Superb fuji view from the hotel itself with it’s good location. Staff are polite and nice, even with limited english we are able to communicate smoothly. They serve us well during the reception and dinner time. All the travel kits or toiletries are available with good quality, even the public onsen is available and well maintain. Good experience overall staying here.

Arrived on a heavy snow and my shoe were all wet. Were told that our room were not ready but the lady quickly offered me a Shoe Dryer to dry my shoe. The room were quite spacious. It has beautiful view of Mt Fuji. The onsen have the same beautiful view of Mt Fuji. 20 mins walk to the Kawaguchi station. But within 5 mins walk around the hotel, there are Lawson, restaurants and also a huge supermarket. Recommended.

The shuttle service ryokan provides after 1430 comes very handy especially with luggages and kids standing in the cold. Saves the hassle of taking the red bus line. Every room has a view of fuji-san which is just amazing. U can catch the breathtaking sunrise and sunset view right in the room. Food is perhaps the other major highlight of staying at ryokans, and the food at Fuji Ginkei are mostly hits. The kaiseki dinner is so satisfying even though they are serving in small portions. And they tasted amazing. The ryokan also included small snacks for guests to enjoy in room with sencha. They even put together a small celebration platter for us! Highly recommended. 🙌🏻

The location and view are excellent, it was close to Mt. Fuji. With clear and good weather, you are able to see Mt. Fuji with a specular view. The staff provides excellent service to the quests. If I am really critical, it just doesn't have a gym room. Breakfast and dinner are great too, high quality! Highly recommended!

The room is spacious and cozy. There is a bathtub in the bathroom. Facilities are plentiful. The view is stunning! We booked a mountain view and we got it! The staffs are kind and friendly. They can communicate in English quite well. The hotel also has a hotspring. It is a great place for everyone, especially a couple or a family

Niezapomniany i wyjątkowy pobyt!

Stay here for a night in a room with futon beds. Location is about 5-10min with car from the train station. The hotel has a shuttle pick up services which run regularly and can be arranged with phone call. Excellent services and the staffs were really helpful. The onsite amenities were great. These include multiple vending machines, laundry (coin), gift store, restaurants, meeting rooms, message chair , kids toys, lounge and observatory deck to view mt Fuji. The hotel had plenty of spaces for work and relax. The room is decent in size and very clean. The breakfast and dinner have a variety of choices and tasted good. This is one of the very few hotels that my parent would also feel comfortable and like. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will book in again if I cone back to mt Fuji.

CCascadiaStayed: May 26, 2026 | 1 night | Room 4F Fuji View Room My partner and I recently enjoyed a memorable one-night romantic escape at Ooike Hotel in Fujikawaguchiko on May 26, 2026, and it exceeded every expectation we had for a special couple’s getaway centered around Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji. We specifically booked a Fuji View room on the 4th floor, and from the very first moment we entered, we knew we had made the perfect choice. Our journey to the hotel was smooth. After arriving at Kawaguchiko Station in the late afternoon, we took a short taxi ride through the charming streets lined with cherry blossom remnants and fresh spring greenery. The hotel’s exterior already hinted at traditional Japanese elegance mixed with modern comfort — a beautiful ryokan-style building nestled in a peaceful area with excellent access to the lake and mountain views. Upon check-in, the staff greeted us warmly with genuine smiles and a small welcome gift of local tea. They took the time to explain the facilities, meal times, and onsen rules in clear English, which was greatly appreciated as we were international visitors. The entire process felt personal and unhurried, setting a relaxing tone for our short stay. Stepping into our 4F Fuji View room was breathtaking. The room was generously spacious for a couple, featuring a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese and comfortable Western elements. Elegant tatami mats covered part of the floor, inviting us to sit and relax in the classic seiza style or simply lounge with cushions. The sleeping area had a high-quality Western-style bed setup that was firm yet plush, ensuring a restful night. Large picture windows dominated one entire wall, framing an almost surreal, unobstructed panorama of Mount Fuji. On May 26, the weather cooperated beautifully. As the late afternoon sun began to soften, we watched the iconic snow-capped peak glow in warm golden light. The mountain stood majestic against a clear blue sky, its details crisp and vivid. We spent nearly an hour just sitting by the window, holding hands, and absorbing the view in comfortable silence. As evening approached, the colors shifted dramatically — pinks and oranges painted the sky during a stunning sunset, turning Fuji into a silhouette masterpiece. Later at night, with the room lights dimmed, we could still see the mountain’s outline under the stars, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere that felt almost private to us alone. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the private open-air bath (rotenburo) attached to our room. This luxurious feature made our couple’s experience truly special. The bath was filled with silky, mineral-rich onsen water that felt incredibly soothing on the skin after a day of travel. We took turns soaking together while gazing directly at Mount Fuji. There’s something profoundly intimate and unforgettable about sharing a hot spring bath outdoors with your loved one, surrounded by nature and that legendary mountain view. The water temperature was perfect, and the wooden tub design blended seamlessly with the natural surroundings. We enjoyed it once in the evening under the stars and again early the next morning as the sky lightened. Each session left us refreshed, relaxed, and deeply connected. Beyond our private bath, the hotel’s public onsen facilities on the upper floors were equally impressive. We visited the larger gender-separated baths in the evening and found them spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly uncrowded. The panoramic windows there offered even wider Fuji vistas, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the scenery while enjoying the therapeutic waters. The variety of indoor and outdoor pools, along with different jet options, provided a complete onsen experience that complemented our private bath perfectly. Dinner was another standout element that elevated our stay. Served in a private dining room reserved just for us, the kaiseki-style course was a culinary journey th

Xxuanxuan0824This place is highly recommended if you're just looking to relax and enjoy the scenery. However, it's not very convenient for independent travelers. There are no shops, no taxis, and no bicycles. Buses are also infrequent, making it really difficult to get around. The only upside is waking up to a view of Mount Fuji from your room. I'd suggest staying in the city; you can still see Mount Fuji from there and have easy access to transportation. Both breakfast and dinner were just okay.

