundly!"

Lokahi Lodge ★★

"It's remote and a bit hard to find at night, so it's best to arrive before dark. There's no reception staff. It's very natural; you can hear insects and birds chirping. The facilities are a bit old, but it's close to the volcano park."

"I’ve stayed at Volcano Acres Ranch on three separate occasions (friends trip, couples trip and family trip) and each visit has been wonderful. Theresa ensures we have everything we need to be comfortable. Breakfasts with egg sandwich, waffles or omelet with a papaya bowl are delicious. Chickens, ducks, goats, pig and donkey out back are so fun especially for kids! And staying 10 mins outside Volcanoes NP was a huge plus for checking out Kīlauea at night and beating the crowds in the morning. Thank you for another great stay."

"I didn't grab volcano house, I live here. Very close to the Volcano Park, 6 minutes drive, you can enter the park to see the volcano at any time. Pure self-service check in check out, suitable for I people The house is very stylish and old, and the living is quite comfortable.
