Everything was fine except for the food that was served in room service, the pizza was raw and fruit was rotten and when brought to the attention of the personnel they did nothing in regards
Hotel was clean and secure with friendly and helpful staff.
Secure parking in a large city is a bonus.
Great reasonable breakfast was provided by the adjoining cafe.
Great service. Super convenient shuttle. Extremely comfortable and perfect for a stay in Guayaquil. Stayed twice. Ate at El Patio, drank at the bar, and enjoyed the sauna. All excellent.
Hotel Review: Hotel Malecón Inn, Guayaquil, Ecuador
I recently stayed at Hotel Malecón Inn in the heart of Guayaquil, and here’s my honest experience:
Location: ★★★★★
The hotel’s location is its strongest asset. It’s within walking distance to the Malecón 2000, Las Peñas, and many other key tourist attractions. I loved how easy it was to explore the city from here—whether during the day or in the evening.
Staff & Service:
The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the reception team. They answered questions and offered directions, though English was limited with some. Still, they tried their best to assist, which I appreciated.
Cleanliness & Comfort:
The rooms were basic but clean. Bed was decent for a night’s sleep. However, some parts of the hotel feel outdated and could use a refresh. If you’re expecting luxury, this might not be the place, but for a practical and affordable stay, it does the job.
Wi-Fi & Amenities:
Wi-Fi was okay—stronger in common areas than in the rooms. The air conditioning worked, which was crucial in Guayaquil’s heat.
Value for Money:
If you’re on a budget and want a central, safe place to stay in Guayaquil, Hotel Malecón Inn offers good value. Don’t expect five stars—but do expect convenience and functionality.
The general experience was good. In considered the stay a bit expensive for Ecuador (79$ for two days incl breakfast). One of the reasons I chose this hotel is because of free drinking water. However, the water is positioned in a way that you can fill up only small cups. So I still had to buy a lot of water bottles outside, which made my stay more expensive than expected. The pool area is beautiful. Service was nice. Location close to the center, I could explore the main tourist attractions (La perla, Malecon, Cementery) by foot. The breakfast is kind of a surprise, you can choose betweeen American and Local. I prefered the local one, the Banana tasted amazing. In advance of my stay I asked for an early check-in at 8 clock, which apparently was not possible. However, my room was ready at about 10.30. Wifi was excellent. Shower had lots of warm water. No mosquito net at the windows and it was not possible to close the windows in my completely.

CChristian OstnerGreat location next to Parque Seminario, the park with the iguanas. Not far from the modern waterfront promenade. We also felt safe in the evenings due to the strong security presence.
GGuest UserI stayed here for one day before going to Cuenca and it was much better than expected. The most modern hotel I stayed in during my trip to South America. Convenience: The hotel is directly connected to a shopping mall, so you don't have to leave the house for shopping, supermarkets, and meals. There is a dedicated gate to the shopping mall, so the hotel is quiet and undisturbed.
GGuest UserExcellent! From check in, luggage delivery, sushi restaurant, front desk, airport shuttle, friendly and helpful!
The sushi restaurant stayed open to serve lunch to our party of 12 lady scuba divers from Galapagos.
LLarry OiltThe hotel is about 3 minutes by car from the airport and about 5 minutes from the Mall del Sol. The staff at the reception (and also on the phone before my arrival) has been incredibly friendly and helpful: thank you so much! The room was big, full of light, very clean and comfortable. The free shuttle service from and to the airport is a handy and welcome treat. All in all, great hotel.
AAnonymous UserGreat, the hotel service is super good, helping to take a taxi is also very efficient, the key food quality is very high, the price is fair, there is a shopping mall next to it, eating and shopping are very convenient;
GGuest UserThe hotel is very good. Although it opened early, the maintenance and customer service staff are all top-notch. The concierge treatment is also very good. Everyone at the front desk speaks English, so it doesn't matter if you don't speak Spanish! The location is in the city center, very close to the Guaquis River, and within walking distance of Iguana Square and Unirii Square; good reviews
蔡蔡Guayaquil in Ecuador, if not for the special situation of 2020, Chinese people rarely pass. The hotel is located on the Malecon Riverside (across a local main road) by the famous local Guayas River. Before arriving in Gua, I contacted the hotel in advance to arrange a pick-up by email. After leaving the airport, I could find myself holding a sign. The pick-up fee was paid to the front desk of the hotel at $10, and the driver gave a tip of $2. The superior twin room booked is large in size, and the room is also equipped with a small refrigerator and a table, and slippers are not provided. There are wall-mounted air conditioners. The front desk of the hotel can speak English and has a very good attitude. After arriving, I found that the business center was closed due to the epidemic, but the front desk could still help with printing. There is an open space with a roof on the second floor of the hotel, with tables and chairs, and a swimming pool next to it, which coincides with Christmas and a Christmas tree. The hotel provides a free breakfast buffet, which is changed every day. The beef there is very good. There are a lot of people in the breakfast room on weekends, so pay attention to protection. The only minor problem is that our room is close to the road, which is a bit noisy at night, especially because of cultural reasons, the locals like to drive by modified cars with super loud speakers all the way at night, but just get used to it. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the city center, such as the City Hall or Iguana Park. You only need to cross a road along the river. There is also a supermarket called Mini nearby to buy food and daily necessities, but there are many restaurants suitable for Chinese people. Less, usually the solution is to order takeaway in the hotel room, recommend the takeaway software Glovo, English interface, some dishes have pictures. Uber is recommended for calling out. Overall I am very satisfied with this hotel.
