We have recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable 10 night vacation at Vivara Private Pool Villas & Spa Retreat in Jimbaran, Bali. Our aim was to get away from our busy life and take a complete break. The resort comprises 48 beautiful, private, self-contained pool villas, most of which are one or two-bedroom. Each villa is like your own home-away-from home, with pool decking and lounges, an alfresco kitchen bungalow (with a daily replenishment of non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar), outdoor rain shower and bathroom, and a spacious bedroom with lounge area. It is clear that the resort aims to make every guest’s experience as comfortable as possible. As we were so comfortable in our villa, we were determined not to become complete ‘holiday recluses’ and, despite room service being the option for many of the guests, we always walked to the poolside restaurant for breakfast each morning, afternoon tea every second day, before feasting on a fabulous evening dining experience on alternate evenings. Needless to say, we did not leave Vivara hungry! The resort is like a small community, and staff are more than happy to transport you to and from your villa using golf buggies, or you can take advantage of the communal bikes and scooters and ride around the resort pathways. Additionally, a complimentary shuttle service to and from Jimbaran Beach is available, and times are customised to guests, creating a very personalised and welcome service. Being a spa retreat, we indulged in five deep tissue massages each, and they were a highlight of our stay. The private bungalows are built in a traditional Balinese style, are quiet and calming, and the masseuses provided a comfortable, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Thank you, so much. The heart of the resort, though, is the staff. They were all, without exception, incredibly friendly, helpful, and always keen to converse and learn about their guests, or share their insights into Bali. We cannot recommend the Vivara staff highly enough. Thank you, Keke, and all your staff, for making our stay so enjoyable. We loved being immersed in the Balinese style of the resort, and Vivara did not disappoint as the ideal place for us to unwind and relax. We have no hesitation in recommending Vivara to any visitors searching for the same experience.

The staff and Location make this joint. The rooms are very good, large and well maintained, The Pool Villas are private and whilst at the moment they have some construction going on, you honestly would not know. The staff will run you into Lovina beach proper every day, and quite a few venues will come and pick you up and drop you back. The only downside to this place is the food. They need to get back to basic and serve the wonderful dishes that people travel to Bali for, forget the westernized menus of Burgers and Ribs etc. Serve a more traditional menu, Breakfast was pretty good. But the restaurant was the only reason this place did not get 5 stars. The staff are the best asset this place has.. a very relaxing time in Lovina, fix the Restaurant and you have a 5 star property in every way. Lovina is very laid back, no yells of ”transport” or ”taxi” no hassling from eager vendors, some polite questions as you walk past an outlet, nothing more.. A great spot for a chill out.

I can’t speak more highly of this excellent resort. Yes, it is away from the now very busy Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, etc and thats great. Less traffic and less noise! Just get a driver/taxi to visit other areas, they are still very reasonably priced (by Aussie standards). The gardens are beautifully maintained, the pools sparkling and our villa very comfortable and private, also it’s own plunge pool…..very refreshing in a hot climate. We ate very well from the extensive buffet breakfast (included in our package), the a la carte lunch menu (small meal for us after a hearty breakfast) and the dinners when we ate in. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and very well presented. I would like to give my greatest praise, and thanks, to the staff. I think we pretty much met them all as it’s not a huge resort. Without exception they were friendly, smiling, helpful, unobtrusive and a delight to spend time with. This was not our first trip to Bali, but probably the most memorable for all the right reasons. One aspect that should be addressed though is the lack of a full length mirror in the villa. A negative for my wife and adult daughters. Also I think 2 sets of keys should be provided in a 2 bedroom villa when 4 adults are staying. This would make the daily comings and goings easier

The positives are that it is in a central location. Staff are lovely and helpful, responsive and warm; nothing was too much of an ask. The pool is a good size, clean and private.Beds are comfortable and the hotel is secluded from the street noise. Daily room service was excellent and breakfast was included. The negatives: the villas are a little tired and need some updating and minor repairs. Overall, good value for money and though it is not a five star hotel, it served our needs very well.

Lumbini Villas & Spa was a single suite in true Balinese style with full swimming pool and very accessible to the Airport with shuttles to Lippo Mall and Discovery Mall shopping centres. Breakfast was included which was more than adequate every morning and delicious. A complimentary Balinese Massage was included in our package and was well received and liked very much. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed our meal and drinks. Staff were very obliging and helpful is all aspects of the resorts services from Reception, Housekeeping, Spa and restaurant and breakfast services which catered to our needs. The landscaping, public pools, gymnasium and bicycles were all well kept and this resort is one to return to and enjoy all aspects of Bali from this delightful location in Jimbaran on Uluwatu Street

