Hotele Romantic w: Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan

„It's about a ten-minute drive from Izu Kogen Station. The hotel is quite large, divided into several areas, ranging from luxury to economy. We booked a Japanese-style suite in the main building with a great view. The hotel has many free facilities that you can check on the map and experience one by one. The hot spring facility next door has an open-air bath. Soaking in the hot springs by the moonlit sea at night was very relaxing, with the constant sound of the waves. The breakfast included sashimi and various snacks, which was quite rich, but the selection was almost identical for two consecutive days. I'm giving three stars for service, specifically for the front desk. This hotel has quite a few Indian staff members. So why only three stars? The 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of the hotel all have scenic ocean view rooms, but Chinese guests are always assigned to the 5th floor or rooms near the elevator. Having stayed at many hotels, I can sense the subtle discrimination and differential treatment here. If the price booked through Ctrip is lower than what Japanese tourists pay, then disregard my comment. Finally, this hotel is very family-friendly, perfect for those with children. If you prefer quiet, a hotel of this size won't be quiet at all; you should choose a smaller onsen ryokan instead.”

„Overall the location was great and there was a direct sea view from most of the rooms and the onsen. Some of the facilities are slightly dated. Whilst it is very costly, i do feel overall that stay was still within expectations. The biggest disappointment for me was the dinner where the steam fish served was not as fresh. Despite the feedback provided to the hotel, they could not do any service recovery and simply kept repeating that they could not do anything. This goes against the great Japanese service I have always encountered everywhere I go in Japan”

„Stayed 2 nights at this lovely place. Hotel was very near the train station and within walking distance to many restaurants and cafes. The staff at this hotel were warm and I felt really taken care of. We were able to understand each other with simple English and Japanese. My room was spacious and had a great view of the sea and sunrise! The onsen in the room was big and I had a good time soaking in it. On my check out day, the staff gave me a back of kiwis that were farmed by the owner of the hotel. Would love to come back here again when I have chance!”

„It’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!”

„酒店是傳統精緻的日式服務，讓人印象深刻，傳統日式房間寬敞舒適，附帶設施完善，私湯和高級按摩椅很舒服。餐廳是半懷石料理式，雖然沒有客房送餐，但餐廳也很舒適，料理有早餐和晚餐，味道優雅講究。酒店交通稍稍不便，需要坐公交車，其他方面都很不錯，是很好的修養身心的地方，酒店所在的鎮子也有一些不錯的甜品店和餐館。”

„Absolutely five stars!!! Excellent service and amazing pool side view. Both dinner and breakfast are perfect!! They provide shuttle buses but the timing is not good for me. It’s only around 10 minutes walk from nearest station. So the location is not a big problem for me.”

„The public bath at the 14/ F is very nice with mount fuji view if you are lucky. The hotel room is clean and tidy but not a large one even though we booked a room with a large bed. But you know it is Japan. The best thing is the hotel is next to the station.”

„Most convenient position around the Jr station, very kind frontdesk, I checked in 1 hrs earlier than regulated. Breakfast is decent as well. The room is bigger than I expected, equipment well functioned. Staff is professional, they react quickly and kindly when I ask for help. Highly recommend!”

„Best for solo travelers who still want to experience high level Japanese hospitality as it has a reduced price for one. Kaiseki was really big and it is a challenge, I advise to be hungry. Onsens are amazing.”

„It’s a traditional style onsen hotel, the decoration is a bit too old compared to the photos of the official website though I think it has been renovated. The onsen was okay and didn’t look clean because of the old renovation. The toilet inside the room had a bad smell.”
