Because the mornings were still very cold, we received a hot water bottle and blankets during the drives. And the rangers went above and beyond to show us the most beautiful sights. "Catered for my lactose-intolerance to the point I was so full I couldn’t eat the delicious cakes and delicacies the kitchen made. The safaris are incredible with hot water bottles and blankets, half-time coffee for the morning safari and beverages and snacks on the afternoons. Our guide (Kenneth) was incredible making the small moments valuable like star-gazing and pointing out constellations to having coffee with a giraffe. Of course you’ll see the big 5 but those special moments were so meaningful and made the trip so special."

"20 hours in a vehicle dedicated to finding wildlife within a self-proclaimed Big 5 nature reserve yielded the following results: no lions, no leopards, only 1 rhinoceros, only 1 buffalo, some elephants, giraffes, kudus, and impalas. It's quite disappointing for someone who crossed the ocean for a safari. There's no animal density here. There's a lot of heterogeneity among the rangers; some drive at 30 mph without any ability to find the animals. Only one of them really made an effort. Honestly, I don't recommend this lodge for safaris. Food was okay, drinks were okay, and the staff were dedicated. But it didn't work for what I needed. We will certainly return to Africa in other countries to actually see the animals."
umVangati House
"Wow Wow Wow. We were really excited to stat at UmVangati House, and the 5 star reviews are a testament to the service which Lidia, Giel, Jacob and Sonia all provide from start to finish. We were travelling to South Africa for a once in a lifetime holiday, with a stop in the Green Canyon. The House were able to arrange various activities whilst we were staying with them, including a spectacular tour of the Panorama route (with lunch included); a horseback ride to a private vantage point a the Three Rondawels; and, a private helicopter tour for two (including a picnic(!) prepared by the team at UmVangati to have on a short stop) over the Green Canyon. To top it off, the helicopter was able to land close to the house! This was truly spectacular! We opted for dinner on the both nights that we were staying at umVangati, which we'd highly recommend. Make sure you ask to see the wine cellar, as it's incredible. The food was lovingly prepared by the team and has a really playful cuisine feel, something you'd expect to see in a high-end restaurant in London for a very reasonable price. It was one of the best meals we had in South Africa across our 10 day visit to the country - so a huge credit to the team here. We'd originally booked the King room, but Sonia managed to persuade us to upgrade to a Mountain View Suite on our day of arrival - and it was worth the upgrade just for the view of the mountain and the private balcony (although we didn't have much time to use it!). We cannot recommend umVangati enough - the only thing we'd change was making sure we had even longer there, as two days is not enough time to enjoy the beauty and loving hospitality that awaits you."

"We spent two nights at Safari Moon Lodge in Hoedspruit and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic, the staff are extremely friendly, and our room was beautiful. The food was outstanding and the pool was a real highlight — not only great for relaxing, but also offering amazing views with wild animals coming right up to the area. Overall, we were delighted with our stay. Everything was wonderful and we can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable experience."

"This was my fourth visit to River Lodge within the Karongwe Game Reserve. Such a special place. River Lodge is beautifully situated beside the Makutsi river. After the recent heavy rains we could view crocodile and hippo from the raised deck as we ate. On previous visits we have been able to see crocodile from the deck but not Hippo. On each visit we have seen the Big 5 within 2 game drives. Karongwe has run a leopard project resulting in an abundant population of leopard within the reserve, always the hardest member of the Big 5 to spot. The food is excellent. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and well situated."

"Od początku komunikacja z Nyaleti Lodge była wspaniała! Nigdy nie byliśmy w Afryce Południowej, nie mówiąc o Hoedspruit. Wysłaliśmy komunikat w sprawie kolacji w mieście i transportu do lotniska, aby odebrać nasz samochód wynajmu. Oferowali do załatwienia transportu i wszystko poszło gładko. Po przyjeździe Andrea powitała nas i pokazała nam nasz piękny pokój. Miło było, że wyposażony był w mini lodówkę i umieścił na dużych karafach z świeżą, zimną wodą. W środku znajdziesz dzikich zwierząt roaming społeczności - widzieliśmy impala, zebra i warthog podczas tamtej pobytu. Z pewnością znów zostaniemy w Nyaleti Lodge! Oh, i będziesz kochać spotkanie Bouti (sp) - Andrea's little jack Russell terrier/dachshund!"