Facilities: All normal hotels have them Hygiene: quite clean Environment: The front desk is semi-open, without air conditioning. Check-in is slow. There are only four chairs. It’s hard to know where to sit on a hot day. There is no spa room. You need to make an appointment with the waiter to do the spa. Service: average. Breakfast is a buffet. When we were halfway through getting the food, the waiter came to check your room card. It was quite embarrassing. He was holding a plate in his hand and looking for the key with one hand. The waiter was very inconspicuous and did not check your room card when he entered the door. He just sat there. I don’t check it when I’m serving you. I have to ask you while you are standing holding the plate. There were no paper towels in the restaurant, and the waiters were all chatting. We had to go to the counter to get paper towels ourselves... really stingy. Two people stay in a one-bedroom villa, and only one toothbrush is given... At 11:20 the next day, there was a sudden power outage, and the hotel's landline service was unavailable. I had no choice but to check out early because it was very hot. I told the front desk, and the front desk said they would check it out, and casually said sorry. . Generally speaking, the hotels run by Indians are really not that good. They are too stingy and speechless. I will not book them again in the future.

It’s a huge territory with 2 big swimming pools, restaurant, spa center and different types of rooms Also there’s a yoga shala which has all the necessary yoga props The spa area is also super beautiful and it’s good to rest there after a long day I especially liked the bed and pillows — very comfortable to sleep Unfortunately the lake was under repairs, but we were offered an upgrade to the sky villa Thank you very much for having us. We enjoyed it a lot

Location is near the Fuji Q highland train station. About 10 mins walk. But it took us longer than 10mins due to the summer heat. There is barely any shelter towards the villa so it is recommended to drive. Due to its close proximity to the train station, it’s easy to get to Kawaguchiko lake. The hotel staff are very welcoming and friendly. I reached the hotel earlier than the check in time so I left my luggage at the hotel and went out to venture. To my surprise, they already brought in my luggage and even put perishable items into the fridge upon check in! The amenities are exceptional and there are free alcoholic beverages for consumption. There are many free items like masks and facial products as well. The bath is fully automated and it’s recommended to have a good soak after a day of traveling. The sukiyaki dinner and breakfast were also great, with large portions and high quality ingredients provided.

Away from the hustle of central Chaweng, so is a good spot to be based for quiet times and used as a base to explore the island. Beachfront pool villas are nice, large and great views of the ocean. Private pool is a bonus and well worth the upgrade. Hotel was busy when I stayed and everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. The pool isn’t the largest but plentiful for the amount of rooms. Don’t forget, there are the villas with private pools, so a fair number of guests will be in their own area. Access to the beach is not directly in front of the hotel, but that’s a good thing otherwise I would be hearing everyone in front of my villa each day. Access is the side of the resort just past the restaurant. Along this stretch of beach has a few other hotel bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and if you head to the furtherest headland point, and head inland, you will come across a handful of bars and restaurants. As many people have said, the hotel is next to a road - but like most hotels in Samui, it’s just the design of the island. You can avoid the main road for your walk to the local area by going along the stretch of beach. And when you are on the island, why wouldn’t you want to walk along the beach?! So don’t listen to those comments about nothing nearby. If you want the hustle of the nightlife, Chaweng central is 15 minutes away. Get on the shuttle or order a taxi for 300thb. It’s a 4 star hotel, trying to get back to some kind of normal after covid and over time, I am sure the owners will reinvest their money to make improvements where some other guests have commented about in other posts but I do think it is dependent on the room type you book and/or are assigned as most of them are fine. Give it a go, it is worth it. I’ve been to many hotels over the years - more than the average Joe - and it’s only recently where I’ve checked in and out of two hotels on the same day in all these years.

For the price you'd think they'd spend some of their huge profits on upkeep of the rooms. The bathroom was full of mould, the bathtub had been siliconed to the walls, but have pulled away. The entire bathroom needs renovating. The bedroom was on a very badly installed floating floor. There were electrical wires hanging loose from the night stand. The WiFi and set top box were jamed between the TV and wall. The lights didn't work properly, one flicking for minutes afyer the switch was off. The walls are super thin and guests should be reminded to be courteous of other guests, as I was woken at midnight by loud talking and laughing which didn't stop until 230am, and I was getting up at 345am for sunrise. The owner/reception needs to learn manners and how to operate a hotel, because (1) leave a note in English that when reception is unattended to go next door, (2) don't deny early check-in with the pretence the rooms weren't ready, because I checked all on the ground floor and all were ready, plus when I finally got to my room at 5pm the floor was wet in the bathroom and bedroom. (3) Learn some manners, which seems odd in Taiwan as everyone is well mannered, so maybe that's why her attitude stood out so much as she's surrounded by well mannered people. (4) Understand that travellers want peace of mind for left luggage, do at least pretend to make it secure. The room door was damaged both inside and near the lock on the outside. Provide a bathmat, well a few, coz the bathroom flooded so easily.

