This will be the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel and I will say that it's getting old. The resort has five pools that were all hot. The surrounding beach in the area is 20 ft deep and seaweed and you can't enter the water. Also if you can imagine the hotel makes you check out at 10:00 a.m. which screwed up my sleeping pattern for the day of checkout. What hotel makes you check out at 10:00 a.m.? By the way check in time isn't until 4:00. So if you're staying for one day you only get 18 hours of hotel. Some of the rooms are redone and some of the rooms have got the original flooring from when I stay there the first time around 25 years ago. My room had the original flooring. The first room that reception gave me was on the first floor at the absolute end of the resort. The room was run down and the floor looked like it was buckling a little . The second room reception gave me had a foul odor. Food and drinks at this hotel are extremely expensive. I want to say that a margarita is around 13 to 17 US dollars give me a break. Do not order an a la carte breakfast there because they pick it off the buffet and it's going to be cold. I want to say breakfast is 550 pesos a person. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. They don't offer cappuccino or lattes as a courtesy for breakfast. By the way it takes reception around 15 minutes per customer to check you in. I have stayed at this resort a total of four times and I would not go back. The beach is infested with seaweed farther than the eye can see there's no place swimmable by this resort. I would say it was quite disappointing. By the way they have a little market in the resort and a $6 bottle of champagne in Los Angeles cost $53 in their ghastly overpriced market. Very bad value for money. My third room was acceptable. I do have to say I think the rooms are big and the gentleman that checked me on did give me an upgrade to a balcony on the lagoon side so that was something. I paid a round $140 USD a night with tax and really it was a 85 US dollar hotel at best. It doesn't meet Westin standards. There was also an area with a little chip paint in my room but I'm probably being somewhat nitpicky. The light in the room is also not very bright and made it somewhat hard to read.
The location is great. The parking lot is just opposite the hotel. The room is a 2-minute walk from the beach. The beach is wide and there are few tourists. I saw the most beautiful sunrise. The large balcony is surrounded by green plants and is very suitable for sunbathing. It is quieter than other hotels at night. The double shower can take a shower at the same time. The hotel thoughtfully prepared three large bottles of drinking purified water and a woven bag for going out... I like Tulum starting from the hotel.
Great hotel just off the main street and a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Nice rooms, very friendly staff andca great rooftop pool. I can only recommend!
Initially our room was not very nice- damp bed, broken toilet handle, intermittent hot water and generally tired.
However the management did address the issues by moving us to another room. The maids did a lovely job at creating new animals out of the blankets and added flowers on arrival.
Unfortunately the first evening meal was a disaster. One main meal was overcooked and served before starter (which was incorrect) and the 2nd main meal was served incorrectly twice. Finally, the front desk resolved some of the issues but no ‘compensation/ token, for the errors was offered.
The following days were better, the breakfast was good and the staff made an effort to make our stay better.
Although the hotel needs some renovations it was a chill and pleasant stay. Small beach but sunsets were beautiful.
This hotel is perfectly located on a block away from the main strip. You can hear the music carry over from nearby bars but that didn’t bother me, it’s expected in a location like this. Upon checking in they give you a tv remote and tell you not to move the thermostat. The AC was fixed to run all night and did not have an automatic feature, so it made for extremely cold nights.
The reason I lowered the rating is the customer service. You are given only two towels and there was no hand towels at all. I tried calling the front desk but nobody answered the 6 times I called. I had to go down and grab one myself where I was asked to sign one out. No big deal. However, the following day housekeeping took this towel and never replaced it. I hope I don’t get charged for a small hand towel
Cute little hotel with comfi rooms and nicely furnished. Even though the hotel is on a major main road, the rooms are in the backyard so you hardly notice anything of the hustle and bustle outside. The only thing we regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

SSongxiangruiruiMy favorite hotel!
I also held my wedding here
The hotel is beautiful, and there are two museums that are also beautiful in the same style.
If you also like the original ecology, don’t hesitate to order directly
The scenery is incomparably beautiful, be sure to choose a sea view room
This is a hotel you must visit in your life!
GGuest UserWe absolutely loved this hotel. It is now our go to Cancun hotel every time we visit. From the moment we arrived we were given the warmest welcome. The location was perfect for us, just two minutes from the water. The beds are unbelievably comfortable and we loved having fresh water, towels and daily cleaning, plus fresh beach towels every day. It is so worth the money. Alejandro who welcomed us in the lobby was an absolute sweetheart, as were all of the staff. Truly a wonderful stay.
