I very much liked my stay here, the room was clean and peaceful, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had everything I needed, and the hotel location was good as it was near Dingsheng Plaza and also along a north-south main road that many major routes in the city travel on. The front desk staff spoke no English, and I only speak very basic Mandarin, but they were able to still fully assist me and help me check in and check out, especially Yun Zhan (云湛), who explained everything with hand gestures and simple words and demonstrated how to do some things too. Thank you very much! This was the first time I stayed at an Atour hotel but I was impressed and would definitely stay here or at another Atour hotel again. There was also free laundry but I did not know how to use it and it was outside the room and down a busy elevator so I never tried it in the end. :D There are very few negatives and most of them are not fixable. One is that I did not like that the toilet was in another room from the bathroom, as I use all of them together and so I had to go back and forth between the two rooms a lot. A second that can be negative for some people is that there was a lot of honking from vehicles, 24 hours a day. However, I actually liked this because the sound was muted, so there was a ”far away busy city” vibe that made me happy. Lastly, the free night time porridge was very watery and not nice at all when I tried it.

I recently stayed at the Berman Hotel (Zhanjiang Dingsheng Plaza, Seaside Park) while visiting Zhanjiang, and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Every interaction was friendly and made me feel truly valued as a guest. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable and had all the essentials for a relaxing stay. I was impressed by how well-maintained everything was. After a long day of exploring the city, it was the perfect place to unwind. One of the highlights of my stay was the fantastic breakfast. There was a wide selection of delicious options, both local and international, catering to different tastes. It really gave me a great start to my day. Overall, the Berman Hotel offers a delightful experience with its friendly atmosphere, top-notch service, and attention to detail. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Berman Hotel (Zhanjiang Dingsheng Plaza, Seaside Park)—you won’t be disappointed!

This trip with kids was truly heartwarming! We arrived late, exhausted, and worried about our children getting enough rest. Unexpectedly, the front desk staff was incredibly thoughtful. Seeing I was traveling with my child, they proactively upgraded us to a family twin room! The room was incredibly playful, with colorful cartoon-themed decor and a small tent and toys for the kids. The kids were thrilled the moment they walked in, completely forgetting their travel fatigue and having a blast. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and there were even slippers specifically for the kids—so many thoughtful details. From this stay, I could tell you the hotel's exceptional service and thoughtful consideration for every guest. Not only did they alleviate our worries, but they also gave our children an unexpected treat. I highly recommend this hotel to parents traveling with kids—it's a surefire choice! I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip!

We chose this hotel for its convenient location—just a short walk to the shopping mall—and were pleased with several aspects of our stay. The rooms are genuinely smoke-free and fresh, which we greatly appreciated. Generally, the service from the front desk was polite and helpful. Special mention to staff 6018 for allowing a late check out. Breakfast: The offering was focusing on staple carbohydrates like rice, congee, noodles, and buns. However, given that the hotel's restaurant specializes in local dim sum, it felt like a missed opportunity not to feature a few of these signature items on the breakfast buffet. A curated selection would have elevated the meal from simply filling to a more distinctive and enjoyable experience. Areas for Improvement: Our stay was impacted by a few operational inconsistencies. The most noticeable was the lingering smell of cigarette smoke in the hotel corridors, which contrasted with the clean air in the rooms. We also encountered a persistent issue with a malfunctioning toilet in our first room. While the front desk was responsive in offering a room change, the process became confusing due to conflicting messages from different staff members. This back-and-forth, which lasted into the late evening, was frustrating. The situation was only resolved when we firmly communicated our need to change rooms. We hope the hotel can improve internal communication to handle such issues more seamlessly. A small suggestion for enhanced service would be more proactive assistance with luggage, especially for elderly guests, when staff are available. In summary, this is a hotel with strong positives: a great location and clean, comfortable rooms. We would consider staying again, hoping the operational hiccups we faced are addressed. With a few refinements—particularly to leverage its culinary strength at breakfast—it has clear potential to be excellent.

