Splendid Hotel la Torre ★★★★
"This hotel was absolutely terrible. We booked two standard rooms and arrived at 9 PM to check in, and that's when everything went downhill. First, the air conditioning in the first room was completely broken. The indoor temperature was at least 35 degrees Celsius, even hotter than the lobby. In 40-degree Sicily, it was impossible to sleep. Secondly, the bathroom in the second room smelled awful, and the odor filled the entire standard room. Given the situation, I spoke with the front desk staff, asking them to help us. The hotel sent a maintenance worker. They tried restarting the power in the first room, but it didn't work. In the second room, they poured toilet freshener down the drain, also to no avail. So, I went downstairs to talk to the front desk manager. We followed them down. I suggested changing to two different rooms, but the hotel claimed they had no available rooms for the night and that we could wait until tomorrow morning. However, it's impossible to rest in a 35-40 degree room. We insisted that they at least fix the air conditioning so we could stay, or switch our rooms. Next, the hotel provided us with a 50cm-tall portable air conditioner for the room, connected to the outside balcony. But to use this 'air conditioner,' the balcony door had to remain open, and the unit was incredibly noisy, making it impossible to sleep. I had no choice but to demand a room change. Then, the hotel manager said that a room change was not possible, and if we couldn't stay, we should just leave. Being in a foreign country and it being 10 PM, I still tried to negotiate with the hotel rather than just checking out immediately. I then asked the front desk if they could guarantee a room change for us in the morning. At this point, the front desk surprisingly changed their tune, saying they weren't sure and it depended on availability in the morning... My fellow countrymen, this completely contradicted their earlier promise of a room change in the morning. I was incredibly frustrated and angry, and was forced to leave the hotel. Before leaving, I specifically asked the front desk to confirm if I would receive a full refund, as the hotel's room quality was below acceptable standards and I could not stay. The male staff member at the front desk promised that yes, we would, but we would need to email the hotel. So, I left the hotel feeling reassured. I also promptly informed Trip.com customer service about the situation. In the following days, I learned from Trip.com customer service that the hotel refused to refund us for two nights... I was absolutely furious. Fortunately, we had taken photos and video evidence. In the end, thanks to Trip.com customer service manager Mr. Xu, we successfully received our refund. A big thank you to Mr. Xu from Trip.com. My fellow countrymen, Italy as a whole is a wonderful travel destination, and I will visit again. Isolated issues with individual hotels do not detract from Italy's charm, but please, for the love of all that is good, avoid this particular hotel at all costs."

The walls in the rooms are so thin you can hear your neighbors talking. On the beach opposite, there's music, noise, shouting, and parties until 4 a.m. It's a shame. If you want to de-stress...and relax...this isn't the place, unless you enforce or respect the public order."

"Mieliśmy niesamowite pobyt w Villa Masetta. Lokalizacja jest idealna dla plaży, sklepów i restauracji. Mieć prywatną plaży po drodze było luksusowe nie trzeba podróżować i było łatwo pop w ciągu dnia. Basen w willi jest zablokowany i pewne dni czułem, jakbyś miał go dla siebie! Śniadanie było piękne przygotowane z dużym wyborem i bardzo relaksowany. Napoje przy basenie były spektakularnym popołudniowym z przekąskami wliczonymi. Pokój był ładnie wymiarów i doskonale czysty i miał wszystkie luksusowe udogodnienia oczekiwane. Jednak przede wszystkim rodzina jest tak miły, przyjemny i pomocny, aby pobyt naprawdę niezapomniany. Naprawdę mamy nadzieję wrócić tu, aby odpocząć i ponownie naładować."

"I would highly highly recommend booking this B&B. The location is perfect, just a short walk to mondello beach with many nearby restaurants. The facilities are fantastic, extra large and extra comfortable bed, very clean and modern bathroom, good air-conditioning to keep the room cool and a lovely garden with a nice swimming pool and diving board. Amazing! Breakfast was also delicious! Robert and his family really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and help you have the best time possible. They were all so friendly and Robert helped us with taxis and also provided some fantastic recommendations for food and activities. We had amazing food every day in Mondello and also hired a boat for the day which was one of the highlights of our holiday. Our stay at this B&B was perfect, I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be returning in the future!"

"A very clean, bright apartment with two rooms and a kitchen—it has everything you need! The veranda is wonderful, it's a pleasure to spend evenings there. There are two air conditioners, and the owner is planning to install Wi-Fi. A wonderful sea view! The owner checked us in early and checked us out late, and we are very grateful! The pool is stunning, but swimming caps are required! It also has its own private access to the sea! There's a small rocky beach."
