„The owner was very helpful in letting me check in and get inside the hostel. We had some kind of language barrier but it was very minor. The place was very clean and everything was working well. Showers were good, washing machine was good, TV was good. Everything was good except the sofa. The pillow cover of pillows on the sofa needed to be washed. I just had one minor problem though--the bed mattress was kind of hard for me. I also stayed in other accommodation (but not a 3-star hotel) and I find that the mattresses overall are kind of hard. Anyway, if I would be asked, will I stay here again? Yes. Definitely!”

„一家三口去的，還給升級了房間，房間的衞生和整體設施都不錯，在商場裏面也方便，累了就可以回去休息。最重要一點我想説這家服務人員簡直都太好了，每個服務人員都有求必應，我説房間冷，不厭其煩的給我找暖和的房間，我説不換了還主動問詢是送電暖氣，貼心的給延遲了退房，帶孩子溜達完了還回酒店睡了一覺，簡直太貼心了。前台有個氣質很好的姐姐送我們到的房間，走的時候也幫忙拿袋子裝東西。經常出門，很少評價，見過五星酒店服務好的，這麼貼心的真的很少見，強烈推薦！！！”

„The hotel is a bit distance from Changchun station, about 15 minutes walking distance but it's worth to stay at this place. There's actually buses from Changchun station but I didn't take it. The room and toilet in the room is clean. The water pressure is good to have a good shower! The staff in the hotel are friendly especially the 大姐who are serving the breakfast! You can always see the smiles on their face! The breakfast at the hotel is yummy too! Overall, this is a nice hotel to stay! You will never regret to stay here. Price is affordable and their service is good. Oh ya, not to forget! There's washing machine and dryer here in the hotel and it's free of charge! 😀”

„The hotel is very clean but when I was there with my family, there are a lot of constructions ongoing near the hotel and it was raining every single day when we are at Changchun. The hotel staff is very nice and efficient esp when we had only 30 mins to board our train to head to Changbaishan. The hotel staff, Fu Yang, is able to cater for us and understand that we are rushing for time. We managed to board our train successfully thanks to Ms Fu Yang. The breakfast options were rather limited. There was a signage saying that we could have how we wanted our eggs. We requested for the chef to cook it; the chef booked for us unwillingly and gave us an attitude. From the previous guest reviews, there are many positive reviews with regards to the buffet hence we decided to pay for the breakfast buffet. Overall, we will still stay in the same hotel if we visit Changchun once again. :) Side note, the train station was rather far away from the hotel. However, DiDi works fine too.”

„Location is close to the forest nature park incl. waterfalls 20 min. (need additional ticket) and is directly at the hot springs bathing area 100m. The entrance ticket was included for the hotel guests. The ticket for waterfalls and vulcano lake could be purchased at the hotel. In general very nice in winter time.”

„We really enjoyed our stay at Jianguo Hidden Hotel. The location is a big plus, surrounded by malls and eateries and just steps away from the metro station, which made getting around very easy. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and well maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and having a free laundry area together with the gym in the same space was such a thoughtful touch, especially for longer stays. Breakfast was enjoyable too. While the spread was not huge, it was well prepared and satisfying. We got to try some local fruits and regional delights, which added a nice local touch. Both adults and kids found enough variety to be happy. One small wish would be for a concierge service to help with ticket bookings for attractions, but the reception staff were friendly and genuinely tried their best to assist us. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Clean, convenient, and comfortable. A solid choice when visiting Changchun.”

„The hotel apartment was okay. The bed was not as comfortable and also the cleaning staff was not thorough. It’s more of a routine than it’s proper cleaning. The breakfast is no no for me  but besides that it’s quite a good hotel and good service.”

„之前定的房間因為我要求安靜，但是到店已經衹剩下電梯口旁邊的房間了，但是店員給免費升級了房間。房間面積很大，還有半圓形窗，陽光也特別好。真的超級靜音，一點吵鬧聲音都沒有。位置在商業街上，吃飯和購物都很方便，自駕有他家酒店的停車場，但是來晚了可能位置就不夠了。下次來還會選他家。”

„Changbai Mountain Landscape International Eco-Exchange Center — where “eco-exchange” really means exchanging knee joints for enlightenment 🐕🦺❄️ This old dog picked this place as a first-timer to Changbaishan because on paper it reads like a dream: ✔️ 5-minute walk to the Changbai Mountain VIP entrance ✔️ Hot springs inside the compound ✔️ “Eco-exchange” — which I later learned refers to exchanging comfort for character development Location? Prime marrow bone. 🦴 Reality, however, is a scenic winter obstacle course. The hotel is thoughtfully scattered across three separate buildings — one for check-in and breakfast, another for hot springs, and because suspense is important in life, the Food Plaza lives in yet another building. In winter. On ice. With wind that slaps. Not exactly age-old-dog friendly. I waddled. I shuffled. I negotiated with my knees. At one point I believe my soul lagged behind and had to catch up. To offset this Arctic triathlon, the staff are available 24/7 on WeChat, responding faster than I can type “why did I choose this hotel?” Efficiency deserves a respectful tail wag. 🐾 Now let’s talk Food Plaza, the hotel’s redemption arc. The food is genuinely scrumptious, warming, and emotionally supportive after being bullied by Changbai winds. Takeaway is allowed — which means you carry it yourself. Eco-exchange again. This dog fetches his own dinner. 🥸 Then there’s the hot spring schedule. Opens at 13:30. When the mountain is closed and the hot spring is closed what exactly is an old dog meant to do? Stare into the snow? Question life decisions? Age visibly? Ah yes — write this review. ✔️ ⚠️ Now, the bone that refuses to go down smoothly. Despite having a relaxed stay, I felt continuously pressed for a 5-star review — on departure day from the first meeting in the lobby to gentle reminders all the way up the bus. At that point, it stopped feeling like hospitality and started feeling like an exam I didn’t sign up for. It made me sad, actually — because it suggests staff performance may be chained to guest reviews like sled dogs pulling corporate KPIs. Trip.com, if you’re listening: no guest should ever be pressured to review. The moment reviews are pushed, ratings stop being honest and start being decorative. This old dog is an independent reviewer. I don’t bark on command. I don’t roll over for stars. And the harder the push, the more my paw hovers over the lowest rating out of pure principle. Still — despite the ice, the walking, the soul-searching — the location alone makes this a smart base for Changbaishan first-timers.
