2-Star hotele w: Gunma Prefecture, Japan

This was my first and only stay at a ryokan so I don’t have much to compare it to. I chose this lodging because of the cats and good reviews on the food. The cats were really sweet and I enjoyed playing with them. I have 2 cats of my own so it was really nice. The food was so beautiful and delicious - the mushroom soup at dinner was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The private bath rooms were very convenient and open 24 hrs. I thought the facilities were clean and very pleasant. The location was very close to the central area and a quick walk to all the important sites including the bus station. The only comment I have was in the morning someone was smoking and the smell got ****** into the 2nd floor hallway so maybe more care should be taken to be sure the smoke stays outside. The host was so nice and sweet and I used google translate to ask questions. The matcha madeleines are so tasty I bought a box to take with me.

This was my first time going to Kusatsu Onsen. I had originally booked a different inn, but I changed to this one at the last minute because the reviews on other websites were very good, and breakfast was included and it was a little cheaper. After staying here, I definitely want to stay here again next time! The following is a long story, but I hope it was helpful. - About a 7-minute walk from the Yubatake. The inn is uphill from the Yubatake, but for someone in their early 30s, it wasn't too hard. Older people might get a little out of breath. - The inn only has stairs. The rooms only have a toilet, no bathroom. There are two private baths, and if they are available, you can bathe until 9am. Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothbrush, razor, hair band, samue, tabi socks, bath towel, face towel (no face wash or makeup remover) If you are planning to go to a day trip to the hot springs, it is recommended to bring a face towel from the inn (be careful not to forget to take it home!) The breakfast was so delicious and plentiful that it didn't seem like a light breakfast. It was filling. The building is like an old house, but it was meticulously cleaned I was impressed. There are few rooms and it is small, so I think it is recommended for those who want to stay with a small number of people. There are few reviews on this site, but there are many on a certain map, so I decided to stay there. Above all, the staff were very considerate, and I was very happy to be able to spend a quiet time even though it was close to the Yubatake.

Wow this place is INCREDIBLE I have no idea how it doesn't have SO many more reviews. This ryokan has literally the sweetest people, absolutely beautiful onsens, and YUMMY food. The room itself is very spacious and has it's own private view into a garden, and it has it's own A/C unit you can use - it's also very clean and included a full set of teas and snacks. The shared outdoor and indoor onsens are absolutely gorgeous, and overlook mountains in the distance. I went to 10+ onsens in Japan and this was the best hands down - beautiful with those mountain views, and extremely clean. The food was also so delicious, and I felt stuffed after every breakfast and dinner. I super highly recommend this place!

His home is a 1-minute walk from the bus station, and it will not be very tired to go up and down, let alone ask the hotel to drive to pick it up. According to these circumstances, it is okay to give 4 points, but I don't recommend everyone to live, because this house has hidden charges, and in winter it will charge 500 warm house fee and 150 hot spring water tax. There is no mention on the booking page. If the hot spring tax is not unfamiliar to people who frequent Japan, what is called the warm house fee is very strange. Communicate with the store. They showed me their official website, which means that there is a statement. I said that I didn't set it on the official website. I have no way of knowing it. I prefer to believe that the owner ’s idea is pure and not intentional, but doing business is very frustrating. No wonder it takes up such a good position and does not renovate. Similar hotels that have been renovated next door can sell twice as much. Of course, the result of the matter itself is still good. This hidden charge problem was later subsidized to me by Ctrip. I praised Ctrip customer service and dealt with it in a particularly efficient and professional manner. The reasons for not recommending are: 1. Difficulty in communication. I went to the next few places and visited. Although the English is not fluent, it is obviously much better. There are local characteristics (I changed to the hotel the next day); 3. In addition to the so-called warm house fee, his family's original price advantage of only three or fifty rmb will no longer exist, and you can choose the same price slightly more expensive, Choose the few hotels, the single room price is also in this grade, but the conditions are much better, anyway, this one also experiences impenetrable Japanese feeling, if you really want to experience Japanese feeling, you can choose a hotel above 1500rmb.

A very unique ryokan experience at Kusatsu. I've never seen wooden floors that shiny. The room is LARGE. Plenty of space that is also partitioned, and can sleep up to 6. There's a toilet in the room, but no shower. They've got a top notch onsen bath downstairs. The hotel staff were kind and used a translator to communicate with us. Location wise, it is very good. It's near enough to the Yubatake. Like 1 min walk away. But it's away from the noise and crowd and sulphur fumes. The perfect choice for guests who like to go back to the hotel for a short rest and come back out again

Wow! What a wonderful place, and wonderful people! I loved the view of the green rice fields out of my window, with a beautiful mountainous background. My room was great, clean and organized, had everything I needed. Location wise it takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the train station or to a nearby seven eleven. The train schedule is quite sparse, so time it correctly. (Or rent a car, would be the easiest) The hosts were extremely nice! Helped me in any way they could’ve for example in my checkout day, it was raining heavily so they gave me a ride to the station.

A little old but solid building with facilities. Originally for national public servants? I stayed as a visitor at the facility. It may be unavoidable because it is a visitor, but the meal was a room meal. The food was very delicious. We recommend a small family bath next to the large communal bath. Maybe it's a free-flowing bath.

I didn't realize it because I went by car, but Shibukawa Station is right nearby! There's also a convenience store nearby and a ramen place right next to the hotel that's open late! First of all, the hotel staff were so kind! One thing that was really disappointing... ㅠ It's not very clean.. The remote control fell under the bed, so I turned on the flashlight on my phone and checked, and it was so dusty that it looked like the vacuum cleaner hadn't been used in years, so I spent 2 nights without the remote control... ㅋㅋㅋ The blanket was also really old.. Other than that, everything was great!
