„I had a truly memorable stay at YUNDU and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, tastefully designed, and warm place to stay in Lijiang. Overall, the experience was very positive, with excellent service, cozy design, and many thoughtful touches. There were a few minor areas for improvement, but they did not take away from how much I enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was excellent and honestly better than many meals I had outside. The local auntie who prepares breakfast is incredibly warm and friendly. The mixian is very foreigner-friendly, light, comforting, and not oily or salty like many outside options. I requested extra vegetables and additional boiled eggs, and she was more than happy to accommodate. This care really stood out. YUNDU’s Samoyed dog, Sanjin (三斤), is truly the heart and mascot of the hotel. He is extremely friendly and intelligent. Staff would say things like “去拍照，去跟姐姐玩” and Sanjin would immediately come over. During my afternoon tea, he quietly came over and sat beside me, which was a very heart-warming moment. Upon checkout, I even received Sanjin fridge magnets and a Polaroid photo, which was incredibly thoughtful. First impressions were great. As part of the package, YUNDU arranged an airport pickup from Lijiang Airport using a clean, comfortable EV. The driver was friendly, chatty, and helpful, and the ride to the hotel was smooth and relaxing. I was pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The upgraded room was spacious, perfect for morning stretching, and included a large and very clean bathtub. Bath balls and a sheet mask were provided, which was a lovely winter touch. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were a bit soft for me, but there were firmer ones available, and layering them worked well. The blanket was thick, soft, and warm, and even during power outages, I stayed comfortable. Facilities were well thought out, including a Laifen hair dryer with strong airflow, a large high-definition TV facing the bed with VIP streaming access, and a large humidifier suitable for overnight use. The bathroom layout was excellent for winter, with separated toilet and shower. The electronic toilet has heating and auto-flush, and the shower area includes warm air from above. The mirror lighting is also great for makeup. There were some minor layout quirks. There is no floor heating, and the slippers were placed far from the entrance. The electric kettle was placed on a cabinet with no power socket nearby. Service was one of YUNDU’s strongest points. Staff helped with luggage, provided room tours, and checked in regularly via WeChat. When I mentioned possible altitude discomfort, they even gifted me an oxygen tank. The boss was friendly and happily helped me take photos with Sanjin. The only small gap was the butler service. I only realised who my butler was on the last night, and one included service, a butler-accompanied visit to Baisha Ancient Town, which never happened — neither I nor the staff remembered it until I reviewed my package later on Trip.com. That said, my butler was extremely efficient in arranging transportation to Lugu Lake, with smooth coordination and reasonable pricing. The entire property is tastefully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The fireplace in the lobby is a highlight and perfect for winter evenings. During my first two nights, there were power outages. While this delayed some of my work, the room stayed warm. The upside was zero light pollution, and I could see a sky full of stars, which became one of my favourite moments of the stay. I strongly recommend YUNDU to anyone looking for a beautiful view, thoughtful design, warm service, and a cozy yet affordable stay in Lijiang. If you love Lijiang, come to Baisha. I initially booked it thinking I'd just try it out and switch if it wasn't good, but the moment the staff opened the door, I instantly decided to stay. And I wasn't disappointed! The hotel's decor and layout felt meticulous and thoughtful, while also being incredibly aesthetic. Inside the room, there were even three types of insect repellents: an electric mosquito swatter, mosquito repellent spray, and mosquito coils. There was also a weighing scale, and it came with a washing machine and laundry supplies. Plus, the surrounding environment outside is exceptionally beautiful. I have to say, the owner truly knows how to pick a location! From my room, I could see the distant mountain views and the charming close-up scenery. Looking out the window, it felt like the window itself was a viewfinder – simply stunning! The room offers incredible value for money! This is also the most detail-oriented hotel or homestay I've ever stayed in. Both the room itself and the staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Very friendly and helpful reception, and as a foreigner who cannot speak Chinese, I really appreciated everyone’s hospitality, including the owner who speaks English. My room was beautiful, and equipped with all amenities needed. The location is great, close to many attractions and it was surprisingly easy to get a taxi each time. The vibe of the hotel is truly unique - quiet, solitude, happy farm-style! The animals all have their own little “hobbit houses,” and are living their best lives at this beautiful, clean hotel. Furthermore, the snacks and afternoon tea was delicious and presented very well. I had so much fun doing the travel photo shoot at the hotel, and watched in awe as the sun rose over the mountain very morning.”
