The first time I went to Amsterdam with my bestie, we arrived at the hotel at 8pm. It was by a very quiet river. I thought it was a remote location, but I didn't expect that the hotel was surrounded by attractions after walking around the next day: Anne Frank House and Tulip Museum, Church and Canal Yacht Center and Small Square. The front desk receptionist, the blonde sister, was warm and friendly. She introduced the room and catering and the condition of the elevator to be repaired. She also recommended local restaurants nearby and helped to make reservations. The Chinese boss did a good job in employee training. The surprise was that the small suite on the fourth floor not only faced the beautiful canal, but also had a hot water kettle that girls always wanted. I like the hotel's logo. The Western breakfast has a rich selection of hot and cold drinks. The restaurant environment is small and warm, and the illustrations on the background wall have a sense of déjà vu of campus blackboard newspapers. Because it was my birthday that day, my bestie took a group photo with the Polaroid provided by the hotel as a souvenir. The hotel staff, a beautiful long-legged sister, took the initiative to help, which was very nice. Check out on time at 11 am, and the luggage can be stored at the front desk. After taking a cruise 🚤 and visiting the city, we returned to the hotel, rested in the restaurant, ate freshly baked cakes, and drank hot ☕️. The front desk helped me call a taxi to the airport and gave me a bag of snacks before leaving. It was really thoughtful! Looking forward to coming back next time 😘

The location is not the most central and to get to old town, on needs to walk and catch ferry or metro. The breakfast buffet was good value and plenty of choices for most people. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Pomysł hotelu kościelnego jest ciekawy, a obsługa naprawdę miła. 🥰🥰 Jednak moim zdaniem to miejsce nie zasługuje na 155 dolarów. Rezerwując pokój, byłem w drodze i szybko to zrobiłem. Wiedziałem, że pokój będzie mały, ale nie aż tak. Nie był po prostu mały, główna ściana była pochylona, ​​przez co przestrzeń użytkowa była bardzo wąska. Od razu po wejściu zrobiłem zdjęcie toalety, ponieważ miała w środku żółtą plamę. Łóżka były wygodne, ale brakowało szafy, wieszaków było za mało, a łazienka była bardzo mała z malutką umywalką, uniemożliwiającą postawienie szczoteczki do zębów czy kosmetyczki. Lokalizacja nie jest zła, ale trzeba iść co najmniej 20 minut (i 4 minuty promem), żeby dotrzeć do Dworca Centralnego. Jeśli jedziesz pociągiem, to około 11 minut spacerem plus 2 minuty pociągiem. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, moim zdaniem zapłacona cena zdecydowanie nie odpowiada oferowanej jakości.

I arrived at like midnight but luckily there’s someone at the reception 24/7. The hotel is at an excellent location, it was ok to push my suitcase over from Amsterdam central station, I think it took 10minutes yet I was shocked to see the very steep staircase because I had a 26” 22kgs big suitcase with me, along with a 7 kgs hand card travel bag, 6kgs backpack. There’s absolute no way I’d be able to carry all that up stairs without tumbling down and getting injured before I could reach the reception desk. Thankfully, the male staff who work at the front desk were all nice and willing to help, ie 1st time for bringing all my baggage from the bottom of the steps at the entrance up to my room during which we encountered even more steep stairs to reach the room; 2nd time was when I had to check out, I left my suitcase outside the room and needed staff to help me bring it down to the reception storage; 3rd time was from reception down to the bottom at the entrance, otherwise I would not have able to stay at the hotel with all my bulky and heavy baggages. It’s an old hotel so soundproofing maybe a bit of a problem, like I could hear floor boards creaking but it’s bearable and I had a good sleep. I had bit of a hard time finding my room, it felt like a maze in a boat or an anthill, but staff showed me the way to my room. The view outside the window was wonderful, Van Gogh museum and rijksmuseum were within walking distances like under 40 minutes. It’d be even if they provided a water kettle, but I was happy that they actually have tv and air con! I’d stay here again, just that I better not bring a big suitcase next time. Thank you to the 3 staff I encountered on October 10th and 11th!

The location is super good as it is right next to the main train station and can access the trains and tubes smoothly. However, I saw a big silverfish when I just came in the room, so be careful for the cleaning.

