„We had a good overall stay at Daiichi Takimotokan, a large traditional ryokan-style hotel. While the property is a little dated, it is well maintained and kept clean. The hotel itself offers plenty to do, including restaurants, a souvenir shop, simple arcade games, karaoke, massage services, a public onsen, and even a small reading area with Japanese books. You can easily spend time exploring the building without needing to go out. The location is very convenient. It is just outside the main (short) shopping street and within walking distance to Jigokudani, making it easy to explore the area. Our stay included breakfast and dinner buffet. Dinner had a wide variety of options, including popular sashimi selections and steamed snow crabs, along with both Japanese and Western dishes. Breakfast was a simpler spread but still satisfying. We stayed in a Japanese-style room and found the futons comfortable to sleep on. As we visited during winter, the room had central heating only. At times, we cooled the room by slightly opening the window to let in some cold air. Yukata robes are provided in the room (or you can choose one that fits you at the lobby), and you can wear them around the hotel when heading to the onsen, restaurants, or arcade. The public onsen area is spacious and features many different pools with various functions, so you can take your time and enjoy the experience. Just remember to wash yourself thoroughly at the shower stations before entering the onsen pools. Unfortunately, we did not try the outdoor onsen despite it being open — we were a little intimidated by the winter cold! Overall, we would recommend this hotel, especially for first-timers who want to experience staying in a traditional ryokan. Tip: There are direct buses to and from the hotel from New Chitose Airport and Sapporo. The bus stop is only about 50 metres from the hotel entrance, which made walking in the snow much easier for us. However, the service runs only once a day, so be sure to check the schedule and plan your itinerary accordingly.”

„First time stay in onsen ryotei. Very traditional room but huge! Even though it's old but quite well-maintained. My room comes with private onsen and it so worth it. I don't have to go to the public onsen and can dip into the onsen tub anytime I want. Room amenities is very well equipped. Coffee machine and dessert plus drinks are complimentary. Staff will go into your room during dinner time to prepare your futon or tatami bed. The room comes with kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Both are good especially the dinner. It's like fine dining with 10 courses. All taste magnificent and very good. Staff is very attentive too by explaining every dish served in a private room. I enjoyed the stay and food very much! Well worth money spent! This hotel located a bit deep end and public transport a bit difficult from the KTX station to the ryotei so please take a cab to and fro. That's the easiest way and the hotel staff can help to book for cab back to the KTX station too.”

„Very enjoyable stay, room was spacious and clean. Good number of hot spring pools and onsen water quality. Dinner was above average (as I had better ones at Kurokawa Onsen), it was nicely presented and the Noboribetsu pork and their sweet wine was especially delicious. Breakfast was slightly above average, just your usual Japanese western breakfast. Lots of variety and taste was okay. The lady that served us was nice and helpful. She kindly explained the dishes and how to enjoy it in fluent English.”

„From Noboribetsu train station, take a bus bound for Ashiyu Iriguchi & take off at the last stop which is in front of the hotel. Bus only accept cash or physical credit card (no IC card). Around 15 mins walk to Jigokudani & centre area. Have free shuttle to Bear Park. Breakfast & dinner is buffet style with lots of choices. The Japanese Western room is spacious, has 2 beds and tatami area. Onsen on the 7/F (outdoor & indoor) and 8/F (indoor only). Overall experience GOOD.”

„The location was good and we can park our car in the hotel:s covered car park. It was a great arrangement with snowy weather. The rooms were huge with large sofa and lounge. The bedroom areas were very spacious as well. The in-room Onsen was a great treat. Very spacious for two adults. Relaxing on the Onsen watching the snow flowing down in the beautiful scenery was surely the best experience. The staff are excellent, very polite and helpful. The food was good and see the chefs: details. Excellent stay and enjoy all the time there.”

„The ryokan was quite charming with lots of Japanese accents and architectural details. We signed up for one traditional breakfast and loved the experience. We loved the yukata outfits provided to schlep around the ryokan or even around town. The location was a bit of a walk going to the business/food/shop road but this only got a bit inconvenient when we had to drag our suitcases for about 10 minutes getting to the bus stop on our way back to the train station... thank goodness it was downhill all the way! Noboribetsu Onsen was a really cool place to visit!”

„Great service from the hotel staff. Hotel room is a little old but it's clean and the bed is comfortable. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the Onsen. They rotate the left & right side of the onsen between male and female everyday. Which is great because you get to view on both side. They have a few different onsen 'pool' - sulfur , salt, iron, cold onsen. The outdoor onsen is best with the waterfall view. The dinner package is definitely worth the money. Beer is not included in the package but the local beer is a must try especially the ipa.”

„Mieliśmy wspaniały pobyt w tym hotelu! Najważniejszym z nich było zdecydowanie *autentyczny japoński zestaw kolacji i śniadania * dostarczany jako część pakietu. Obiad w stylu kaiseki* był piękny, z różnymi daniami sezonowymi, które pokazały lokalne składniki i smaki. Każdy kurs od sashimi do popijanych i grillowanych przedmiotów został przygotowany z ostrożnością i równowagą. Czuło się to jak prawdziwe doświadczenie kulturowe, a nie tylko posiłek. Śniadanie następnego ranka było równie imponującea tradycyjne * japoński posiłek z ryżem, zupą mizo, grillowanymi rybami, piekarnikami i kilkoma małymi daniami bocznymi. Wszystko było świeże i przygotowane z lekkim, zdrowym dotykiem. Jedynie posiłki uczyniły pobyt warte, zwłaszcza jeśli szukasz zanurzenia się w *autentyczny japońskie gościnność i kuchnia*. Bardzo zalecane dla tych, którzy doceniają tradycyjne jedzenie w spokojnym, relaksującym środowisku.”

„We had a pleasant 2-night stay at this refined ryokan, centrally located in Noboribetsu and just steps away from the Jigokudani (Hell Valley) and trail access to the surrounding area and a natural foot bath in the woods. Upon arrival, we received a courteous welcome and were served a small treat and matcha before entering our suite. Our suite was a comfortable and spacious western style room (two twin beds) with private outdoor onsen and sitting balcony overlooking the lush foliage of the hillside. All meals were served in the dining room of our suite through a service door. Meals are omakase style—exquisite and tastefully presented, with dishes that varied each day, nothing repeated. Though we enjoyed the public onsens (particularly the outdoor baths on the ground floor), we most preferred the luxury of having our own private onsen. I highly recommend this ryokan if you’re looking for an elevated onsen experience!”
