Disappointing checkout experience and noticeable difference in treatment I want to mention a particularly disappointing experience during checkout. The staff member was a young, slim man, approximately 5 ft 9 in, wearing a white thobe and red-and-white shemagh. This happened at approximately 7:00–7:30 pm. I was the only person waiting in the queue at reception. He was clearly aware I was waiting, but did not acknowledge me, make eye contact, or indicate that he would assist me next. Immediately before this, I had watched him speaking to a couple in front of me, and he was warm, friendly and conversational with them, speaking to them in Arabic. After they left, he went behind the desk but still did not acknowledge me. After waiting, I had to approach him myself and ask if I could come over. I handed him my key card and then had to ask, “Is there anything else?” He simply replied “Khalas” (“finished/that’s all”) in a very abrupt manner. There was no further conversation, courtesy or farewell. As a non-Arab visitor, I feel it is important to mention that this experience was particularly noticeable because, throughout my Umrah trip in Saudi Arabia, not only at this hotel, I observed several occasions where I felt there was a difference in the warmth, friendliness and level of service shown to me compared with some Arab guests around me. I cannot know the reasons behind individual people’s behaviour. I would also like to be fair and say that my check-in experience at this hotel was excellent. The staff who welcomed me were warm, friendly and attentive. This is why the checkout experience was particularly disappointing. All guests and pilgrims, regardless of nationality or background, should receive the same basic level of acknowledgement, courtesy and respect. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously.

Visiting AlUla during the off-season offers incredible value for money. Let's start with the weather, which is often a major concern. In July, temperatures range from 24-42 degrees Celsius. Mornings and evenings are surprisingly cool, especially when compared to Riyadh's 35-46 degrees during the same period. It's completely feasible to explore by avoiding the midday heat. Hotel prices in July are incredibly attractive, and there are very few tourists, mostly Arabs. Because there are so few people, the service is exceptionally quick. Shuttles arrive within 5-10 minutes. Only one of the three restaurants was open, offering both Arabic and Thai cuisine. While the Michelin-level prices aren't cheap, the food and service are excellent. The breakfast, in particular, is worth mentioning. It's à la carte, and the quality is superb. You could order the entire menu twice over! What's more, they even asked if I wanted a takeaway when I left. On the first day, I took away bread and fruit, and on the second, bread and Coke. A can of Coke costs 30 SAR in the room, and they packed me three cans along with a complimentary bottle of water! Since I didn't rent a car, I didn't visit any surrounding attractions, but the hotel grounds themselves are beautiful. In the evenings, you can enjoy a bonfire and stargaze. There's even a stargazing activity where a Kenyan guide shows you the moon through a telescope and helps you locate the Big Dipper to orient yourself. All the hotel staff are incredibly nice. They clean the room in the morning and then come back in the evening to prepare it for bedtime, which is a very thoughtful touch. Check-out was instant as I had no extra charges. I used the hotel's car service to the airport, and while it was twice the price of a taxi, the service was truly excellent. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and I'm extremely satisfied!

One of the hotel’s greatest advantages is its excellent location, just a short and convenient walk from the blessed Masjid Al Nabawi. This proximity makes it incredibly easy to attend prayers, especially Fajr and late-night prayers, without the stress of transportation or long walking distances. The staff at Makarem Burj Al Madinah deserve special recognition. Every team member I encountered was welcoming, respectful, and genuinely eager to help. The front desk staff handled check-in smoothly and professionally, always ready to assist with questions or requests. Equally impressive was the cleaning team, who maintained the rooms and public areas to an exceptionally high standard. Their attention to detail was evident daily, and their polite and friendly manner made the stay even more comfortable. As the hotel is only around six months old, everything feels fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The rooms, corridors, and common areas are spotless, well maintained, and beautifully finished. There is a noticeable sense of cleanliness throughout the property, complemented by a pleasant and refreshing fragrance that greets you as soon as you enter. This consistent cleanliness and inviting atmosphere contribute greatly to a sense of peace and relaxation after long hours spent at the Haram. Another excellent feature of the hotel is the 24-hour gym, which is thoughtfully segregated for men and women. This allows guests to exercise comfortably and privately at any time of day or night. The gym is modern, clean, and well equipped, making it easy to maintain a fitness routine even while traveling. Having round-the-clock access is especially convenient for guests with busy schedules centered around prayer times. Breakfast at Makarem Burj Al Madinah was another highlight of the stay. The breakfast spread is generous, varied, and well organized, offering a wide selection of dishes to suit different tastes. From fresh and hot options to lighter choices, everything was prepared to a high standard. The dining area is clean and pleasant, and the breakfast staff are attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable start to the day. Overall, Makarem Burj Al Madinah delivers an outstanding hospitality experience. Its close proximity to Masjid Al Nabawi, combined with its new and pristine condition, friendly staff, excellent housekeeping, well-designed gym facilities, and high-quality breakfast, make it an ideal choice for visitors to Madinah. I would gladly stay here again so long as prices remain reasonable God willing and confidently recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, convenience, and quality during their visit to this sacred city.

The best service ever! I checked into a room, but there was a noisy fan outside the window. They promptly changed me to a room with a view of the Haram, a splendid room with very responsive staff.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at Anwar Al Madinah Mövenpick Hotel. The location is exceptional—just a very short walk to Al-Masjid An-Nabawi, making it incredibly convenient for prayers. The staff were welcoming, kind, and always willing to help. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, and the hotel facilities made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality and the peaceful atmosphere throughout our stay. Thank you for making our visit to Madinah so memorable. We would definitely love to stay here again on our next visit, in shaa Allah.

The views are spectacular, making you feel like you're on another planet. The Mirror Music Hall is very close by, and the hotel service is excellent. While the breakfast options aren't extensive, everything is incredibly fresh, clean, and hygienic. The food at the Chinese and Western restaurants is also good. My room was the closest to the restaurant and pool, and it was quite noisy with people singing at night. I had to call the front desk for it to stop.

Absolutely amazing stay here at Crowne Plaza. Large room with a city view. Excellent service by all hotel staff. I will most definitely be staying here again when I return. I would Like to stay massive thank you to Faisal who kindly spoke with his manager regarding late check out without any extra charge as my flight is after midnight. It was greatly appreciated especially being outside in foreign country. Highly recommended!!

The hotel rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, and the breakfast is good. Parking is convenient, and it's not far from the old city, making it easy to drive anywhere. You can walk to the beach across the street, and the sunset views are beautiful. It offers great value for money and is highly recommended.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Prophet's Mosque, just a 200-meter walk away. The service is excellent; all the staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and thorough. The hygiene conditions are also very good. While there are many hotels around the Prophet's Mosque, some have bustling surroundings. This hotel, however, is situated in a quieter area. Their dates and coffee are also delicious. Overall, this hotel is a great choice.
