Loved this place. We have been here before and will come again. Spending our 1 year wedding anniversary here was a great time.
We had all the amenities we needed, plus some.
The only downside was paying for a deluxe suite and having the amount of noise exposure for what was supposed to be the quietest rooms. Otherwise, fantastic, great service, friendly welcoming staff and good laughs and entertainment, food was well cooked and tasty too. Will be coming back for sure!

My stay at Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa was absolutely amazing. The place is so beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by lush tropical plants that make you feel completely connected to nature. Everywhere I looked, there was greenery, colorful flowers, and the calming sound of the ocean , it was the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and respectful. They always greeted us with warm smiles and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. You can really feel how much they care about their guests.
Every Wednesday night they host a Fiafia Night.
The resort also offers some great tours, including an Apia Town tour, a Savaii island tour, and a South East Coast tour. We went on the South East Coast tour and got to see the To Sua Ocean Trench.
Overall, Sinalei Resort & Spa is the perfect getaway for us looking for beauty, tranquility, and authentic Samoan hospitality. I can’t wait to go back!
The facility was clean and modern, but the shower didn't drain fully leaving a slippery puddle away from the drain hole. Housekeeping wasn't consistent. On separate occasions the mirror was left wet, the bins unemptied, the towel unchanged and the bed not made up properly. The programmable safe didn't open once locked, and the key card had to be reprogrammed to give access to the room.
Once, while resting in my room in the early afternoon, someone tried to enter my room but the latch stopped them. I quickly checked outside, thinking it might have been housekeeping, but no one was there except someone - a burly obese island man in singlet, shorts and jandals - walking quickly around the corner. I believe it was another guest who'd somehow gained access to electronic access cards, and who was raiding other guest's rooms. It was after that incident that my key card failed to work, and I had to visit reception to get it reprogrammed.
The staff were generally courteous and kind, but really only going through the motions to fulfil their role. No one stood out as loving the work they do.
The egg station couldn't make poached egg. That had to come from the kitchen, and they had to boil the water first and it was an inordinately long wait. In a previous visit to Samoa, at a hotel in Savai'i, the egg station had a pan with simmering water for poached eggs, and they delivered poached eggs as quickly as any other style of egg.
I visited other hotels for events around Apia on this visit. I'm now open to staying at other hotels after this visit.

Very Good
GGuest UserAlways a great easy stay at Tanoa.
Rooms are clean, comfortable and all amenities work well.
Great pool and breakfast buffet.
Tanoa is alway a first choice of accommodation when we come to Samoa.
GGuest UserThe hotel and service was good. Staff attentive when approached and can offer assistance when required. I had requested an early check in, however was not aware early check in could only be accommodated from 8am- I landed at 4am. Restaurants onsite are typical however not as grande as other pacific island resorts and restaurants. I ventured to local restaurants (easy to walk to and safe for a solo traveller) and was able to easily walk into town. Just a side note, I found I was unable to book tours via the hotel as I was a solo traveller and they require a minimum of 2 people per booking. I managed to find other ways to book and see Samoa however it wasn’t as easy as walking to the tour desk. Overall though I was happy with my stay!
