Whales Way Ocean Retreat ★★★★
"We stayed at Whales Way twice on our trip - once in December and then on our way home. What a lovely place to stop over at. Benji and Annie (and Benji's father) go out of their way to make the stay very pleasant. The first room was the garden room at the back - nice garden view the road noise from the N2 was not too bad. The TV is not worth watching and wifi was a little weak at times. The stay in the loft room made up for the garden room stay. What an amazing view over the sea. Breakfast was amazing. Benji and his father together made it happen and it was delicious. All in all, a great overnight B&B or even if you are staying in Wilderness for a few days. Recommended."

"Co za stunning hotel Sypialnia ogromna z pięknymi widokami na 2 strony Wanna była stunning i łóżko tak wygodne! Urocze dotyki jak herbata kupiona do pokoju rano, aby rozpocząć dzień ! Dinner room również miał stunning beach views i staff were lovely. Śniadanie było mieszanie bufetu i gorąco świeżo przygotowany wybór. Jeść tutaj wieczorem i chociaż nie ogromne menu można bezpiecznie powiedzieć, że to naprawdę dobre. Private parking, ale wąskie i górne wzgórze tak uważaj na niską ścianę."

"Wilderness is a beach paradise, and Dune Villa is one of the best bed and breakfast hotels we have stayed in on our visits there. James made a special point of welcoming us in a down to earth and practical way. Our room overlooked the beach, and was very well equipped with lots of wardrobe space. A bit of a descent ( 102 steps) to the sand but an easy gradient so no problem. Staff all very attentive and friendly. Pool could be a bit bigger, but there's always the sea to swim in! Excellent breakfast, can't think of anything to complain about. James does a great job."

"Rene i Mike są wspaniali, dbającymi i ważnymi gospodarzami, którzy stworzyły bardzo wygodny dom z domu. "Both me and my husband was on our honeymoon and we pick shangri-la manor for 3 night when we pass through gatden route, we loved our stay there! The property is so beautiful inside and out. Gives you a feeling of nobleness, classic and old charm style deco. When you step outside, the whole dynamic changed. Just wild and lush. The room super spacious and comfortable, the view from the room’s balcony was so stunning and breakfast was delicious. The host was doing everything to make us feel comfortable and at the end of our check out, we received a lovely surprise gift for our honeymoon. Overall, we are very much enjoy staying there and we strongly recommended this place. "

"When we drove through the entrance gates, it was like entering a quiet corner of heaven. Surrounded by lush green lawns, trees everywhere and the Outeniqwa mountains as backdrop. The host lead the way to our chalet, where everything was just perfect (and my wife is not easily pleased!) We enjoyed a sunset swim in the pool, and then light the fire on the stoep with the sun disappearing behind the mountains. When load shedding started, we switched off the inverter and gazed in silence at the heavens above. The next morning my daughter and I took the path down to the Silver river where we experienced the real wilderness up close. Sooo sad that we couldn't stay another night as offered by our host, but we will be back for sure. This was the perfect ending to our week in the Garden Route and definitely the highlight of the trip."

"This is a terrible hotel. Bad Smells, they fill the hotel with students and they were walking around at all hours of the morning, cockroaches in the bathrooms. I complained to the manager and he said they would give me a refund and when I left and contacted him he said they will not refund as they did not find cockroaches. My husband killed about 10 baby cockroaches in the bathroom and when i read other customer reviews there were MANY complaining about the same thing. So they still owe me the money. This hotel needs serious renovations- its not hotel standards any longer. They do not respond to emails and the manager Johan does not want to give me the owners details"