Personel bardzo przyjazny! ! ! Ale łóżko składało się z trzech piętrowych, a ja wziąłem górne, jest BARDZO wysoko, mówię ci, jakby to nie było normalne, wysokie, a w pokoju masz prysznic i toaletę, co nie sądzę, żeby to było dobre pomysł. Lokalizacje były w porządku, ale jeśli chcesz jechać do centrum, zdecydowanie musisz skorzystać z jakiegoś środka transportu (rower, autobus lub taksówka). Nie da się tam dojść pieszo, szczególnie jeśli masz ze sobą bagaż. Moje doświadczenia z Amsterdamem były w porządku, ale nic nie zrobiło na mnie większego wrażenia. Nie sądzę, że stosunek ceny do zwiedzania tego miasta jest bardzo niski. Ogólnie nie wrócę już do tego hostelu FIY, hostel NIE MA kuchenki mikrofalowej, więc nawet nie próbuj kupować taniego jedzenia z kuchenki mikrofalowej, jeśli tu mieszkasz.

Mind you the window-less rooms do not have air con so you’re gonna have to bake in the heat and no lift to the basement… but nonetheless, location is good

Nie zdawałam sobie sprawy, że ten hotel jest tak daleko od centrum Amsterdamu. To jeden przystanek pociągiem od Amsterdam Centraal plus 10 minut spacerem. Za każdym razem, gdy podróżujesz tam i z powrotem, zajmuje to dobre 30 minut - myślę, że jest to równie szybkie (i przyjemniejsze) na rowerze, ale nie było to dla nas możliwe. Wnętrze jest bardzo hostelowe, jaskrawo kolorowe ściany ze stołem do piłkarzyków i ping-ponga itp. Personel był miły i przyjazny, ale pokoje były po prostu trochę zmęczone. Mieliśmy prywatny pokój dla dwóch osób, który faktycznie miał aneks kuchenny, lodówkę i kuchenkę mikrofalową (nie potrzebowaliśmy), ale świetne, jeśli potrzebujesz. Po prostu jest zmęczony - potrzebuje lepszych gniazdek, oświetlenia, a poduszki były nierówne. Materac był dla mnie za twardy i nie spałam dobrze. Świetny, jeśli podróżujesz z plecakiem, nie jest tak dobry na kilka nocy w Amsterdamie jako matka z synem. Musiał być bliżej, aby mieć czas na powrót i odpoczynek bez godziny podróży powrotnej i niewygodnych łóżek.

We stayed at this hotel with our child. Overall the stay was fine and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept well. The area is great – quiet, safe and close to shops and cafés. However, the room was a bit cold and our child got chilly at night. There were no carpets on the floor, so our socks were always getting dirty and the floor felt dusty. The breakfast was also quite weak, with a rather limited selection. In general it was an okay stay, but with a warmer room, better floor cleanliness and a stronger breakfast, the experience could be much better.

The Hotel Library has an unbeatable location and room size! Spacious big bed, enough walking space in the room and nice bath/toilet size too. Location wise it is on the very main road - walking distance of 8-9 minutes from Centraal Station and opposite to the floating Chinese restaurant. The views of the road from our room were really amazing too. Its heater quickly heats up the room. TV is okay size and has few English channels - who doesn’t like to watch a TV in the hotel room before going to bed! Their room service is good - they make the bed and give fresh towels. There are few things that kind of take away one or two stars: - the elevator, though we are happy that they have one, but the one installed is very slow and you have to keep the buttons pressed and if you take the fingers off it stops midway - we asked for top floor since the views are always nicer from a height and they gave us the 3rd floor (top most) however, the hotel must clarify that after 2nd floor there is no elevator to the 3rd floor and to top it up, the stairs to the 3rd floor are so steep they reminded me of exercise called spiderman mountain climbers! - their room service team however do not clean the area around the kettle. We had sugar dropped and used cups kept and they wouldn’t clean on daily basis saying the cups are to be cleaned by the guests - this was shocking! I expect this to be part of cleaning duty irrespective whether i stay one night or four! - TV channels - out of the few that they have most of them wouldn’t air any content and just names of the channel which is quite irritating when you are given only two-thee channels to flip through. Overall i rate it a 3.5 / 5 for the staff at the reception were really polite - all of them! Happy to recommend this!
