„STAFF PRESSURING FOR 5-STAR REVIEWS AT CHECKOUT
Staff Interaction: March 25, 2026 | ~1:10 PM
At checkout, one male staff member and two female staff members at the front desk aggressively pressured me to provide a 5-star review on the spot. Even after I told them I would do it later, they repeatedly insisted, saying ”No—right now” Please be aware that recent 5-star reviews may have been forced under these circumstances.
Hotel Review: Room 8109
Overall Experience
While the hotel's location and facilities are excellent, the stay was marred by an uncomfortable checkout process and near-constant connectivity issues.
The Negatives
Unreliable Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi in room 8109 was almost non-existent. I had to top up my own mobile data and was unable to use the screen-sharing feature on the TV due to the poor connection.
Front Desk Atmosphere: Most desk staff appeared disinterested and unwelcoming. In contrast, the cleaning staff were consistently friendly and full of positive energy.
Room Layout: My room was on the first floor and had no windows. Additionally, all TV channels were in Chinese, though I was able to enjoy the Olympics on CCTV5.
The Positives
Prime Location: Unbeatable convenience. It is only an 8-minute walk to the Bund and very close to other popular hotspots.
Room Quality: The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable bed and have great shower pressure.
Nightly Snacks: A very nice touch—they offer snacks from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM, which was extremely convenient.
They offer free tea and there's also a small gym.
Final Verdict: I would consider staying here again for the location and the snacks, but only if the Wi-Fi is improved and the front desk staff stops forcing guests to provide immediate 5-star feedback.”
