Staying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks. Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares. The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food. This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

The environment of Taole Forest B&B is very good, quiet, very close to Shaolongguan, the room is warm, the heating is very good, especially warm. The young ladies have a good attitude and warm service. There is also a big fat cat called Red Bean, which is very cute. I will definitely stay here next time!

I had a long layover in Chongqing and booked a stay at Fengtang Hotel. Its central location in the scenic area made it incredibly convenient to get around. They also offer complimentary coffee and bar vouchers, which were a nice touch for a relaxing drink. I especially want to highlight their complimentary photography service. I initially thought it would just be three casual snaps, but Haifeng, the photographer, was amazing! Not only did he take fantastic photos, but he also acted as a tour guide, pointing out attractions along the way. In a city like Chongqing, where it's easy to get lost, having a guide and photographer was an absolute lifesaver. It was the perfect way to spend a day exploring!

Upon my first arrival in Chongqing, I stayed at berkins Hotel, located inside the Chaotianmen Center building. If you’re checking in for the first time, take the elevator to the 30th floor. When you get out, make a left and continue past a few doors until you see the large LED Perkins sign. Don’t get confused by the first reception desk you see—that belongs to the Cia Hotel. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff allowed me to check in at 7:00 a.m. after my flight. I was exhausted, so being able to get into my room early made a huge difference. The first thing that impressed me was the incredible view. The hotel sits high above the city, and the skyline is beautiful during the day, but it’s even more impressive at night when all the city lights come on. The room itself is on the smaller side, but it’s modern, very clean, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The room also has a smart voice assistant, similar to Alexa. You can use it to open or close the curtains, turn all the lights on or off, and play music. It takes a little time to learn the commands, but it’s a fun feature that makes the room feel very modern. For around $40, I thought it was a great experience, especially for a first visit to Chongqing. That said, next time I’d probably book one of their $20 rooms since I don’t spend much time in the hotel anyway. The view in this room was amazing, but I think the cheaper option would suit my travel style just fine. The staff all spoke English and were very friendly and helpful. There’s also a washer and dryer available on the 40th floor. Just ask the front desk for the access code, and they’ll happily give it to you. Overall, I highly recommend staying here if it’s your first time visiting Chongqing. It gives you an amazing first impression of the city with its futuristic atmosphere, beautiful skyline views, modern design, and excellent value for the price. I’d definitely stay here again.

The room with the shared bathroom - the room itself was ok, but the shared toilet was absolutely filthy. I added another 20 yuan to change to a room with private bathroom. That room was acceptable

Traveling with my bestie, we chose this hotel and had an amazing experience. The room was spacious and bright, spotless, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The soundproofing was excellent, so we could chat at night without disturbing anyone. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and there was a constant supply of hot water, with all the toiletries provided. Check-in at the front desk was quick and the staff were very friendly. Downstairs, there were tons of snack bars and bubble tea shops, making it super convenient for going out and shopping. It offers great value for money and is definitely a top choice for a girls' trip.

The room was very spacious and clean, and they provided disposable bath towels and toilet seat covers. The owner was incredibly nice and upgraded our room for free since it was the off-season. It's super convenient here, close to both bus and subway stations. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!

The room is very good, clean and tidy. It is located next to Hongya Cave and overlooks the entire Hongya Cave at night. The surrounding transportation is convenient and there are many delicious foods. I recommend it!

Traveling to Chongqing with two other families and our kids, booking this three-bedroom apartment was definitely the right choice! The rooms were spotlessly clean, and it came fully equipped with a washing machine, a full-length mirror, and a projector. Each family had their own private space without feeling cramped. We could walk to Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave, and there were tons of local snack shops and restaurants downstairs to choose from. The host was incredibly warm and patient. We all felt so comfortable and at ease during our stay. Highly recommend this for families traveling together!

Here's why: To ease the kids' first-time discomfort in this mountain city, I specifically chose this hotel with a swimming pool for our first night. I expected them to be happy, but I never anticipated they'd be *this* happy! 🥳 **Location:** ”Quiet in the midst of bustle” – a perfect location! 👍 Convenient for exploring and dining with kids. I didn't want to stay in a crowded tourist area but also not somewhere too remote. The hotel is right next to the famous Shibati (Eighteen Stairs), but unlike other popular spots, it's not overrun with people. Within a ten-minute walk, you can find many highly-rated small eateries. After dinner, we'd stroll through the night market to help with digestion, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep on our first evening. **Experience:** The 'small but exquisite' hotel offered an even better parent-child experience. 💯 First, let's talk about the public pool. Although not large, due to the limited number of rooms and thus fewer guests compared to chain hotels, we surprisingly had the pool all to ourselves around lunchtime. The butler even thoughtfully delivered afternoon tea poolside, making our beautiful and refined swimming experience doubly enjoyable. Next, a shout-out to the small details in the room. The family suite provided soft wipes, and in addition to eye masks and earplugs, there were even digestion aids. The anti-collision strips by the bed and the electric towel rack in the bathroom gave this mom a great sense of security. Upon check-out, we even received a mysterious gift; both the packaging and the selection were incredibly thoughtful and ceremonial. Oh, and I heard this hotel was renovated from a 1950s old foreign villa, right next to the former French Consulate. No wonder I felt a sense of restrained elegance walking through every corner of the hotel.
