„We had an amazing stay at Funny Lion Puerto Princesa!
From check-in until we left, the service was excellent and the staff were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. They made us feel welcome the entire time.
We also appreciated the little extras — the complimentary minibar items and snacks were such a nice touch and made the stay feel even more special.
Overall, we had a really comfortable and enjoyable experience here, and would definitely stay again on our next trip to Puerto Princesa.

„Чудесное место для остановки. У нас было уютное, просторное бунгало с небольшой терассой. Не хватало только холодильника, но это никак не повлияло на общее впечатление. Мы приехали около 2х часов ночи, нас дождались и заселили, несмотря на то, что заселение до 22.30. Ухоженная, территория, потрясающий сад растений. В отеле есть спа, неплохой массаж.
Удобное месторасположение - чуть в стороне от суеты, есть свой пляж. Рядом отели без пляжа с мощёной набережной.
Дайвинг брали в другом месте, так как в отеле все было забронировано.
У нас был но ер без завтраков. Его можно взять и оплатить на месте. Мы завтракали в разных местах, все в пешей 5-ти минутной доступности.
В поисках ужина обошли несколько мест, в итоге оказалось, что в этом отеле самая вкусная еда. Повару отдельное спасибо!”

First morning, still half asleep, stepped out onto the balcony and the bay was just right there. Neither of us wanted to leave.
The staff remember things. Not in a trained way. They actually remember what you said yesterday and bring it up today. That’s different.
For breakfast, sharing one portion between two people is more than enough. You can add a smoothie or a coffee alongside it. After days of heavy food, an easy plant-based breakfast is exactly what you want in the morning. It felt like a reset.
The room is clean and comfortable. We spent time in the hanging chair, we didn’t want to get out of bed, the TV is big and the picture quality is good. We genuinely had to push ourselves to go outside.
Piece of Sky at night: good cocktails, the bay lit up below, live saxophone. I don’t know where else in El Nido you get all of that at once.
That’s the stay. Worth it.””

The restaurant service is good, but the food was underwhelming—breakfasts were quite basic. Only a few dishes on the menu were tasty; the rest need improvement. They should really revamp their offerings.
The rooms are spotless, and housekeeping does an excellent job. The pool looks beautiful and well-maintained, but there’s an issue with unpleasant odors from the port, which sometimes makes swimming less appealing. The gym is poorly equipped—it could use more machines or at least an Olympic bar.”

Breakfast is good. Staff are really friendly and helpful - they arranged Tuktuk for us daily because we were diving at Sabang Area. If you’re here to dive around Sabang Area, then it’s quite a distance. They have their own dive shop too if you prefer that.”

Food is best I had in years if I compare another hotels .
And bug bonus is that the kit hen also make food on demand . So if not on menu they do on request and it is worth to pay some extra money.
Only downside is that trip.xom do not mention that beside the 30 peso terminal fee . And then on tge another side you need to pay 120 peso tourist tax . And as last 300 peso each person to go to the hotel.
But for sure I will go back there”

Let me start with the bad parts. The facilities are too old. The bamboo room is not soundproof. The sea view is not vast and there are mountains around. There are many mosquitoes. The swimming pool is very small. There are many colorful lights installed in a very ”medieval” style. The attitude of the waiters is also a little inferior.
The good places are affordable! The food is not bad. The semi-buffet breakfast is delicious (the picture shows breakfast). There are many choices of international styles for dinner! At night, you can see flocks of birds returning to their nests at the sunset at the pier bar, which is very romantic!

