Hotele Hot Springs w: Toyama Prefecture, Japan

This is a fantastic hotel. You can soak in the onsen until you're completely relaxed; the onsen is great, with both outdoor and indoor options.

surprisingly this hotel has the best wifi in our entire trip even though this hotel is located above the mountains 😂 dinner was okay but buffet breakfast was fantastic we took second servings. soaking yourself in japan’s tallest onsen feels super great too. however morning’s soak wasn’t as hot as the evening’s soak. note that you have to walk quite a distance from the station. and the walk is more like a mini hike in snow. it can get slippery. DO NOT bring any luggage up. just a backpack will do for your 1 night stay. did a mini hike behind the hotel and view was fantastic. the sunset view from the hotel feels like you’re in heaven too. 10/10 would recommend this hotel.

A magical traditional Japanese inn. You have to wear slippers when entering the inn. The elderly are very enthusiastic and the whole village is very welcoming. I haven't experienced that kind of simplicity for a long time. There are singing and dancing performances, very delicious Sichuan fish, and a call to eat breakfast early. It feels like home.

Location: About a 15-minute walk from Toyama Station. There's a convenience store, the Daiwa department store, and the Toyama Prefectural Library (Glass Museum) nearby. Overall, it's very convenient. Cleanliness: First, you need to take off your shoes when you enter. The entire hotel's hallways and guest rooms are covered in tatami mats, which is a dream for those who love tatami. The bathroom floor is made of bamboo strips, which feels much better than tiles. Every morning, you can see staff meticulously cleaning the common areas, which was a great experience. (They don't clean your room during extended stays, so be aware if that's an issue for you.) Facilities: There's a public hot spring with a large pool and sauna (also open to day visitors, but closed for cleaning from 10 AM to 3 PM). If you don't like public baths, you can enjoy a private soak in the small wooden tub in your room anytime, which is fantastic – it's like getting a private onsen experience at an economy price. The ice cream, yogurt, and massage chairs on the second floor are also a huge plus. Dining: Since I stayed for several days, I booked a room without breakfast. If you decide you want breakfast on any given day, you can just go to the restaurant, swipe your card, and pay when you leave (2500 JPY per adult per meal). It's highly recommended if you love fresh seafood, offering Toyama's 'three treasures' (squid, white shrimp, and tiny rolls), as well as various sashimi and roe for you to create your own seafood bowl. Even for someone like me who doesn't eat much seafood, there were plenty of options like fried dishes, bread, and refreshing watermelon. Overall, I highly recommend this chain onsen hotel.

Five-star rating all around! I was a bit worried the 2019 renovation might feel old, but it absolutely doesn't – everything feels very new. They offer a pick-up service from the train station, or it's just a 300m walk. Inside the hotel, there are English-speaking staff, making communication a breeze. The buffet dinner was also good. There aren't many dining options on the hot spring street; besides one BBQ place, it's mostly set menus and ramen, so the hotel buffet is a better choice. For lunch, I recommend the cafe by the entrance; both the cakes and drinks were delicious. Since we visited in winter, we didn't book the scenic train, but we did go to the ski resort, which was perfect for kids. The foot bath next to the train station was super hot and incredibly relaxing. This is a great place to stay for two nights.

The hotel is very conveniently located. Everyone but Kia is coming out on the river. We had a room in the bathroom on the terrace, it's a great experience. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is very helpful and polite. The hotel itself is no longer new and you can see it from places. The shoes offered were very small to me and I felt uncomfortable with her sock. I thought the staff at the restaurant during dinner was very noisy, someone carried dishes in the corridor and she was very ripping( The dinner was very good and it was clear that the staff was explained in English. In general, the hotel left a positive impression, but not for such money. I think it is possible to live much cheaper in Hikone or Izu and with better quality.

Loved it! Even though it took a while to get there, and it's a shame it didn't snow, the hot springs inside were fantastic. There were three of them! I've stayed here before, and the staff are always so welcoming.

The staff were all very polite, kind, and generally wonderful. The amenities were great, and the room was clean. The hot spring was also very pleasant. If I had to point out one thing, it would be the dressing room in the hot spring. When I sat down to dry my hair, my eyes were drawn to the gap between the sink and the counter below, and I noticed some dust had accumulated there. The corners of the walls also had some dust. Since everything else was so clean, it was a bit disappointing. I would definitely like to stay here again.

Nice Japanese breakfast. Strategic location to get around Gokayama and Shirakawa. In front of the hotel is the biggest Gassho style house in Japan that has a long history of being owned by samurais and where the emporia family had visited many times and is considered a cultural heritage of Japan.. I would go back to this hotel because of its location.

Since it's a new facility, the entire hotel was clean and comfortable. I had mentally prepared for a small room, so I was fine with it; I just had a little trouble opening my suitcase. Even though my room was next to the elevator, I wasn't bothered by people or noise. From my 10th-floor room, I had a great view of Toyama Castle Park right in front. I went to breakfast early, so it wasn't too crowded. The freshly baked bread was delicious, and I really enjoyed having the local specialty, tororo kombu (grated kelp), over rice. The hotel is also close to the station, and I was able to walk there. On the way back, I took the tram. It's very convenient and compact, making it a good recommendation for families too.
