„The room in this hotel is the biggest room we have stayed in the trip in Northeast of China. The hotel is elegant. . The large room is equipped with modern lighting and electric curtain and also includes nice tea set. Breakfast is vast with many varieties of choices in the nice Japanese style restaurant. There is a concierge lady who helped guests arranging trip too. She is very friendly and supportive . What we like most is the ample space in the room that make us feel very comfortable. You can sip nice tea and be relaxed during the stay. We felt a bit sorry that we had only one day staying here because we really like this hotel. Even we stayed in Jilin only one day, we felt this hotel is very good hotel, and valued for money. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to all travellers who come to Jilin.”

„HI stayed at this hotel for a few nights, and its proximity to the railway station was very convenient. The room was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. However, communication was a bit challenging since no one at the reception spoke English. Despite this, the overall experience was decent, especially for travelers looking for a clean place near transport hubs.”

„The hotel is conveniently located by the park. There are many dining options in close proximity. The staff is very helpful and cooperative. The hotel itself is quite small which is nice. The amenities are outdated yet somewhat maintained. It worked for us because our family has two preschoolers. The breakfast is average. The Western type food is represented by baguette, peanut butter, doughnuts and granola. It was not an issue for us, we like Chinese food. We enjoyed our stay but next time would consider a different hotel.”

The coziness of the space actually added to the comfort of our stay, and we felt right at home. One of the highlights for me was the hotel slippers—they were incredibly soft, thick, and comfortable, offering a nice touch of luxury and relaxation. Another nice surprise was the hotel’s thoughtful gesture of providing free porridge in the evenings. After a long day of exploring, it was a warm and comforting treat to enjoy before bed. Additionally, the hotel is well-equipped with convenient amenities like washing machines and dryers, which is always a bonus when you're traveling for an extended period. For food lovers, it’s worth mentioning that the hotel is just a short walk from 新兴园饺子, a famous local dumpling restaurant. The proximity made it easy for us to enjoy some of the best dumplings in the area without having to travel far. Overall, the hotel provided a great balance of comfort, convenience, and service, making it a wonderful choice for anyone visiting the area.”

„I read extensive reviews before I booked this hotel a few months ago, and my experience staying 3 nights here did support those excellent reviews. The services were superior and the staff very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good and packed with sufficient proteins and nutrients to prepare for a full half day skiing. You can rent ski equipments ( even clothing) right at the basement conveniently after you are done eating. Ski passes and ski classes can be purchased right there, with the channel discount prices, so you avoid the hassle of doing these things at the Ski Service Center. There is a Tesla Model Y always ready to take you from hotel basement to the ski slopes (the ski-in and ski-out access was closed during my stay there but in most cases you could do it) and take you back to hotel whenever you call them a few minutes ahead of time). The hotel itself is located within walking distance to the ski lifts, so even without the transportation assistance, it is manageable by putting on ski boots and just walk back and forth with your skis. The room I booked has a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a living room with TV and dining table and a kitchen sink and stove ( but no utensils yet so don’t expect to cook meals there). Bottle waters and snacks were replenished daily for free. Besides its own dinning facilities and a small grocery store on the basement, there are plenty of options to eat and shop on the Main Street just down the road from the hotel. Overall, the New Story is a happy story and I look forward to returning in a year or two. (My advice for those who can afford flexible schedules, try to come here in slow season like now outside the Xmas and Chinese New Year windows, the snow is still quite good yet the crowds are not existent and you can get really good deals in staying, though the lift ticket is still not cheap, 430 RMB a or some $60-65 a day. Much more in busy season).”
