This was my second visit to this large onsen hotel, and I noticed that the staff’s English has improved, which we really appreciated. We were especially thankful that they prepared our futons with two layers, thanks to that, we had no trouble sleeping on the tatami this time.
Our room was on the 11th floor, but unfortunately, there wasn’t much of a river view unless we stepped out onto the balcony and leaned over to look down. Instead, the view was of an old, closed-down, partially demolished hotel, which was a bit disappointing.
Their rooftop onsen offered a beautiful mountain view, which made up for it to some extent. However, there were no bathing amenities such as shampoo and conditioner available there. It seems like they expect guests to experience the onsen on the first and another floor for showering and washing up.
Their buffet offered a wide variety of food, but the steak was too tough, the sashimi felt soggy and the tempura wasn’t crispy at all
Fantastic service and experience. Seamless check-in from the moment we were greeted at the front porch all the way being orienteered around the hotel and escorted to the hotel. Facilities immaculate, especially loved the Onsen. Information regarding our dietary requirements have been communicated well through the different teams at the hotel.
Arriving at the train station, I found out the shuttle bus for the hotel wouldn't arrive for another 45 minutes, so we opted to walk there. It takes about half an hour but going uphill in the blazing sun was a bit torturous. The driveway is also very steep, so beware if you have a lot of baggage. Hotel has a wealth of history. It hosted a lot of famous guests in the early 20th century. Modern hotels are sterile in comparison. It's an old building, so is draughty and full of ancient furniture. This may be a turnoff for some but I found it completely charming.
Vibes and services are top notch. Feeling very warm and cozy inside the hotel. And Fujiki chan kept saying thank you very much after each sentence is very cute too :)
All the staffs are professional, very service oriented and special mention to the room service is super super prompt! Room amenities are luxurious! Bed and blanket is so fluffy! Breakfast portion is huge and fresh. We were able to use the shuttle service for check in and out, only got a cab at the Nikko train station when we return late at around 7pm.

Great
TTengyuandoufudian07The service was warm and attentive, and the hotel facilities were well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. If you're not driving, be sure to book the shuttle bus. The buffet dinner was definitely a highlight. Personally, I found the tatami somewhat firm.
GGuest UserThe shuttle bus is very convenient.
Although it's an older hotel with somewhat rustic furnishings, it's very clean and comfortable. During the day, the view from the window is of Lake Chuzenji, its shimmering waters are beautiful.
The hotel staff are all very helpful, happy to assist you, and very enthusiastic in answering your questions.
It's a perfect hotel for a relaxing vacation.
The food is all delicious; highly recommended.
ZZhennidajiejieA memorable hotel, full of old-world charm, with courteous staff. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. It's a landmark in Nikko, historically the first and most high-standard hotel. The only downside was the set dinner; while presented well, the ingredients and culinary skill weren't up to par, and the main course fish wasn't fresh.
YYeemunEverything was comfortable , maybe minor addition of a mirror instead of just one in the toilet. Also lighting could be brighter for certain areas as it gets quite dim in the evening . Dinner was perfect and they remembered my husband was a lefty and he wanted wasabi salt for his steak. That was a pleasant surprise, impeccable service and for the price we paid I think it’s a good value for Japan hotel standards
LLindaxiaolingziDuring the recent three-day autumn foliage season, rooms in Nikko were extremely difficult to book, especially balcony rooms with views of Nantaiyama and Chuzenji Lake. This time, I checked in at noon and requested an upgrade to a lake view room, and luckily, one became available on the 5th floor, the top floor. The balcony of the room offered a breathtaking lake view! Although the price was high, it was truly amazing!
Environment: Prime location near Chuzenji Lake, with its own dedicated station. The pier, lakeside, and Kegon Falls are all within walking distance.
Service: Top-notch. From check-in to introductions, turndown service, and breakfast the next day, the staff were impeccably at home! They now offer twice-daily shuttle service from Nikko Station. Truly fantastic!
Facilities: Complete with all amenities, including a private onsen (hot spring), and state-of-the-art bathing and skincare facilities.
Cleanliness: Spotless, and the public areas are impeccably beautiful.
Staying here is like living inside an oil painting, except for the price. But this is just one example! The purpose of making money is to achieve Ritz-Carlton freedom.
ののんたん.I stayed overnight without meals, but the room was clean and spacious. The large public bath was spacious and I was able to relax and enjoy it. The lounge was free to use in the evening, and I enjoyed some snacks and alcoholic beverages, which was very satisfying.
AAnonymous UserThe rooms were spacious and the views from the rooms were beautiful. There was also a hot spring, so we were able to relax. Dinner was a course meal, but the portions were just right and everything was delicious.
There were many popular tourist spots in Nasu around the hotel. I would like to use this hotel again when I come to Nasu.
博博内夫斯凯拉The Kinugawa Golden Valley Hotel includes breakfast and dinner. It is very cost-effective. I like the grapefruit wine here. The environment is also very elegant. The whole service is convenient, the transportation is convenient, and the friend introduces it.
