We stayed in nine hotels during our six week Winter visit to Japan; this hotel was the third most stylish but the second most uncomfortable. The corner double room has the right look with a little tea room next to a floor to ceiling window. We had a partial view of the Botanical Gardens which was pretty. The room was uncomfortable for the following reasons: 1. No storage. The room fit out is super minimal but if you have luggage there's nowhere to put it and no hanging space. 2. The designer was going for a zen low lighting experience but the room was so dark we couldn't see anything. There is one dim lamp next to the bed and another low light overhead light. It was so dark we had to borrow desk lamps to be able to see into our suitcases. Maybe the designer was trying to create a moody atmosphere but we found it dreary and depressing. 3. The thermostat has no fine controls - the room was either way too hot or very cold. We chose to turn the heat off and borrow extra blankets and wear extra layers. We chose the corner double room which despite being one of the larger rooms, felt too cramped for a four day stay. The onsen was stylish and cool. The outdoor onsen was set in cute snowscape. Having an onsen with snow around you felt very luxe. Unfortunately this hotel attracts a certain young, nouveau riche clientele who take selfies endlessly in this Instagram ready hotel. There were men taking photos of themselves in the onsen on two occasions; I felt like my privacy had been violated as I was in the same bath. It upset me they didn't respect me enough to abstain from taking video footage. Did they do that just because my partner and I were clearly not Japanese? We enjoyed the authentic breakfast, although I feel like having it once probably would have been enough. The location of the hotel was a bit of a dead zone, unless you love walking there are probably more central locations. If you can't speak Japanese the staff are just OK. I was overcharged and managed to get a refund even despite the language barrier. I would not stay at this hotel again but I did enjoy certain aspects of my stay.

What a find! I could stay here for a month. It's like a home. We had 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms plus terrace. One bathroom en-suite and the other bathroom separated in common hallway. The kitchen has fridge, freezer, water kettle, toaster and oven. Plus other items that can be rented from front including cooking oil, salt/pepper, shoyu caddy. There is only staff in latter half of the day but we really only needed the staff at check-in and to get rental items. Didn't notice any street noise, nice open views of city and mountains. Living area is big, roomy and comfy with plenty of sitting areas. Walking distance to everything, shopping, dining, lots of parking lots. Good place for long stay. Access panel so no key needed.

Very spacious and beautiful. It is the best for long stay because there are all the furniture appliances necessary for life. This time, it was comfortable enough to feel regrettable that the stay time was about 7 hours at check-in early morning check-out at midnight.

It’s really nice to go in winter. The view from the room is so beautiful and the hot spring water is so good. Watching the snow while soaking in it is a top-notch enjoyment. The service was very good. The lady at the front desk even took us to the bus stop when we were leaving and waited until we got on the bus before leaving. There was also a Chinese waiter who explained the language to us very clearly. The only thing is that there is nothing around, and I embrace nature very much. I can only eat meals from the hotel for three meals, and the food is average. The steak for dinner is super fat, like eating oil. If you are more concerned about eating, you can bring some instant noodles by yourself (Japanese) Instant noodles are also super delicious) All in all, it’s still highly recommended.

４泊５日でKyoto-JAPANESE Modern-Aに滞在しました。総合的にとても良いホテル（マンションタイプ）でした。以下に感想を。 ≪残念だった点≫ ・チェックイン時にフロントに誰もスタッフが居らず、20分以上待たされた。 ・「部屋に備え付けてある」とフロントで説明された物が実際には無かった。 ・連泊のため清掃に入る日を打ち合わせたが、その日に清掃がされていなかった。 ≪良かった点≫ ・駅からもそれほど遠くなく、大通公園の西端からほど近い距離という感じ。コンビニも近くに２軒あり。 ・キッチン、冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、および一通りの食器が備えられており、コロナ下で外食を控えめにしたかった家族旅行にはたいへんありがたかった。 ・風呂がとても大きく、バス・トイレ別で、さらにトイレ・洗面台はそれぞれ２つあったので４人の家族旅行にはとても便利だった。ベッドもロフトを含めて驚くほど多数…。 ・タオルやナイトウェアがしっかりしたつくりで、使い心地も良かった。 ・テレビが大きい！複数の動画配信サイトにも接続可能で、時間さえあればゆっくり映画なども楽しめると思った。

As long as you are used to it, there is no problem keeping the room clean and tidy. Garbage needs to be placed outside the door between 7-10 am in the morning. There will be cleaning staff to pick it up, and the garbage bag will be available in the room. The room wifi speed is very fast, it should be noted that it is possible that the router will be unplugged by the previous guest and may not be searched (maybe he needs more devices to charge, the socket is not enough), if you can not find wifi, Just on the left side of the TV cabinet, plug it in yourself. The bathroom is three separate, in the Japanese hotel, it is big. It is very intimate that the slippers are not disposable. I am afraid that the residents feel that the slippers are unsanitary with strangers. A disposable insole can be attached. In general, Pione's price is very high, the room is large and the living is very comfortable. If you must say the inadequacies, then you are unattended. If you encounter problems, you can only communicate by mail and cannot solve them in time. For example, we found a strong curry smell when we met, and the front guests must have made curry in the room. There is no way to solve the problem after the mail is contacted, because the entire hotel is full. We could only open the window all day long, and on the day we checked out, we finally got the taste almost the same, and finally the rest of the guests could live comfortably. I hope that every guest can have more responsibility and consider some for others. If you love this city and love this hotel, you may choose him next time you come back.