MM495523****This might just be the best hotel I've ever stayed at! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and they're cleaned daily, so it's always spotless. It's an all-inclusive resort, meaning all food and drinks are covered – and they're all high-quality too. I highly recommend the beachfront restaurant; just remember to make a reservation for the evening. The atmosphere is incredible, and watching the sunset with the sea breeze is pure bliss. The hotel has its own private beach with soft, fine sand, right outside your door. There's also a swimming pool and hot springs. It's connected to other hotels as well, so you can share some of their restaurants and pool facilities. Plus, there's a free show in the auditorium every night at 8:30 PM. All in all, it's incredible value for money. Highly recommended!

LLihuiI stayed here for 3 nights in June. The sea was full of weeds, probably because of the rainy season, so I couldn't go in, but there weren't too many people and I was able to relax by the pool. It's also close to Quinta Avenida, so you can enjoy a stroll around the town in between your hotel life. There are buffets, 3 dinner restaurants, a cafe and a pool bar, and activities such as morning yoga and shows, so I had a lot to enjoy. I booked an ocean view room, but I could barely see the sea, so if you want to see the sea from your room, it might be better to book a seafront room.
IIndhujaA great experience at Rancho Encantado which is located right on the lagoon! All the people in the property are so kind and understanding, and at this time we needed this flying in from DR! The food at the restaurant is also so good and worth it! The greenery in the property and the calm and quiet is something we always love and appreciate, and the location is only adding on to the charm of the place.
TTorbsThis hotel is an architectural masterpiece and absolutely stunning. They are also one of the few hotels that didn’t destroy the vital mangroves protecting the lagoon (and it’s beautiful color). Needless to say that the lagoon is an absolute stunner.
The service/management, however, is not worthy 5 stars and also not a Michelin key. We were very disappointed. A few things to note before you book this place:
- very inconsistent service: for example, we never received a WhatsApp with all the info/tours, only after asking for it again.
- very poor planing of tours (we booked a sailing trip … the first day it took them 2 hours of “confirmation” to end up telling us it’s not possible. We then booked for the next day and the tour started about 1 hour late, again, us just “waiting” and wasting our precious holiday time. No “sorry” whatsoever from the hotel.
- the tour was supposed to include “sunscreen” (mentioned in PDF flyer). When the guide arrived (a very nice and competent local guide), she told us that sun screen is not available and anyway is heavily damaging the lagoon and should be avoided - feels like something a) the hotel should advocate and b) not sell as part of their tours
- waiters service also very inconsistent. Some friendly, some couldn’t even say “hello”
- food also very inconsistent (and expensive). Pasta à la mantequilla was a nightmare, while the hamburger was delicious.
- on the day of NYE we proactively asked about a table in the restaurant only for the staff to tell us that we can only have dinner there if we buy the NYE menu for 4500 MXN per person ( that’s around 215 EUR pP ). The hotel is very remote (which is why we booked it of course), so the next restaurant is 20 minutes away. They never proactively mentioned this (all they did was inform that there will be a NYe dinner)
Overall, too many little things that went wrong to make this stay enjoyable.
여여행♡인생♡It is a nature-friendly place. While riding a bike around the hotel, I was able to meet various animals such as coatis, lizards, and iguanas. The beach right in front is beautiful, and there are many restaurants that serve delicious food, so I was happy while staying at the hotel.
GGuest UserWe have stayed at IZLA hotel since it 1st opened so we have seen the changes of time. The Property is in like new condistion still, Staff is great. However what has changed is the nickle and dime charges and the excessove cost of thier food. It was $30 per persn for Breakfast option, yet yoy ucould order ala carte breakfast for 1/2 that. They give you 1 small 16oz bottle of water per day and they only sell Evian in the gift store for a outrageous cost, They now charge extra of you want a bali bed which sat empty the wntire time we were there. As for the propertym the room it was all stellar as always to us.
GGuest UserWe went to Cancun to end our honeymoon. We were greeted with a massive smile from all the hotel staff. Merary kindly checked us in. She saw we were on our honeymoon and very kindly upgraded us to an incredible room with the swim up pool. The room was stunning. We could chill in the pool whilst facing the beach. Not only did we get an upgrade we arrived at our room which had been decorated with balloons on the bed and the word love written with ribbon. We were also given a little cake too. The staff for our whole stay could not do enough for us. The food and drink options available were amazing! So much choice for both. The bar at night could have maybe done with another member of staff serving as we were waiting a long time for drinks but was worth it. The location of the hotel is perfect for the beach but also being so close to many other restaurants and bars in La Isla. Would 100% recommend this hotel.
