Ideal location.
Welcoming and polite check in from members of staff. Didn't get chance to use resteraunt as we were in a hurry for an O2 Arena event.
Room was adequate for stay although shower head wouldn't stay in a fixed position, the toilet sprayed water at you when you flushed and it would have been nice to have a bin near kettle to put used tea bags etc in.
Checked around the room before leaving the following morning and found dog toys under the bed so obviously not cleaned properly before we arrived.
The hotel is in a great location on the cliffs above the sea front. Everything was very clean and staff friendly and polite. We particularly liked the outside terrace area at the front of the hotel. We arrived by train and it is about a 15 minute walk from the station. Didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on food.
Would certainly stay here again if we are ever in Southend on Sea.
The swimming pool appeared quite big, although we didn't get a chance to use it. Our room was fairly roomy for two people, but with our group of four, it felt a bit crowded. It's worth noting that if you have heavy luggage, you might want to avoid booking a room on the top floor (second floor), as there are no lifts available in this hotel. The bathroom provided only shampoo and body wash, so you might need to bring or purchase your own conditioner.
The breakfast exceeded my expectations. Despite anticipating a traditional British offering, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety available, including English hot meals, a salad bar, a selection of cereals (there was Alpen!), milk alternatives (I particularly enjoyed the Oatly), and two coffee machines.
Their breakfast was so impressive that I will definitely consider staying at this hotel again when I visit Colchester next time.

Zdecydowaliśmy się na pobyt w tym hotelu ze względu na jego dogodną lokalizację w pobliżu lotniska Stansted, ponieważ mieliśmy wczesny lot. Każdy pokój nosi nazwę miasta, co dodaje hotelowi wyjątkowego charakteru. Śniadanie było proste, ale smaczne, w sam raz na dobry początek dnia. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, polecam ten hotel każdemu, kto szuka wygodnego i dobrze zlokalizowanego miejsca na nocleg przed wylotem z lotniska Stansted.
Our room was spotless , a comfy bed and a good shower , the pool+ hot room area were really good, but for reference there are 3 (members only) aqua aerobics classes a week which use the whole pool , and whose participants’warm up’ prior to the class -so it’s very busy to the class , there are a great selection of (pre bootable )classes , treatments and a well equipped gym (all obviously open to members ) , the meal options are delicious, and the staff are charming
Fabulous location, if you need the airport. But, you have to bus/cab/drive into Southend/Rayleigh/wherever if not wanting the airport.
15min walk to various eateries, if you don't want to eat in the hotel, like Toby Carvery, Hungry Horse, African, fish and chips.
Majority of staff seen were happy and chatty, nice to see.

The hotel was pretty good but the bedroom was SOOO hot, it was cooler outside. Thankfully there was a fan for use in the room. Unfortunately I did not get a room near my travelling companion, not even on the same floor, despite being on the same booking. The lock on my door (room 16) did not work properly so I propped a chair against it overnight. A standard lamp in my room was not working. The room and bed was very comfortable and clean and despite being on the ground floor, right by the car park, I didn't get disturbed by other guests or cars. The restaurant was busy and a bit manic but the staff were pleasant and the vegan option I chose for dinner was very nice. Breakfast was okay but the plant-based cooked option I chose could've done with being hot. The coffee from the self-serve machine was really nice.

Room was spacious wardrobe big enough for a 4 yr old to sleep in ( excuse my humour ) and very clean
Evening meal portions great food very tasty & staff looked after granddaughter well with keeping her occupied .
Breakfast was a little of a let down as under the warmer food was still cold and bacon very dry … cheese was dried up with the cold meats only I flavour yoghurt I wish I had ordered off the fresh cooked menu of eggs selection ( but I never left hungry )

As I had a graduation ceremony, this hotel was perfect because it had a great location. Just a few minutes walking to the campus of the University of Essex. The room was spotless and very comfortable, so I had a nice sleep.

