" Supposed to be a smoke free building yet Noticeable smell of ********* on the floor. Advised front desk of the smell.  They seemed disinterested.    One gets the impression that the hotel is used as a homeless shelter.  The food offerings for breakfast was average and unimpressive. "

"The hotel is relatively old, with the railway behind it, and trains to and from Manhattan are relatively frequent, but fortunately the soundproofing is pretty good and there is not much noise. The valet parking guy was very nice and handsome."

Best Western Roslyn-Long Island Hotel

"Although I found a fly near the shower door, overall it was pretty good. The bed was quite comfortable, and the blankets were nice too. The gym had a few basic machines. The only downsides were that the room was a bit small, and the biggest problem was the poor soundproofing; the room was right next to the road and it was very noisy."

Fathoms Hotel & Marina

"Fathoms is a lovely, comfortable and welcoming place to stay -- much preferable to larger hotels with their impersonal approach to guests. The owners clearly care about the needs and preferences of their guests. They have done a great deal to make their hotel more sustainable which is, sadly, not common in this business. I would recommend Fathoms to anyone looking for a place to stay in western Long Island!"