We stayed as a family of 3 for 2 nights. The room was clean and neat. Check in was fast and hassle free. The staff were helpful and friendly. Location of the villa is good, walking distance to nearby seafood restaurant. Distance to shopping malls is not too far too as you can easily get a Gojek there. It is around 6km to BCS mall and A2 food court. One down side I feel was the lack of variety for the breakfast, it would be good if there is buffet spread. The music from the neighbouring cafe/pub was pretty loud till which could disturb guests who may be there to chill n relax. It didn't bother me very much probably I was tired out so slept pretty well. Overall a pleasant experience staying in this resort. Highly recommended for couples who wish to have a romantic getaway.

Decided to have a short staycay with our lil’ bub. We were greeted by mba Siti, fuss free check-in. Our 1BR villa was great. Clean, amenities provided was alrite, could be better. Lil’ bub loves the bath tub. Thank you mba Novi for the mozzie repellent for our lil’ bub. Staffs greeted us whenever we pass by! Felt so comfortable during our stay. Had a pleasant stay with Kamuela. Will definitely come back again 😍 one minus point will be the breakfast! Hope to see improvement during our next stay! 💙

A three-story villa with European style decoration and a large yard where you can play billiards, sing, play mahjong, barbecue, and play video games... The lobby on the first floor is spacious and bright, and the bedroom has a large wardrobe. It makes me want to buy one myself. Really comfortable and pretty! The housekeeper service is also very good and patiently answers all questions. I will stay here again next time with my whole family!

I can’t speak more highly of this excellent resort. Yes, it is away from the now very busy Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, etc and thats great. Less traffic and less noise! Just get a driver/taxi to visit other areas, they are still very reasonably priced (by Aussie standards). The gardens are beautifully maintained, the pools sparkling and our villa very comfortable and private, also it’s own plunge pool…..very refreshing in a hot climate. We ate very well from the extensive buffet breakfast (included in our package), the a la carte lunch menu (small meal for us after a hearty breakfast) and the dinners when we ate in. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and very well presented. I would like to give my greatest praise, and thanks, to the staff. I think we pretty much met them all as it’s not a huge resort. Without exception they were friendly, smiling, helpful, unobtrusive and a delight to spend time with. This was not our first trip to Bali, but probably the most memorable for all the right reasons. One aspect that should be addressed though is the lack of a full length mirror in the villa. A negative for my wife and adult daughters. Also I think 2 sets of keys should be provided in a 2 bedroom villa when 4 adults are staying. This would make the daily comings and goings easier

The positives are that it is in a central location. Staff are lovely and helpful, responsive and warm; nothing was too much of an ask. The pool is a good size, clean and private.Beds are comfortable and the hotel is secluded from the street noise. Daily room service was excellent and breakfast was included. The negatives: the villas are a little tired and need some updating and minor repairs. Overall, good value for money and though it is not a five star hotel, it served our needs very well.

Lumbini Villas & Spa was a single suite in true Balinese style with full swimming pool and very accessible to the Airport with shuttles to Lippo Mall and Discovery Mall shopping centres. Breakfast was included which was more than adequate every morning and delicious. A complimentary Balinese Massage was included in our package and was well received and liked very much. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed our meal and drinks. Staff were very obliging and helpful is all aspects of the resorts services from Reception, Housekeeping, Spa and restaurant and breakfast services which catered to our needs. The landscaping, public pools, gymnasium and bicycles were all well kept and this resort is one to return to and enjoy all aspects of Bali from this delightful location in Jimbaran on Uluwatu Street

Facilities: All normal hotels have them Hygiene: quite clean Environment: The front desk is semi-open, without air conditioning. Check-in is slow. There are only four chairs. It’s hard to know where to sit on a hot day. There is no spa room. You need to make an appointment with the waiter to do the spa. Service: average. Breakfast is a buffet. When we were halfway through getting the food, the waiter came to check your room card. It was quite embarrassing. He was holding a plate in his hand and looking for the key with one hand. The waiter was very inconspicuous and did not check your room card when he entered the door. He just sat there. I don’t check it when I’m serving you. I have to ask you while you are standing holding the plate. There were no paper towels in the restaurant, and the waiters were all chatting. We had to go to the counter to get paper towels ourselves... really stingy. Two people stay in a one-bedroom villa, and only one toothbrush is given... At 11:20 the next day, there was a sudden power outage, and the hotel's landline service was unavailable. I had no choice but to check out early because it was very hot. I told the front desk, and the front desk said they would check it out, and casually said sorry. . Generally speaking, the hotels run by Indians are really not that good. They are too stingy and speechless. I will not book them again in the future.

It’s a huge territory with 2 big swimming pools, restaurant, spa center and different types of rooms Also there’s a yoga shala which has all the necessary yoga props The spa area is also super beautiful and it’s good to rest there after a long day I especially liked the bed and pillows — very comfortable to sleep Unfortunately the lake was under repairs, but we were offered an upgrade to the sky villa Thank you very much for having us. We enjoyed it a lot
