The best thing about the room is the location. It is right next to Ping Jiang Lu River area. We could go there early in the morning to enjoy the river and scenery before the crowd came. The room was quite dark. There was hardly any natural light other than light from a small air well. Not sure whether this is the same with other room types. The floor and furnishings are mostly black or dark in colour. Placement and design of room lighting could be improved. The room is quiet and good for a restful sleep. The tea and coffee provided in the room is delicious.

Gdybym miał znaleźć wadę, byłaby to nieco miękka poduszka.

The room is exactly as described, comfortable and clean! Shower pressure is great and water is hot enough. Breakfast was great too!

Exceptional service by both Xiao Zhang and Tip. They both made the stay memorable and delightful. Highly recommend this place for couples, friends, and family travel!

Only downside that the construction in front of the hotel can make the walk abit more challenging. But again, will still prefer to stay here!

Very friendly and helpful staff, the building is traditional and characteristic. Room facilities ok (very good shower with perfect temperature and pressure). In hindsight I wish I had booked one of the better rooms instead of a standard one because I think the level of comfort improves greatly. Breakfast is Chinese style, nicely put together. If you need coffee with your breakfast, please be warned that there is none at the property but you can just steps outside onto the Main Street and you will find several coffee shops for your fix. I do recommend staying at a Chinese traditional hotel rather than a modern hotel in Suzhou.

I had a wonderful stay at Wenlv Gusu Yard Donghuali. It’s more of a charming 民宿 than a traditional hotel, and that’s exactly what makes the experience so special.
The service was exceptional. We had very heavy luggages, and the staff immediately offered to help us carry them up the stairs to our rooms. If you order food delivery, the staff will also kindly bring it straight to your room, and they were consistently helpful with any of our requests. They also prepare a healthy and delicious breakfast every morning, which was a lovely way to start the day.
The location can be a little inconvenient at first as the 民宿 is tucked deep inside a quiet lane, but once you get oriented, you’ll find that it is actually very close to many popular attractions. We appreciated the balance - peaceful surroundings while still being within walking distance of key sights.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with beautiful views of the courtyard. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.

Our trip to Suzhou was way more memorable thanks to this amazing accommodation! Our big family from the youngests to the oldests were very impressed by how spacious and beautiful this house is. All of us were upgraded to bigger rooms than the ones we booked, some even had private courtyard/ corridor and each room was given such a beautiful name ”Looking at the rain”, ”Waiting for the moon”, ”The faraway scent”... This ancient house has beautiful features that were elegantly preserved while modern touches such as huge screen TV, smart toilette, and good lighting system make it more relevant and convenient. There's a lot of info on this house's long history displayed around - one more reason to admire it. What a good example of preserving and embracing cultural values! Eventhough there was a significant language barrier, thr staffs were really really generous, supportive, warm, and lovely just like the big breakfast meals they prepared for us every day. We hardly find any reason not to choose this place again the next time we come back to Suzhou!

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, and the service staff were friendly and attentive. The location is quite convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation.

A couple of small downsides: there was no full-length mirror in the room, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, the hotel is located at a dead-end street, so cars have to reverse out after dropping you off, which might be tricky for some drivers.

Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay with just a few minor inconveniences. Would recommend!
