"We had a great experience here. The hotel is very well-located - it was just steps away from our Sandwich Bay tour departure point. Every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They all went above and beyond. The thatched roof is charming. The room was comfortable, with nice pillows. The breakfast is great. But the real standout is the quality of the staff, from the front desk to the wait staff to the nighttime security guard to the laundry staff!"

"The hotel is in downtown Walvis Bay and not a particularly far walk from the Esplanade. While the staff were truly excellent and very friendly, the room itself was in not the greatest condition. The closet door had significant damage to it from the entrance door constantly banging into it, the bathroom door was literally on a sliding track, and the toilet was right next to the door at an odd angle that made positioning very unusual. However, the worst part of the room was that the bed sheet had the remains of a significant blood stain on it, but I cannot be 100% sure. Aside from the room that seriously needs renovation, the breakfast was quite good."

"Overall, we were very happy with our stay here! The rooms are spacious with large, comfy beds. The rooms were very clean with good quality towels and bedding. Nice hot shower with good pressure. The staff were all super friendly and Malani was super helpful and tried to make our stay extra special as it was our honeymoon. They also have a security guard monitoring the parking lot where our car was parked but at no point did we ever feel unsafe in the area. The breakfast was also decent and they had a wide selection of options. Overall I'd recommend this place!"

"We chose to stay in Walvis Bay for convenience, as the various excursions depart from this town which, apart from this, has very little to offer. The Oyster Box is in a very convenient location, close to the docks where the various restaurants are located and the excursions depart (we had dinner at the Raft and Anchors). Modern, rather modest room. The breakfast was decidedly basic. It's fine for a hit and run... Walking around the town we saw a couple of hotels that were decidedly nicer, at least externally."

"Place has secure parking which was great. Staff at check-in wasnt aware of our vegan food wishes and didnt really bother. Next day the owner called and asked us why we didnt come for breakfast, so clear mis-communication amongst staff. Location is decent, Walvis Bay isn't the most beautiful. Rooms were decent, but we didnt like the fact that you could technically look inside the rooms from the outside doors, this should be covered. Other than that, decent place for what you pay."

"The best hotel in town! Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds. The downsides include slow service in the restaurant, some menu items are missing, including local oysters, and the smell of rotten fish sometimes comes from the bay. If you want to see lots of flamingos, it's best to come in season."

"Situated in the heart of town, with stores very accessible, all within walking distance - Spar, Mugg and Bean, etc. It is a basic hotel, suitable for a few nights for business stayover. The staff were courteous and very helpful both at reception and in the dining area. Check in was fairly quick. Breakfast was fair. The chef was particularly gracious in grilling fish for me for lunch, and accommodating my pescatarian and vegetarian dietary needs. The rooms were spacious, hot water, clean sheets, and the noise was minimal. The hotel could benefit from being fumigated as there were crawling creatures in the bedroom and bathroom. Overall a good place for a quick business visit. The training venue was good - excellent wifi, seating, audio-visual superb with an assistant to help. The hotel is about 30 minutes away from Swakopmund, a town well worth seeing."

"Well run B&B. Clean and comfortable rooms. Secure parking. Good location. Lovely breakfast. Very pleasant staff. Our Apartment 2 was very spacious and had a washing machine and courtyard area which was convenient. Only reason I deducted a star is because of miscommunication we had on check regarding parking for another member of our group. WiFi was also not very stable. But the positives outweigh that. I would definitely recommend it."