AAnna Maria Olsson* Upon arrival, the air conditioning unit in our villa was not properly maintained. The filter was extremely dirty and clogged, causing excessive noise and poor performance. We had to clean it ourselves in order to use it.
* There is little to no mobile signal in the area, and the WiFi connection has been unreliable due to ongoing maintenance, making it very difficult to stay connected.
* There has been significant noise disturbance from construction work directly behind our villa, including the use of loud power tools throughout most of the day over several days.
* We were only informed about a wedding taking place upon check-in. As a result, we were unable to use the sunbeds located outside our villa and had to relocate further away. Also due to the wedding taking place, the hotel had to make many soundchecks during the day before, playing very loud music which made it hard to relax on the beach. The wedding guests (80+ people) were allowed to use the villa next to us, as their designated toilet, which caused a lot of back and forth from the weddings guests right by our villa. This made it difficult to relax.
* Additionally, we find that the restaurant prices are quite high compared to the quality of the food. For example, breakfast at 800 PHP did not meet basic expectations, as even simple items such as cheese and ham for bread were missing. I’m also sorry to say that the chicken adobo is tasteless, and on the menu it says the menu has been created by a Michelin chef. My mango daquiri tasted only of alcohol, so I had to ask for one with less alcohol. As a certified bartender, that is unacceptable. Even the French fries were not done properly as they needed more time in the oven (I think that’s what they used to make them at least, I would prefer if they were fried in oil though).
However, very good mango shakes.
* We would also like to mention that the access roads leading to the property are in very poor condition. The roads consist mainly of uneven gravel and are full of deep potholes, which make driving quite difficult and uncomfortable. In some areas, it is only possible to drive at around 10 km/h due to the condition of the road.
We believe that the roads would greatly benefit from proper maintenance or being paved with cement, as this would significantly improve accessibility and the overall guest experience.
We understand that some of these issues may be temporary or unforeseen, but taken together they have had a significant impact on our stay.
However I would really like to highlight Hazel from the reception at the Nacpan Beach Villas. She was really sweet and thorough when we had any questions and went the extra mile for us. She deserves a raise. Please let her know we were really happy with her and really appreciated her.

MMichael BrightThis hotel and its staff deserve a 10+ rating for excellence, staff very attentive customer care driven and friendly. Elmer and Cris stood out as exceptional. The hotel and grounds were clean beautiful and had extra amenities that made our stay relaxed and comfortable. The location is a 2 minute walk to Lio beach and all the restaurants along the beach. Elmer the van driver drove us to the beach area and recommended a good restaurant. The hotel will also transfer you to the airport which is very close. I would recommend Peace Loo over any other hotel in El Nido and will definitely return on future travels. The best of the best!

Pros:
- The lady who was in charge (We think she's the manager) is really nice and helpful.
- Distance: THIS WAS THE ULTIMATE DEAL. Hotel is near the beach and most of the local restaurants so we didn't experience any problem. (I recommend the cafe and 'Terminal' near the beach 😊)
- AC and the room was perfect. It was really hot outside and the temp plus the room felt really homey and comfy
- The hotel was really pretty or what we call aesthetic. My baby really liked the designs
- Free breakfast and coffee was a good deal, but don't expect too much.
- How much we got the reservation for 3d2n. Great offer from this app :)
- Staff are nice especially the ones in the restaurant. Wasn't able to ask her name but she was a waiter there and also served our food (afternoon) and the guy who was at the front desk when we checked out
Cons:
- Service fee. I do understand that this is necessary to support the staff, but if you are on a tight budget it might be better to eat outside (sorry...)
- Food was too expensive for the quality and the quantity... I recommend the chicken inasal since it had a big portion.
- Room service and cleanliness - Manager said we could ask for a room service and we could just call them of we need one. We called them on our second day and we waited until our stay ended but no onr came to clean 😅 The girl who answered the phone was kinda masungit or maybe it was the tone of her voice. She told me that they are quiet busy at the moment and told me to just wait - I do understand if they're short staffed or something? But the dirt was kinda bothering us already so we just tried to clean the room on our own
- Cockroaches and ants. So in connection to my previous review... Yes, there are cockroaches in the room especially the bathroom. It doesn't help that they don't clean the rooms daily.
- Breakfast is not a room service. You have to go down to the restaurant and eat it there.
- Room view. Our room was in the corner of the hotel. Our view was okay because we are can view the pool... And our neighbors ac unit lmao. On the plus side since the units were emitting hot air, it was easier for us to dry our towels 😂 It was really different from the picture.
- Pool was kinda dirty
- Overpriced goods. They have a mini store in the hotel but it would be better to pack up snacks or drinks before coming here.
- OUTSIDE FOOD ARE NOT ALLOWED. Better be careful when bringing meals in the hotel.
Even after listing this, we would still love to come back and stay here. I do hope they give us a better room next time 😅

The staff were incredibly kind and respectful, providing excellent service that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food was a highlight—absolutely delicious, with a healthy breakfast offered in the morning. You can even request a floating breakfast, which added a special touch to the experience. While the villa is tucked away down a short gravel road, the peaceful and private setting made it worth the effort.
The villa is kid-friendly, but families should be cautious around the tiled swimming pool area. There’s no TV, so if you’re traveling with children, make sure their devices are charged. Fortunately, the Wi-Fi is strong and reliable. Overall, it was a lovely, relaxing stay with amazing food and warm hospitality. We highly recommend this villa for a cozy and memorable getaway.