I paid for breakfast up front - which was meant to be open from 7am. However, what really happened was that breakfast (prepared by the Receptionist - who was very helpful) started to be prepared from 7am-ish. Coffee, microwave toastie, juice etc duly handed over in a paper bag (I was not the only one waiting) - but this was not ready 'till ~7.20am. Makes a difference if you need to eat and get on your way.
Also, £2.50 for the car-park - why? It's not the money - just the impression given.
The restaurant is Indian cooking - which I enjoyed. Waiter was pleasant and efficient.
Room was basic. Clean but a few cobwebs in the cupboards. No AC.
GGuest UserI flew from Glasgow to London late at night and used this hotel, and it was incredibly convenient being directly connected to the airport. The room was spacious and clean. While it was nice to have a bathtub in the bathroom, the bath plug was broken, so I couldn't fill it with water. I tried to fix it myself, but when I removed the plug, there was someone else's hair on it, so I put it back. It was a shame that I couldn't contact the front desk for a repair or room change since I checked in so late.

NNadlouThe 4sisters Inn (not advertised as this on arrival) is located offside a road and it is likened to a U.S motel style layout. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room. The room was described as a superior twin with garden view. The room was large and had 2 beds which were bigger than a standard size singles.
There is a kettle with cups and drinking glasses, tea & coffee sachets, milk. Flat screen tv on wall.
There is a wall fan and a wall heater, also 2 hairdryers.
A small closed room with coat hangers in for coats.
The so called garden view was just a bit of land with trees overgrown area which was littered with glass bottles & rubbish.
There was a wetroom/toilet. The decor had 1 wall with brown/ cream tiles and 3 walls with grey/silver plastic tongue & groove it was odd and was very mismatched. There were no hooks or rail to hang towels/ clothes in the room.
The water drainage grate was broken.
2 bath towels and hand towels were provided.
We booked this place as it was a convenient location to east 15 drama school, there isn't much around the area. There is a Miller & Carter restaurant 2 mins away and onside a small animal visitor centre and an MMA boxing club.
On reflection this place needs a complete decor renovation and a deep clean but it was comfortable and was OK for the price.
GGuest UserI wouldn't recommend this hotel. First off, the triple room photos online were misleading and didn't match the actual room, which put us in an unsuitable space. Secondly, the hotel's service attitude was very average; we could never get through to the front desk when calling. While the room initially seemed okay, we discovered later that the cleanliness was poor, with colored stains on the towels. The only upside is its location, being the closest hotel to the airport. Unless you absolutely need to stay near the airport, I'd advise against it.
BBambamGStayed overnight for a wedding in the area. Convenient online check-in & check out. Had to pay £20 for early check in. Parking was an extra £12 overnight. Great facilities including pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Plenty of choice at breakfast including dairy free milk. Friendly staff.
GGuest UserThe room was clean and tidy with great natural light, and the bedding was comfortable, leading to a very restful sleep. The facilities were complete, and the soundproofing was good, so it was quiet overall. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, making both check-in and check-out quick and easy. The location is convenient for getting around, and it offers excellent value for money. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.
GGuest UserI am going to make a point about the service in Novotel: I was greeted by Gita and she has done an absolute excellent job. I have asked for a quiet room so I can have some sleep as had an early flight. I have passed my special thank you to Gita when I was leaving, through a receptionist man, early morning. The hotel room was ready on my arrival but obviously it needs updating as looks scratchy, and shabby but it didn't effect me at all, for night before the flight it was excellent! I would definitely recommend the hotel and will be back again. Many thanks to Gita and manager Jastina.
SSamuelThe hotel staff were very nice and kind. Upon arrival we had a lot of bags and the staff made sure we got a room on ground floor and there was a trolley to move our items at once.
We were indoors all the time so cleaning staff left our room to give us privacy. Next morning we requested to have our room cleaned and in 5 mins there was someone there to clean. So efficient!!
