Absolutely loved this hotel! The interiors are stunning and rooms are spacious and well decorated with ample amenities. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The breakfast spread was the best I’ve had in Japan … includes very good ala carte options as well. Would definitely recommend to all visiting Kyoto.

The 4 nights stay at Kyoto Umekoji Kadensho Onsen Hotel was relaxing and memorable, with cozy tatami-style rooms and very clean facilities. The private onsens were excellent, and the free snacks, ramen, and matcha drinks made the experience feel extra welcoming. The location near Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station and bus stop made getting around Kyoto convenient.

Outstanding experience at Hotel Granvia Kyoto. Staying here made our Kyoto trip effortless, especially with the hotel located right above Kyoto Station. Trains, buses and shopping are just steps away, which saved us so much time and energy. The hospitality was excellent. The staff were polite, attentive and very efficient, making us feel welcomed immediately. Check in was smooth and the overall service throughout our stay was consistently professional. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable, perfect for resting after a full day of sightseeing. This hotel combines prime location with refined service and comfort. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. Truly a five star experience.

Potel Umokoji Kyoto redefines what a hotel offers its guests. Firstly, the location is unique, an easy 5 min walk from the station ( Umokoji Kyotonishi) and 3 min train ride to the center of Kyoto. Yet this convenience is coupled with its location adjoining a large wooded park which some guest rooms overlook - a special and calm outlook right in the city centre. Rooms are large by Japan standards and both the Japanese style rooms ( super comfy ) and more traditional Western styled rooms offer a Scandanavian/ Japanese decor style which is both modern and uncluttered. In addition, guest services on offer include complementary DIY fresh brewed coffee and in the evenings, complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks . Can be taken either to your room with balcony overlooking parklands or in the guest book or music library, both offering a calm respite from a sometimes frenetic Kyoto CBD. Unique, special and largely overlooked by tourist group bookings, the Potel Umokoji manages to offer the ambience and guest experiences that many mass tourism venues have lost. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Dear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Duży pokój. Czysty. Uprzejmy i pomocny personel. Śniadanie dobre, zwłaszcza japońskie. Byłoby lepiej, gdyby zwrócono większą uwagę na recykling i ochronę środowiska oraz ograniczono używanie jednorazowych akcesoriów.

Location: Superb! Located between 2 stations - SANJO and Kyoto shiyakusho-Mae station. Shiyakusho-Mae is nearer to the hotel (exit 1),  about a min walk away after climbing two flights of stairs. However, if you have luggage, would suggest to go via exit 3, take the lift to another hotel lobby (I can’t recall the hotel name). Solaris is across the street from this hotel. I don’t see any lift if taking exit 1.  Amenities Good selection and of good quality. They use Laura Ashley toiletries. Amenities can be picked up at the reception - you take what you need - hair band, cotton pads/buds, toothbrush, comb etc. Food I did not order breakfast from the hotel. There are cafes around and at the underground mall. The hotel will provide you with a list of cafes and restaurants serving local Kyoto food and other cuisines.  Reception  Staff are friendly and welcoming. There is luggage delivery between hotels. I left my luggage at reception before 10am And the luggage was delivered to my hotel at Osaka by 6pm. Room I booked  triple room facing the river. The view was pleasant and my room was located on the second floor so I can see guests and locals exercising and jogging along the riverbank. Room is clean. I did not use the public bath located at basement level.  There is bath tub in the room, sea salt, the towels, stool and a little basin are provided.

Clean and big room for family stay. There is shuttle bus to nearer railway station. Provide a nice mineral water , nice coffee and good breakfast.

Large hotel located in a very convenient location close to train stations and shopping centres. There are two breakfast options in which you can choose to eat at a diversified buffet or a set menu in an observation deck on the 14th floor. The hotel itself is a bit old but renovated inside. Overall, it's very luxurious for the price but the bedding were not too comfortable. Free shuttle departs every 20 minutes between Kyoto station and the hotel. Super convenient for shopping at the station or transferring large luggages. Water and ice filler locations are available on each floor. The gym cost extra to use. Luggage delivery is possible within the hotel as well (cash only).

Ogólnie pobyt był udany, chociaż dość długi spacer od stacji w Kioto, ale droga jest płaska. Dwie małe uwagi: jeśli wypożyczysz rower, nie ma gdzie zaparkować. Żeński onsen nie jest tak czysty jak w innych hotelach, w których byłem w Japonii, widzę sporo włosów unoszących się w powietrzu. Mimo wszystko, za tę cenę, całkiem przyzwoite, a jedzenie jest również całkiem pyszne. Przypomina mi szkolną stołówkę. Dołączyłem zdjęcia jedzenia w celach informacyjnych.
