We took a taxi to this location because it was a little too far by bus, and we had all of our luggage with us. The location is beautiful. If you're only staying for one night like we did, then you should check in at the earliest (3:00 pm) so you can explore the local area. There are some really nice shrines nearby. We were only able to do this after breakfast the next morning. We also had to be out by 10:00 am, which surprised us because it was listed as 11:00 am on Trip.com. You will be served traditional Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast. They do an excellent job of presenting all of the dishes, and the service is also incredible. But if you're not used to eating raw fish, or traditional Japanese cuisine in general, you should definitely bring your own snacks to eat in your room! We stayed in the Garden view room with tatami mats. The staff will actually rearrange the room for you during dinner and set up your beds if you select this room. That was a very nice touch, so make sure you don't leave your room a total mess before dinner! I have added a picture of the beds after they were set up. The garden view was well worth the money we spent for it. Very relaxing and beautiful. And surprisingly enough...the tatami beds were super comfortable and warm!

Service: Fantastic! Staff are extremely helpful and kind, thank you! We're offered welcome drink and dessert. Staff even helped to bring our luggages to the room. Facilities: Great! Very quiet and private. Everything in the room are complimentary :) Room: Everything's great! Onsen in room is nice! To improve: Have more hooks/space to hang clothes will be even better. Bed is too soft to our likings. We didn't use the chair in the shower area too..

The location was great, close to shops, restaurants, night life, blah blah blah. Typical Japanese hotel experience: tiny room, 100% plastic bathroom, pick up your pillow, pjs, amenities in the lobby… If you want your room cleaned, it is a four-hour process from 11:00am to 3:00pm during which time you cannot use your room and the door to your room remains propped open.  But…free booze from 6:00-8:00pm more than makes up for all of the other inconveniences!

The hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid. We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens. For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks. We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive. The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Tym razem, kiedy przyjechałem do Japonii, chciałem skorzystać z okazji, by samemu doświadczyć tatami i zanurzyć się w japońskim gorącym źródle, więc wybrałem ten. Uważam, że generalnie jest dobry. Hotel znajduje się dość blisko stacji metra Tanbaguchi, około siedmiu minut spacerem. Wystrój wnętrza jest typowo japoński. Recepcja jest pełna przystojnych mężczyzn i pięknych kobiet. Spotkałem też osobę mówiącą po chińsku. Na drugim piętrze hotelu znajduje się restauracja, na trzecim gorące źródło, a na czwartym gorące źródło na świeżym powietrzu, co jest bardzo autentyczne. W pobliżu hotelu znajdują się dzielnice mieszkalne i wiele miejsc, w których można zjeść. Jest też park, w którym wiele osób biegnie. Próbowaliśmy ryżu z węgorzem, sushi i zimnego makaronu w restauracji na drugim piętrze hotelu Kyoto. Było pyszne! Pobliska izakaya jest również bardzo autentyczna, a cena jest uczciwa. Następnym razem, gdy przyjadę do Japonii, rozważę ponowny pobyt.

It wasn’t that close to the Jr station But there is a bus stop in front of the hotel, it can take you to most the area for a tourist, like Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kiyomizu-dera The room was clean, size also good for one person But the hot pool wasn’t so clean, maybe during the new year holiday, there were many visitors, host didn’t clean in time, need improve

The hotel is very pretty, Andre Fu never fails to impress! Breakfast was nice with good variety to choose from, would be great if we can have a drink menu as well. The room was a bit small for 3 ladies and the bathroom is quite transparent. Would be great if switchable smart glass is used instead for the bathroom window for privacy. Despite the minor inconvenience, the bathtub is amazing and spacious. It’s perfect for couple. The thermal spring is clean and is usually not busy. The hotel provides swim suit for guests as it is a mixed pool. The service was smooth and the environment is very relaxing. The only thing we didn’t like about the spring was that there is no natural lights as it is located in the basement. Don’t miss out on the morning breathing session! Special shoutout to the concierge team as they very efficiently helped us with restaurant and workshops recommendation and bookings prior to our arrival. Taxis were arranged promptly every time. We had a really good time in Kyoto and we can’t wait to come back again!