GGuest UserNice hotel with good rooms. Unfortunately, the hotel seems to have a very relaxed policy for its guests. In the restaurant, a man can walk in and eat with a sweaty upper body, and the staff won't say anything. If there's a party with young people at the pool, with shouting and a lot of drinking, the staff also don't intervene. It's a real shame for the class such a hotel normally projects.

TThat girl abroadI had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at this resort. From the moment I arrived, everything felt welcoming and effortless. I was greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, check-in was seamless, and my bags were taken straight to my room which made the arrival feel extra special.
The room itself was spacious and very clean. I was pleasantly surprised with welcome chocolates and brownies, which was such a thoughtful touch. The room was fully equipped with everything you’d need: bottled water, a hairdryer, toiletries, a coffee station, and a fridge stocked with drinks and snacks for purchase. It felt comfortable and well-prepared for guests.
One thing that really impressed me was the laundry service. They had my clothes washed and returned within three hours, which was incredibly convenient and efficient.
The pool area is absolutely stunning and very clean. They have three restaurants on site, which gives great variety. I ordered poolside nachos with a carrot and apple drink and it was delicious. Breakfast is a proper buffet, leaning toward a full English-style spread with plenty of options.
That said, I do think the bathroom could use a bit of attention. Water leaked through the shower door when showering, the shower head could benefit from a deep clean, and I noticed a few drain flies. It didn’t ruin my stay, but it’s an area that could definitely be improved.
I also experienced a small issue at checkout. They were unable to provide change when I was settling my bill, which delayed things. There were only two staff members assisting with checkout, and although I was scheduled to leave at 6:00am with a breakfast pack, I only managed to leave at 6:30am and unfortunately without the breakfast.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay. The resort is beautiful, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing. With a little more attention to bathroom maintenance and smoother early-morning checkout coordination, it would be close to perfect. I would still happily return.

GGuest UserThe hotel is nice, the room was big, we did switch room on second day for better view. The hotel was literally at 100% occupancy. The housekeeping was very efficient and so is the repair team. The location is very remote with not much around, so if you want to just relax, swim, and read a book, this is the perfect location. The hotel has a restaurant, a pool bar, a spa, a 24 hours gym, a pickle ball court, a large outdoor pool, and direct access to beach. On the positive side, the staff are so nice, very friendly, attend to your needs very efficiently. Honestly, I am super impressed that my room is always clean on time, there are always clean towels at the pool, this is extremely challenging for a fully booked hotel, which also was hosting a wedding and a conference during Valentine’s Day weekend and Chinese new years at the same time. On the negatives side, the carpet was dirty in both rooms, the AC was leaking and the toilet seat was broken, both were fixed right away. Because it is remote, we ate most of our meals in the hotel. The F&B program was not very well designed, options were limited for both breakfast and dinner buffet; after 3 days it feels a little like eating canteen food. Both my son and husband had salad on first day, while I only ate cooked food, so they were both pretty sick for the rest of the stay. Meanwhile, the operation team at the restaurant was clearly not ready for full occupancy, any order could easily take ＞45 mins and many local dishes were not available for days because lacking of LOCAL ingredients. They even ran out of ice cream at dinner, something that could have been stocked well in advance, unlike fresh vegetables. So any meal could take 1.5 - 2.0 hours. Again, the ataff was wonderful, they were doing everything they can to help. However, the management team really need to plan better for high season.

GGuest UserExcellent service. Very clean. Strong water — love to shower. Staff very accommodating. We got cookies everyday sent to our room. They also made extra efforts to serve us with other food from the kitchen during breakfast like white rice, garlic rice, and danggit. Was looking for beach front which I thought was somehow accessible via a path, but you’d have to go elsewhere for that. The great service more than made up for it though! Thank you!
