”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions. The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families. It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹 In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

An experience at a Japanese onsen guesthouse that exceeded expectations, and my first guesthouse stay in Japan! When I dropped off my luggage, the host meticulously disinfected the wheels with alcohol. Upon check-in, the owner gave a detailed explanation of the hotel facilities. The room was a traditional Japanese tatami style. As soon as you enter, there's the restroom. I have to mention, the Japanese really do practice water recycling here; the water from the sink directly flows into the toilet tank. The room also had a private onsen, and the owner thoughtfully provided tea and sweets. The biggest highlight of this place is taking a cable car to the top floor to enjoy the natural outdoor onsen bath – it was absolutely wonderful. When we left, the uncle personally carried our luggage to the entrance (to protect the old facility, you can't push luggage inside), which was a huge plus! Afterward, they offered a complimentary ride to Ito Station. The only thing that could be improved: I hope the bathrobes are clean.

The location right in front of the sea offered absolutely fantastic views. However, there were some signs of deterioration, such as doors that wouldn't close due to rust and areas where the concrete was peeling off, which was a bit worrying. The food and service were excellent, so the facilities were the only slight disappointment.

The hotel is new and the room was decent. Location: It's quite far from Atami Station, and there are uphill and downhill slopes, plus stairs, which are extremely tiring when dragging luggage. There are many hotels along the way, and this one is a bit far from the beach as well. If you're considering coming, I'd recommend staying at La Vista, which is right across from the beach and just a few steps away. This hotel is also far from Kinomiya Station, and the uphill/downhill walks are exhausting. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to Kinomiya Shrine. The hotel's Wi-Fi signal is extremely poor, I'm genuinely fed up. I won't be staying here again.

The room is quite spacious, though the decor is a bit dated. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on a hill, but there's a shuttle bus service to and from Shimoda Station. It's not very convenient for buying food, so you'll likely need to dine at the hotel for all three meals. On the plus side, the hotel's food quality is excellent, with great ingredients and presentation! The hotel also offers convenient access to various beaches.

Came here for the fireworks. You can soak in the hot springs at the hotel next to the fireworks display, have a buffet, then change into a yukata and head over leisurely. The hotel buffet even includes unlimited beer, cocktails, and more! I loved the chawanmushi, grilled fish, beef brisket, tempura... and there was sashimi too. For breakfast, I grabbed some natto, and wow, that's truly 'hellish' cuisine, haha! 🤣 They offer a JR station shuttle service. The driver was very nice and helped with our luggage. We decided not to take it on the way there because we wanted to explore the onsen town, but the hilly roads were quite a trek, very difficult to walk. I'd recommend just heading straight to check-in first, then exploring. The onsen also had a manga corner. Oh, and you don't actually need to bring your own yukata for the fireworks! This hotel has many different patterns of yukata available for guests using the hot springs.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Ittouan. The experience was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They noticed us from far away and immediately came to help carry our luggage. One of the staff members, a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English, was especially helpful and made communication very easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I would like to thank her again. We booked both dinner and breakfast, and the meals were fantastic. The ingredients were very fresh and the variety was impressive. Every dish was different and beautifully prepared. However, for two women like us, the portions were honestly quite generous — even sharing one meal between two people might have been enough! The location is excellent. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Kawazu Station, which makes it extremely convenient for visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms. It is also very close to the beautiful coastline, so the surroundings are lovely. Our room had a private onsen bath where we could soak while enjoying the view of cherry blossoms, which was a truly special experience. There is also a larger private bath available by reservation (free of charge). We also tried the hot stone spa, which was incredibly effective in relieving the fatigue after my marathon. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I would love to come back again in the future, hopefully with my family. 一灯庵で本当に素晴らしい滞在をさせていただきました。最初から最後までとても心温まる体験でした。 到着したとき、スタッフの皆さまは遠くから私たちに気づいてくださり、すぐに荷物を運ぶのを手伝ってくださいました。その心遣いにとても感動しました。特に英語がとても上手な可愛らしい女性スタッフの方がいらっしゃって、丁寧に対応してくださり安心して滞在することができました。残念ながらお名前を伺うのを忘れてしまいましたが、この場を借りて改めて感謝をお伝えしたいです。 夕食と朝食の両方をお願いしましたが、お料理はどれも本当に素晴らしかったです。食材はとても新鮮で、品数も多く、一つ一つ丁寧に作られているのが伝わってきました。すべて違う料理で楽しませていただきました。ただ、私たち二人（女性）には少し量が多く、とても贅沢なボリュームでした。 立地もとても良く、河津駅まで無料の送迎があるので河津桜を見に行くのにもとても便利でした。また、美しい海岸も近く、散歩するだけでもとても気持ちの良い場所でした。 お部屋の温泉では桜を眺めながらゆっくり入ることができ、とても特別な時間を過ごすことができました。また、無料で予約できる貸切風呂もあり、温泉を存分に楽しめました。さらにホットストーンスパも利用しましたが、マラソンを走った後の疲れが本当に和らぎ、とてもリラックスできました。 スタッフの皆さまの温かいおもてなしのおかげで、忘れられない滞在になりました。ぜひまた家族と一緒に訪れたいと思います。本当にありがとうございました。

The hotel was very clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. The hot springs were also wonderful, probably because it was a weekday and not crowded. I highly recommend getting the dinner plan. For breakfast, we were able to have it in our room, which allowed for a very relaxed start to the day. As other reviewers mentioned, the坂道 (steep hill) up to the hotel was quite something. We went by car, and at one point, we encountered another car coming down in a curving tunnel. Since uphill traffic has priority, the other car had to back up the hill to let us pass. After arriving, we enjoyed walking to the shopping street in front of the station, but on the way back to the hotel, we took a taxi from the station. Even the taxi driver radioed ahead to another taxi waiting at the top of the hill to hold their position before starting the ascent. It would be great if there were traffic lights at the top and bottom. There aren't many cars coming and going, so we just hoped there wouldn't be any oncoming traffic on our way back.

This was my second stay at Hotel Clad, and to my surprise, I was assigned the exact same room as last time—talk about fate! The location is pretty much unbeatable if you're here for outlet shopping. It's less than a 5-minute walk to Gotemba Premium Outlets, and a taxi from Gotemba Station costs around 2,000 JPY. They also offer luggage storage both before check-in and after check-out, so you don't have to drag your bags around. If I had to point out a downside, it would be the 10:00 AM check-out time. It feels a bit early, leaving you quite rushed if you want to sleep in before packing. Once the outlets close at night, there's really not much to do around the area, so you basically spend the evening at the hotel's onsen. Luckily, the private bath experience was quite nice, which made up for the quiet night. Overall, it's still a hassle-free choice for shopping at the Gotemba outlets, and I'll most likely stay here again next time.

I've never stayed in such a dirty and messy hotel in Japan. It's hard to believe this place has over 4 stars on Trip.com. The location is decent, very close to Shizuoka Station, though most of the shopping is on the other side of the tracks, which is fine. You can easily spot Mount Fuji when taking the elevator. The non-Japanese staff at the front desk weren't very friendly either. The most important point is that every day I was either killing cockroaches or other small bugs. I couldn't even leave my suitcase open for long. I'm seriously fed up. Many parts of the bathroom were moldy too. I slept with a constant sense of dread every night. Just writing this review is giving me goosebumps. I've definitely decided not to stay here again. Maybe I just had particularly bad luck. This is my honest experience, for reference only.