GGuest UserA hidden gem of a hotel with spectacular views of Mount Fuji! I booked a random room just a week before Golden Week, and upon entering, I was immediately struck by how spacious and bright it was. The room itself was also very roomy and incredibly clean. Both of their hot springs offer direct, panoramic views of Mount Fuji! The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the breakfast restaurant started my day off beautifully. It happened to be Children's Day in Japan, and the hotel thoughtfully provided games and movies for the kids. I was very satisfied with this stay. I highly recommend staying two or three nights – it's truly rejuvenating.

GGuest UserThis onsen hotel by Lake Kawaguchiko offers stunning views of Mount Fuji from the room. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the train station in the morning, which is convenient as it's a bit of a walk. For the best photo opportunities of Mount Fuji, head a short distance to the right of the hotel.

NNathalie KarmannThe self check-in was very strange. There were many Japanese staff and a foreign staff members but they insisted that I my name and address manually. Then I had to pay the onsen tax, which is fair. The machine suggested either cash or credit card. I chose credit card and then the staff suddenly popped his head out to tell me to pay cash, which is extremely strange. It was very confusing. Either they set up their machine correctly, or they should stick to traditional check-in since they have a lot of staff. Still after I paid it took quite some time to get the key, they were ineffective. The room was OK, even though my booking was for 2 BEDS and 1 futon but only got 3 MATTRESSES on the tatami floor... I really enjoyed the bathtub with a view on the lake although there are only few of these bathrooms. The outside onsen looked nice but one of the baths was out of use, unfortunately.

PPoh ChinI am so grateful to be able to book a room with Hotel New Century during our stay on 23/3-24/3/26. It was a great and wonderful experience for our family. We were warmed welcome by the staffs and were served with excellent food and services. We felt very satisfied with the dinner and breakfast that provided by the hotel and served by the staffs, especially I can’t forget the senior lady who served us, thank you very much for your kindness and hospitality service. We also felt very grateful and excited as the view from the hotel room was stunning, where we can view the Mt Fuji right infront of the room window, and it was so beautiful!! Thanks to the hotel for giving us an unforgettable memories, we will definitely come again and stay here, also we will recommend this hotel to my friends who will visit here.

AAnonymous UserExtremely satisfied with this hotel, it exceeded my expectations! **Facilities:** I saw some guests mention the hotel being old, but actually, the facilities are excellent. Besides the distinctive tatami rooms and rooms facing Mount Fuji, there's also the hotel's special hot spring. The outdoor bath has such a great vibe, and it's real hot spring water – my skin felt so smooth afterwards. **Environment:** There are absolutely no issues with the hotel's environment, cleanliness, or rooms; it meets a four-star-plus standard. You can see a full view of Mount Fuji within a 3-minute walk from the hotel, with both sunrise and sunset clearly visible. **Dining:** The hotel's breakfast isn't particularly varied; I wouldn't recommend paying extra for it. Dinner, however, is highly recommended. It offers a good variety of Japanese specialties, and many people think it's much better than eating out. Some reviews recommend the Wheat restaurant in the hotel courtyard or the restaurant across the street, but the cost-effectiveness might not live up to expectations, and the actual standard could be quite different. **Service:** I didn't give five stars for service. The hotel's front desk offers Chinese service, and the Chinese staff are especially friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with no communication barriers. However, I was very dissatisfied with the restaurant staff, who I believe were Indian. Breakfast ends at 9:30 AM, and we thought we just needed to have our food by 9:30 AM and wouldn't get more. Instead, the server rudely told us to ”Go Out!” in an impolite manner while we were still eating our paid breakfast. These four stars are solely for the excellent front desk service. **Additional Notes:** If you have high standards for a hotel, want a hot spring experience, and wish to be close to Mount Fuji, this is an excellent choice. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highland and a few minutes from Kawaguchiko Bus Terminal, which is very convenient for returning to Tokyo or other places. The front desk service is fantastic; a big thank you to the Chinese lady at the front desk.

GGuest UserWe really loved our stay at this hotel. We chose a Japanese-style room with a direct Mt Fuji view, and the mountain was right in front of us throughout the stay. Watching Mount Fuji with its shifting clouds and changing light felt almost unreal — and we were lucky to catch a completely clear view from our room. Our stay included both dinner and breakfast, and the food was excellent — authentic Japanese dishes, beautifully prepared, and even more special with the Mt Fuji scenery as the backdrop. The location is also very convenient, close to the bus station. One of the highlights was definitely the onsen experience, especially the rooftop onsen overlooking Mount Fuji. It was incredibly relaxing and memorable. Overall, a very enjoyable stay — highly recommended.

WWFaiOne thing that’s best - Mount Fuji view when the weather is good. It seemed like just right in front of you. No matter from the room or the 4th floor restaurant where we had our breakfast or even the open rooftop. Rooms was clean, top class in-room amenities provided, very good buffet breakfast with scenic view overlooking Mount Fuji and staffs were friendly and helpful. We got free parking in front of the hotel throughout our 2 nights stay. There were so much you could do while staying at this hotel. Whether you want to enjoy the beautiful Mount Fuji with coffee brew in your room, or get discounted price + early entry to the amusement park right beside the hotel, or enjoy the onsen hot pool next to the hotel. They even send us to the top of Fujiyama Tower complimentary and there you’ll have a stunning view of Mount Fuji and the amusement park, plus you’re able greet to the riders of the king of coaster when it pass by. Highly recommended!