Location was good as it was the closest hotel to where our relatives lived. Close to a Walmart and a mall, plus at night there seems to be a market that pops up. If you go towards the river, there will be fruit vendors at night too. If you are wondering if their 1.3 m twin beds can fit a couple, it’s really (really) pushing it so maybe book a room with larger beds if that is a concern.  Also, while they have a self serve laundry room, it’s only open until 10 PM and they will lock it irregardless if you have clothes in the washer and then you will have to find a staff member to unlock the door and free your clothing so please pay heed. It’s also not open in the early morning until late and shares a space with the gym (so also locked during the time when people would want to be exercising) which is weird, but the staff justifies it as not bothering the people sleeping during that time. Perhaps they should invest in soundproofing during their next renovation because it’s super inconvenient.

The counter service is best. i) When we arrived at this hotel, the lady receiptionist gave a warm welcome and ask us to leave a contact number becuase if we left behind somethings, she can called us immediately when checking out. We are Malaysians and do not have the China telephone number, instead i gave my Wechat contact to her for easy communication. The second day while we are on the train from Zhanjiang West to Haikou, we received a message from the receiptionist saying that one package of souvenir was left behind. She done all the trouble to pack nicely the souvenir and looking for the fastest courier service to our hotel in Haikou as we will be leaving China in two days. Thank you lady, your service is the best and we have received the package the night before departure. Although the souvenir is not costly, but your service warm our heart. We wish your hotel be proseprous in the near future. ii) On the day of arrival, we went to the next street to have late lunch and sudden rain came. The lady receiptionist offer to send umbralla to us. iii) During check out, she assisted us to book transport to the train station. The hotel room is not big but it is nicely set up. There are plenty of foods outlets along the street and at night the place is busy with many food stalls/hawkers just infront of the hotel.

位置在熱鬧的萬達廣場，我們要傍晚才入住，店家下午就主動問了我們到店時間，告之房間號和密碼，給的定位也很準確。我們一家四口，大的孩子已經成年了，因此需2個房間。春節期間，他們這個價格還是很合理的。店家給的是一個帶洗衣機的，一個沒有洗衣機的房間，都是提前微信告知的。春節期間樓下美食店全部都開門，不需要再打車出去吃飯。這個位置到紅嘴鷗遊船或者老街，打車都是方便的。去湛江 北站也衹需要19分鐘。 特別感謝一下，我們早上離開去趕高鐵。孩子的耳機掉在房間裏面，店家很快就幫我們找到了，幫我快遞迴家。 冬天來湛江旅遊是個很好的地方！

LOCATION The immediate neighborhood isn't the most interesting, but it's very convenient if you're passing through Zhanjiang Station. It's a 10-minute walk. There are more restaurants and shops near/around the station. SERVICE Excellent welcome and excellent customer service. They made it easy for me to print an important travel document. ENVIRONMENT Quiet neighborhood. Very well-maintained hotel for a budget hotel. Quality furnishings. Due to its layout, the (small) room 501 was actually spacious enough for one person, clean, quiet, and bright. I would suggest adding a luggage rack, considering the available space, to make it perfect for avoiding having to keep luggage on the floor (especially when you have backpacks). BREAKFAST No breakfast service. AMENITIES *The room had a hairdryer and an electric kettle. Bottled water was provided. Very good quality bedding. Good air conditioning. Wi-Fi: didn't work, but that might be due to the VPN I'm required to use as a foreigner. Laundry room - well-maintained. 1 washing machine and 1 dryer. Detergent provided. Excellent value for money.

The room was okay but the water pipes were making a very loud noise which was annoying. The staff were very friendly, attentive and the bed comfortable.

Zhanjiang Xu Wen Tianrunhui store 20250207-08 Struggling to find reception, as on 2nd floor in building of shopping centre. They do not understand! Just keep saying don't understand: ”wǒ tīng bù dǒng”. Not helpful at all! Just keep on typing on translator and not in WeChat. Very difficult to know where to park in parking garage beneath the shopping centre building. After driving around, found a sign to hotel, but not at entrance to parking garage. Morning staff as unfriendly as evening staff. Just shouting at me! I kept on saying ”Weixin”. Lateron she registered... The trip.com awards were for 2020 and 2022 - definitely not for reception staff in 2025! 😰 Room can get the reward! Room and bathroom very clean. There are hooks for the towels, which are very rare. Shower floor didn't look good. USB ports to charge directly. Room is small. Bed very good. Large window and balcony. Big mirror with light around it in bathroom and full length mirror next to cupboard. Room doesn't have good sound proof - hear everything next door. Quite noisy from outside from early morning . Night market on street level in front of building and shopping centre. @
