„I chose another accommodation nearby the train station (and airport), but that was cancelled, so Trip.com bumped me up to this accommodation. It was conveniently close to the train station and they offer a free airport shuttle service. The room was what you would expect, although for this price I would expect there to be a fridge in the room - but it seems that in China this is a rare amenity. The check-in staff were very slow, and didn't ask any questions after I handed them my passport. My 64-page passport is almost completely full of stamps and visas (including many Chinese visas), but because they didn't (want to) ask, I just let them leave through it for almost 5 minutes until they found my most recent entry stamp into China.”

„Simply great place! Excellent value for money, the place is full of beautiful vineyards of grapes, the place looks like in a fairy tale. There is a shuttle that comes quickly and efficiently. The room in the shape of a wine barrel is great and clean, the staff is very nice and efficient, they helped us quite a bit. The breakfast is great and varied and there are also vegetarian options. There is a possibility of free laundry, and the reception is really available 24/7. The winery tour was beautiful and the long canal is very impressive. The shuttle from the train to the hotel and from the hotel to the train worked great. To improve - the pool was dirty throughout our stay, other than that it is just an amazing place! We will be back again in the future”

„酒店周邊環境一般，客房在二樓和三樓，樓下有一家川菜館，有麪館和早餐店，車位在馬路兩旁和樓後。酒店工作人員素質不錯，客人進店都會熱情打招呼，入住辦理很快，房間較小，但是乾淨整潔，新開店，硬件設施都挺新，我最喜歡是他家的衞浴地板顏色，啞光灰色，大氣又上檔次，洗澡水很好，床墊也可以，不理解的是以吐魯番這樣極端温度的地方，被子為什麼要那麼厚，為了蓋這個被子，又要把空調温度調但很低，這不浪費電嗎？還有一個問題就是每天從外面返回房間，推門就會聞到強烈的異味，仔細找又不是衞浴間傳出來的，不知從何而來，窗户都關緊的，不存在外面飄進來，但連續兩天都有這個現象，希望酒店能解決。總的來説，作為新開酒店，還不錯的。”

„We absolutely love our brief stay at this hotel. The check in service was speedy and pleasant. The receptionists were friendly and went up and above to serve us. This is by far the best hotel for our trip to Xinjiang. There are 2 sets of complimentary washers and dryers for guests for which is really helpful. The only downside is there is only 1 set of lift (for our wing) and the wait can be long during peak breakfast hours.”

„At the entrance of the Youth Hostel is a row of mulberry trees, successfully realizing the freedom of mulberry, and eating cool! The proprietress was very enthusiastic and told us where there were small white apricots to pick. It was near the Youth Hostel. There were indeed many. There was still a little sour and the big one was very sweet! The bosses organized barbecues and invited us to eat together, a super good experience! Also lent us an electric car to facilitate our travel. Stay here next time you come to Turpan!”

„Wonderful and friendly hostel at a great quiet and central location. Grocery stores nextdoor, and a range of restaurants within a short walk.
The room was large and comfortable, with hot water in the shower. We enjoyed the courtyard as well.
A special note to the helpful staff, who organized our day trip van, and ordered the taxi to the airport.

The desert is lonely, but at this luxury hotel on the edge of the Kumtag Desert in Shanshan, that solitude becomes a poetic experience. Golden sand dunes undulate silently, like the breath of the earth. Here, time slows to a crawl, and the world becomes nothing but the desert, the starry sky, and the throbbing of the soul.
The tents, nestled in the desert, look like an ancient caravan camp from afar, but upon closer inspection, the interior reveals a warm and luxurious atmosphere. Soft carpets and understated yet sophisticated lighting create a perfect blend of desolation and comfort. In the evening, we soaked in the hot water in the open-air bath, watching the sunset paint the dunes a rouge hue. In that moment, it felt as if the entire desert whispered to us.
Dinner that evening was a feast we could never have imagined. The lamb short ribs, simmered for 36 hours, are tender yet not mushy. The tendon is crisp, and the aroma of ginger and chili dances on the tongue. The ox knee is soft and flavorful, and the rich tomato sauce is like a love poem from the Western Regions. The spiced aroma of the flatbreads and roast chicken carries the flavors of merchants and travelers from thousands of years ago. I can't help but wonder if in ancient tents, kings, princes, and generals sat together, drinking tea, eating meat, and discussing the country.
After dinner, we drank tea under the stars. The cool desert breeze blew against our faces, but we didn't feel cold. The stars in the sky, distant yet close, seemed like the most gentle gaze on travelers. That night, the desert was no longer empty, but filled with our dreams and romance.

GGośćShanshan is a small town and if you do come here, it would be to visit the Kumtaq desert. The desert is 15-20 minutes from the hotel, so is the Shanshanbei railway station. I recommend this hotel because of the service of the front desk staff, Ms Xiaoba who goes above and beyond to help. She was responsive on wechat and organised a car to pick us up, she willingly booked a taxi for as we couldn’t find the address to the night market on our DIDI app., she provided extra water and answered any questions with a smile. This is a new hotel so looks clean and fresh with a smart toilet. They even have tents/ tepees so if you have a kid, this is a welcome. I saw a room with spiderman and Barbie princess theme too. The breakfast has many Chinese options and they are well cooked and delicious. They do have a coffee machine. I’d stay here again if I were to revisit. Kumtaq Desert is worth a visit and the second golf cart/sightseeing mini bus drives you right to the end and brings you back to the second station. The other deserts we visited didn’t have this. Small town, big heart, great service, amazing people! VA

GGośćThe locations is nice, close to or in the grape valley, service is friendly, we stayed at the family room which is a duplex and had a good sleep. For the high price of 1.200 Yuan would have expected lights at entrance area of complex, more luxurious reception area (currently more Chinese boarding house style), bedside tables with lights, more than a basic breakfast.
It’s a nice place for 300-500 max, for 1200 you usually get a luxury resort and service in China.

