Range of choices, all freshly cooked to order. Having spent just one night here I would happily book again and come stay for longer. Avoid Wednesday in Feb as most restaurants closed."

"Had a great stay at this hotel. Typical English seaside hotel. Not modern but felt very cosy and homely. Lynne on reception was very friendly and welcoming. We had to be up early before breakfast the next morning so didn't think we would get one which is understandable but Lynne went above and beyond and prepared us a cooked breakfast with apple juice and tea earlier than the breakfast times which we were extremely grateful for. I am coeliac and Lynne was able to provide pretty much all of the items gluten free! Sausages, hash browns, toast all GF along with the usual eggs, bacon, beans. The breakfast was ace the best breakfast I've had in a long time! Very tasty and well cooked. Breakfast also included in the price. Had a comfy stay in the room and bathroom is nice. Spacious and clean. Free parking also. Would definitely stay again."

"Just returned from a lovely break in Ilfracombe and our stay at the lovely Darnley hotel, Many thanks to the lovely hosts Paul & Lorinda who were so accommodating especially after I messed up our booking , we were literally on our way when I noticed that I'd booked wrong weekend, I obviously called in a panic but were very lucky that Lorinda changed our booking with no bother. Book breakfast with your booking as it's cheaper and well worth the money anyway, very fresh and delicious, a good start to the day. A short walk to the main street and a little longer but nice walk (provided you have no walking difficulties) to the harbour. I have had a recent hip replacement and managed to walk it with a lot of stops in between and got a taxi back. Its a beautiful walk if you can manage it. Have a fab time 😃"

"Having just visited avoid at all cost We popped in for a drink and cream tea, no prices a very rude man appeared took our order and demanded we paid up front cash only. The scones were warm but that is the only positive, they tasted artificial and we're very small. The coffee was cheap instant coffee put into a coffee pot, undrinkable. £15.00 for something that was inedible. Someone asked for a cold drink and was offered ,,,lemonade with a quip about liking "to keep things simple" All this served by a very pushy man and chains across the door."
