Location is very good, just two minutes walk from JR station. The shuttle bus stop to ski area is just one minute walk. Next to hotel is a big parking lot. Room is clean, but no hook for hanging stuff in the bathroom. No expectation in public bath, better than nothing. Kitakima is a very sleepy town, few selection of restaurants in town, no restaurant near the hotel, but one inside the hotel. Steak is great there. Wrong room type had been allocated to me ( not the problem of the hotel), but finally being compensated by Trip.com.
Decent clean rooms... small with basic amenities. Room interior fittings looks new, but the bathtub was a tad old. Location is fairly near Kitakami JR station, say 10 or 15mins walk. There's a nice river view facing the back, and good for morning stroll. All else, it was a short transit stopover stay for my group. Hadn't use any of their facilities
The hotel is actual one of three hotels linked together, can use onsen from other hotels. Onsen is nice.
Buffet foods are good and have wide range of choices. A pity that the adjacent Rose Garden is close due to winter.
Rooms were great and dinners super tasty. There were also other fun facilities like onsen, karaoke, arcades, ping pong. So it was all good!

Very Good
SStaliciousWe had a pleasant stay in general. However, room ceaning service needs to be improved. Our group of people have a few bad experiences.
1) after returning to room after the day, there was a used mask left in the bathroom. There’s also a day without providing onsen towels and we had to bring over the mid size ones
2) the door of my friend’s room remained open after the cleaning service (a 3M sticker with なすし2 sticked on wall). Glad there’s no missing items
3) another room, there was blood and urine stint left on the toilet cover!
I hope the hotel can take it seriously as it indeed ruins the brand of IHG and bad customer experience.

GGuest UserThe main reason for staying at the Hongyeguan Hotel was its convenient location for cherry blossom viewing in the north. It's only a little over half an hour's drive to the exhibition center. The hotel includes two meals: a buffet breakfast and dinner. After cherry blossom viewing, guests can enjoy various delicacies such as king crab, soak in the hot springs, and there are even ethnic performances in the evening. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom on the day we checked in, and Hongyeguan was surrounded by them – it was beautiful!
GGuest UserNewly renovated hotel with spacious rooms and nice river view. Japanese and western style daily buffet breakfast included. There's also a public bath, coin laundry, fitness room and free parking for hotel guests. Excellent location as it's near the train station. The only thing is they blocked the smart TV features so I couldn't watch YouTube, Netflix etc. Hotel staff are nice and offered to change rooms for our friends. I'd definitely come back to this hotel if I visit Kitakami again!
AAnonymous UserThe most comfortable and best hotel I stayed in during my trip to Northeast Japan. Both the hardware facilities and the service staff were excellent. I especially praised a Chinese brother wearing glasses who was very kind and attentive. He could communicate in both Chinese and English. I hope I can come to Appi Plateau to see the snow again in winter if I have the chance~
GGuest UserThe dinner buffet was spacious, with a wide variety of delicious items. The desserts and ice cream, in particular, seemed ordinary at first glance, but the matcha financier and rose ice cream were unforgettable. As for the hot springs, all three rooms offered bathing options, adding to the fun. However, in my personal experience, the hot springs at the Momiji-kan were more varied, while the new hot spring on the first floor of the Hanamaki Hotel only had one pool, which was quite uninteresting. I also suggest providing more small towels, as people might be soaking in various places.

JJiantingLike:
The big bath is very comfortable, and I took the child to soak twice.
2. Convenient parking, suitable for self-driving.
3. The service staff is kind and polite.
Not like:
1. If you don't smoke, remember to book a non-smoking room. I didn't notice when I booked (I was too a soldier). I booked a smoking room. The smell of smoke in the room was very heavy. It was my most regrettable place.
Satisfaction is 90 points.
