I want them to know i appreciate them. Please extend my gratitude to them. Also the Asian looking lady who worked during breakfast this morning, was excellent. Please let her know as well. Finally, the staff at the entrance - getting cabs etc. - are great. Some of the male staff are too - in Dutch, popy yoopy. I am your guest and not your friend. That's all, and that's enough. We stayed at Novotel Amsterdam City in standard twin rooms for a family holiday (6 of us), and overall it was a great experience. Mr. Oman at the reception was super friendly and gave us a warm welcome during check-in. He also helped make sure all our requests were met; connecting rooms, 2 single beds, same floor, and next to each other. Really appreciated that! The only downside was one male receptionist (Middle Eastern-looking) who didn’t seem very welcoming. He was quite passive and seemed unwilling when I asked for help with temporarily storing our luggage.

Wiedziałem, że pokój będzie mały, ale nie aż tak. Nie był po prostu mały, główna ściana była pochylona, ​​przez co przestrzeń użytkowa była bardzo wąska. Od razu po wejściu zrobiłem zdjęcie toalety, ponieważ miała w środku żółtą plamę. The location is not the most central and to get to old town, on needs to walk and catch ferry or metro. The breakfast buffet was good value and plenty of choices for most people. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

A very clean hotel, staff are very nice and friendly. Location is another highlight, located right next to Overamstel station, very convenient if you want to go some other cities or Amsterdam Central as you can always go to Amstel station

Nie zdawałam sobie sprawy, że ten hotel jest tak daleko od centrum Amsterdamu. To jeden przystanek pociągiem od Amsterdam Centraal plus 10 minut spacerem. Wnętrze jest bardzo hostelowe, jaskrawo kolorowe ściany ze stołem do piłkarzyków i ping-ponga itp. Personel był miły i przyjazny, ale pokoje były po prostu trochę zmęczone. Mieliśmy prywatny pokój dla dwóch osób, który faktycznie miał aneks kuchenny, lodówkę i kuchenkę mikrofalową (nie potrzebowaliśmy), ale świetne, jeśli potrzebujesz. Po prostu jest zmęczony - potrzebuje lepszych gniazdek, oświetlenia, a poduszki były nierówne. Materac był dla mnie za twardy i nie spałam dobrze. Świetny, jeśli podróżujesz z plecakiem, nie jest tak dobry na kilka nocy w Amsterdamie jako matka z synem. Musiał być bliżej, aby mieć czas na powrót i odpoczynek bez godziny podróży powrotnej i niewygodnych łóżek.

The location is great, right in downtown and very convenient walking around in the center of Amsterdam. Room was especially small, not a big hotel, think they gave me their smallest room with a view of the internal air-well in the basement. The room was not even big enough to open up my luggage completely so I had to unpack out a few clothing as I was staying there for a few nights and luckily able to store my closed luggage beneath the bed. Toilet was small but looked as if it was recently upgraded in the last few years, it looked fairly new although there were some drain flies flying around in the toilet and could have been cleaned or exterminated better. Bed was surprisingly a double for such a small room and was comfortable enough. I had an issue with the receptionist opening my room door without knocking at all while I was stark naked and about to head into the toilet for a shower. Did not think that it was professional no matter the reason for doing so - apparently she was confused and open up the wrong door. Knocking on door and waiting for an answer should be a universal practice by all hospitality staff across any hospitality properties. Room was expensive for the size but it was centrally located and comfortable enough.

We had been really concerned after pre paying this hotel then reading bad reviews that had us convinced we would need to wear plastic suits the entire visit,, so I thought I'd give my review based around the concerns we had read, to try and be helpful ! some of the things were true , the sheets did come off the bed on mine but I wiggle but my friends both stayed on their beds. super annoying but I just slid it back on and you can always throw your cover over it instead and ask for another . Fortunately we didn't come across the bed bugs people mentioned !, the cat seemed happy and not flea ridden.. however the room was clean enough , no obvious mould. The beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom was clean and quite nice It wasn't huge but had ample.space for our things in the triple person room . It's an old building with narrow windy stairs I'm glad the elevator worked. it's not a relax and sit in all day hotel..it's a place to sleep , shower ...charge your phone and keep your belongings. The coffee machine was fine as far as basic goes. The staff were fine There was a fifty euro deposit on the desk, we just asked for a receipt after other things mentioned in reviews and were given a written one with no problem on leaving . We were offered one free housekeeping day as we stayed 4 nights but opted not to use it due to theft mentioned in reviews.. We stayed at the main hotel so I don't know if all the bad reviews were from the other or we just got lucky with our room but we had no problems, and when I went rustling down before hours looking for coffee the guy did help me before reception opened. It's no paradise of a place , there are marks on the walls but faint...if you're fussy it's not the place for you but for the price and location, we really didn't mind it . It's a super great location as a base with a trendy area behind it And a really cool vegan restaurant a tiny walk away a pub downstairs and metro train a stone's throw away If you have the option to pay on arrival ask to see.your room first.you could take that route Just to be safe, but all up it was fine..3 women travelling together there was no unsafe feeling there . We didn't find it noisy.
