"The only thing good was the view. The check in was bad, with no place to park while we registered until the person who was ahead of us moved their car and then we had to wait for our key. The overnight parking lot is across the street and unpaved. The wheels on my luggage were of limited use and since it was raining when we left I had to clear the mud and gravel before I could put the luggage in my vehicle. There is no place to get any food or even a cup of coffee. You had to drive more than a couple of miles to eat. The room was spartan, the lighting controls awful and confusing. There was no place to hang your towel and wash cloth hence they both ended up unusable for a second shower. I m not sure who gave this place good reviews. It clearly isn't worth the money."

"we were very disappointed in our accommodations. they put us in a bungalow the air conditioner barely cooled. some of the windows had no screens some of the blinds were broken the bathroom had a hook latch the bed was turned the wrong way Instead of a screen door the porch had a sheet the shower at the pool did not work in spite of the fact that the sign at the pool said to shower before entering the pool we would not recommend this motel. It was not as described on line"

"We just took a "midweek weekend" and had our first stay at York Harbor Inn. We couldn't have asked for a nicer time. EVERYONE from the people I spoke with on the phone, to those at the desk, and those in the restaurants were incredibly friendly and helpful. So much so, that my husband, friend who was with us, and I kept commenting on it to each other. We got an email the day of our reservation saying that pipes had burst in the building we had for our reservation (they have four (I think it's four) buildings that comprise the inn) and they gave us options for other rooms. They upgraded us to a really lovely room. The location is excellent - across the street from the ocean. The furnishings were old (in a good way), heavy, wood pieces that really contributed to the place feeling warm and homey. The beds were superior. The shower pressure was strong. The sharing living room with fire place was so comfortable. The breakfast was top shelf. Homemade coffee cake and apple cake and blueberry muffins. Homemade pancakes one morning. Everything about breakfast was great - and included in the room cost. They have a restaurant and a pub in the main building. We ate at both. The staff were wonderful. The servings were more than ample (the bean and goat cheese salad was enormous, and the mussels appetizer was super generous). I had the ravioli with seafood, which was delicious. My husband loved the mussels. The crab cakes were truly full of crab meat, not filler. Our servers were relaxed, helpful, and friendly - making our dining even more enjoyable. We definitely will return to the Inn, and recommend it to everyone we know. It was a special couple days. Did I mention how friendly the people are there?"

"At the beginning of the trip, I would have given this a better rating. Very happy with the size of the room, especially for a beach hotel/motel. It is also very modern and the bed is very comfortable. There isn’t a closet and the TV is useless since you can’t move it off the wall and it isn’t pointed at the bed. The pool area is very nice with a lot of different types of seating and one pool is heated. I saw other reviews say there isn’t a coffee machine in the room but we had one and a hairdryer. The rest I will leave up to a staffing issue. Another guest said a lot of the employees left for college so there was no pool bar and the service was slow. They don’t clean the room but I asked after the second day and they made a note of it. Then after we were gone for the day it wasn’t done. They had then left for the day so I asked for two towels since I had left the dirty ones on the floor and it took 40 minutes to get them. They had to go to a different property to get them. They were a better quality so that was a plus but you might want to bring your own since they don’t give you a lot and they are very thin. The location is great right across the street from the beach. It is at the rocky part so you have to walk a little bit. After exploring Maine, I think I would try Wells or Ogunquit since the beaches weren’t rocky and there was more to do if you don’t have small children. "