Xiao Pan and Sha Sha earn special points for helping me with a Captcha with Chinese characters! Free transfer from the railway station and back to the airport. 100% recommended.

AAndrew BeagrieLocation very good in the city centre. You can walk to the museum and lake in a few minutes. Lots of restaurants and a good supermarket minutes away. Staff at check in very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good, if you like Chinese style. Room was spacious and modern. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in for a long time! Aircon was reasonable - temperatures outside were still quite mild for Turpan. However, if I was booking in the summer months I would check reviews on Trip beforehand to make sure it was coping with the high temperatures. No fridge in the room, which was a surprising for a modern 4 star hotel and would be another disadvantage in the summer months there. Breakfast only starts at 0800. On the day I left, I had to get a taxi at 0750. The lovely ayis in the kitchen gave me a box of food to go and slept encouraging me to take even more food! However, no one was on at reception at that time! Overall, good in many areas but needs to improve in others.

SStuart McD.Lee was a great host, speaks excellent English, and was very helpful with suggestions on both things to do around Turpan and also border crossing how to info. The dorm was clean, and supplied with clean linen (make your own bed), and with an attached hot water bathroom. The lodgings are simple, but there’s plenty of space, and upon arrival I was invited to eat dinner (pictured) with Lee and some other guests—delicious! After dinner they screened a movie on an exterior wall.
The location is midway between the station and Turpan proper, neither of which are comfortable walking distance, but taxis are cheap and easy to get. The hostel is within easy walking distance of one of the very interesting water irrigation museums, and there’s a good Uighur restaurant about ten minutes away on foot.
If you’re on a budget, looking for a “traveller vibe” style place, and don’t mind the slightly out of the way location, this is a great option. Would stay here again.

22morrowsworldThis 4 star hotel has a goid rating on Trip.com and I can understand why. However, I liken this hotel to a 20 year old luxury car such as an E36 7 series BMW or Lexus LS 430. Exceptional and glorious when new, but getting old and tired fast.
On a superficial level the rooms look grand and sumptuous, but on greater scrutiny there are issues. One if these are the carpets, which are either in dire need of steam cleaning on a forensic level of thoroughness, or outright replacement. Some sections are worn and faded, while many odd bits and pieces can be found (and felt with bare feet), that seem to have escaped the attention of the room staff, e.g toothpicks, other miscellaneous refuse deposited by previous guests.
I booked a continental double room, for $68 AUD per night and there was a misalignment of the door with its frame. Large enough to see through to the outside! The room contained a sofa Comfortable enough but with fabric badly worn away. The white veneer paint on tables has seen better days.
Having said all this, overall, the hotel offers rooms of a relatively high standard. Ornate furnishings, large, extremely comfortable beds and pillows, a huge bathroom with sufficient water pressure and responsive hot water on demand (bathroom has a smart lighting arrangement which switches on via a sensor).
There are a dozen individual controls for room lighting. Lots of cupboards and drawers and powerpoints where needed. There is a gym but for some undisclosed reason is currently closed, of February 2024. Is a buffet style restaurant with several guests dining in it which looked very well staffed. Reception will go out of their way to give assistance with arranging tours, ordering taxis etc, and try to ensure guests are satisfied. In summary, the hotel looks good and to some extent is good, but may not be worth paying $50 US a night to stay in and was a little disappointing.

EemdethuongFirst and foremost, this hotel accepts foreigners. The hotel is quite ok but not great. I booked a no-window non-smoking room (don’t do it, go for room with window) because I thought there is more chance people still smoke in non-smoking rooms with windows.
The first room they gave me, put the key card on and electricity didn’t work. Waited for them to check with no result so I was relocated to another room. It’s non-smoking but I can clearly smell the smoke. Took 2 days for the smoke smell to go away which is a pity.
The room is small but enough for a solo like me. Each floor they built 4 lines of rooms, the 2 middle lines stay wall-to-wall to each other and are the ‘no-window’ rooms. I would definitely recommend you to choose the room with window, because it means you don’t share a lot of ‘walls’ to other room and have a window to open at least for circulation if room is smelly or if room is too hot. In my case, my room smells smoke, and the room heater system only allows 34-37 degree celsius which is crazy! Very hot if turned on so I had to turn it off the whole time I stay at the hotel. Even though it is winter time, the whole hotel is already on heater. Unable to adjust room temperature is annoying because it means no air circulation. There is a blowing machine (similar to a fan) in the room but it is not efficient quickly enough. The room feels extremely suffocating. I did really wish for a window. Also because the no-window rooms share 3 walls with other rooms (not counting the upper floor), it’s more bad-luck chances for weird noise. In my case, I had to endure one whole freaking night with 2 loud Uyghur couples who cannot hold themselves back from banging the freak out and making all kinds of terrible terrible noise. Seems like no soundproof for these walls.
