The hotel is within 10 minutes walk from Sapporo JR station and 3 minutes walk from Hokkaido University so the location is very convenient. The room size is generous and it has a public bath on the 2nd floor. Overall a comfortable stay and good value for money. It would be even better if the reception could understand a bit more English or Chinese.
The hotel is conveniently located just across from the JR station, only about a one-minute walk away, which made getting around extremely easy. The reception staff were clear, attentive, and very welcoming. Check-in was swift and seamless.
The buffet breakfast costs ¥2,500 per person and offers a great selection of dishes, making it a satisfying way to start the day.
The fish market is just around the corner, where you can find fresh seafood, fruits, and dried scallops. I would recommend purchasing from the individual stalls outside the main market area as the prices tend to be cheaper. There is also a food court within the market if you would like to enjoy a meal there.
Overall, the location is excellent, especially for those arriving by train and wanting easy access to the local market and dining options.
I booked this hotel last minute after cutting short my stay at another hotel in Otaru due to exposed cable wiring under the bed area. Having learnt from that experience, I checked this room carefully upon arrival and was relieved to find everything well maintained. Mitsui Garden did a great job with the room setup, and everything felt clean and safe.
The room is spacious enough for three guests, with good walkway space, a hanging area, and a proper wardrobe. It feels more comfortable compared to other triple rooms I’ve stayed in. The bathroom is also a decent size and not as cramped as what you typically find in many Japanese hotels.
The hotel offers a public bath for both men and women, which is a nice feature to relax in. However, the laundry setup could be improved. There is only one combo washer-dryer machine, and the waiting time is quite long. Even at 3–4 a.m., guests are queuing to use it, and each wash-and-dry cycle takes around two hours. You can monitor the washer status directly from your room TV, which is convenient, but it would be much better if the hotel could add a few more machines. It can be inconvenient when guests miss their pickup time and others have to wait. So, you really needs to plan and be more considerate in using the washer.
Breakfast has a limited selection and leans more towards Western-style dishes, but there is a live chef station serving both sweet and savory crepes, which adds a nice touch to the morning experience.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view from the room was absolutely beautiful, and the large window allowed us to enjoy the full scenery outside, which made the stay even more relaxing. The room also comes with a bathtub, which was a great bonus — perfect for soaking and unwinding after a long day. Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Nearby there are lawson, 7-11, family mart and big supermarket near our hotel. Opposite our hotel, there is a ramen shop that have very nice ramen and chicken karage.
But the only thing the train station is a bit far from the hotel.
pros: near sapporo station (connected to another building that is connected to sapporo station in the basement floor, so you don’t have to suffer from the sun/cold.
onsen and sauna is great.
laundry waiting time can be seen from the TV.
Microwave provided so that you can heat your food from the food you bought at the convenience store that is situated directly next to the lobby floor.
cons: room space a little small and no table to do business work but for its price it’s worth it.

Location is great. Just a few minutes from the subway which is great. Staff are kind and helpful. Room space is adequate. For improvement, maybe they can upgrade the bathroom so it doesn’t look old. Other than that, a great stay. Would definitely consider booking the same hotel next visit. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
The staff services are not awful. After staying for three nights and checking out, the chunky lady refused to store my luggage. She asked for my passport right after I passed the main entrance and in the lounge area but not the front desk. I understand only a small portion of Japanese people understand English. I spoke slowly to her in English and told her I was speaking in English and surely she knows I'm speaking in English. However, she keeps using a Mandarin translation pocket device and didn't realise Cantonese language is different. I see English has been the lingua franca but that's not the lady's and her coworker's views.
Try to avoid this hotel if you're a Hongkongese, *********, Mainland Chinese because more than one staff member is ******. They will just keep rolling their eyes and their facial expressions and fitgets are telling their guests only Japanese people are welcomed.

This hotel is super convenient, just three meters from Exit 24 of Odori Station. It even offers views of the Sapporo Clock Tower from the smoking area on the second floor or the rooftop terrace!
The rooms are quite spacious, definitely bigger than what you'd typically find in Tokyo or Osaka. They even come equipped with a sound system and record player, which is a really cool and unique touch!
Location-wise, it's excellent for transport and dining. You can easily access the surrounding areas via the Odori Station underground passage, so even in snowy weather, getting around is a breeze.
Check-in is done using self-service machines, and the lobby is on the second floor, with a breakfast restaurant and bar on the first.

Great
LLiduoxiliaolinuolisiI'd call this unbeatable. First off, the front desk service was truly above and beyond my expectations. It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!
GGuest UserLoved that the hotel allows guests with tattoo to use the onsen though this wasn’t made known explicitly with written signs. Hotel was located at the end of Tanukoji so it’s a distance from the main area although still walkable.
Note that the bathroom doesn’t have a space to put your dry clothes and you will have to wear it outside unless you do not mind the bottom of your pants getting wet. Not very convenient for mix gender groups even though there’s a blind you can draw but still be visible from the mirror reflection. Room was located in the annex building which has alot of stairs so not that convenient for elderlies too. Overall, decent hotel but recommended only if you have no issues walking or are driving.
HHunhundidiI stayed in a standard room. It was quite spacious, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. Although this room type didn't have a bathtub, the hotel's onsen (hot spring) was more than enough to enjoy. It was easily accessible and never too crowded, so I could really relax. The hotel is very close to Hakodate Station, about a five-minute walk, and there's a convenience store within five minutes, which is handy. They also offer a free shuttle bus to various Hakodate attractions, which was incredibly convenient.
Service: I arrived very late, but the front desk staff were still incredibly warm and welcoming, providing lots of helpful tips and information.
Cleanliness: The room was clean and tidy, and housekeeping came to clean it every day.
GGuest UserI absolutely love Hanabishi Hotel — I had the best 2-night stay here. The hotel is quiet with no large tour groups, and I really enjoyed the traditional feel and relaxing vibes. I tried all of their room types, and my favorite is the futon room with a private onsen. The futon is very comfortable, and the room itself is incredibly spacious.
The staff are friendly and helpful, even assisting me with arranging taxi service. The location is convenient, only about a 10-minute drive from Hakodate Airport. I also loved both the breakfast buffet and the dinner set — they truly pampered me like I was the queen of the world.
The public onsen is beautiful and huge. I will forever choose to stay here whenever I’m in the area.
BB.V.For us it is the second time in this wonderful hotel and every time it is like living a dream: it feels like being in a bubble thanks to all the well-being in which you are immersed. You are pampered by every service present and by the kindness of the staff, which makes you feel at home. The food is simply divine and you would just like to have a more spacious stomach so you could taste more and more. Nature is unsurpassed, every day you find yourself meeting spectacular creatures even just going out a short distance away. You will not find a similar place in all of Japan, where man meets nature in a perfect combination of balance, harmony and deep respect. We hope to be able to return a third time and relive this beautiful dream again. Thank you for everything Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel!
GGuest UserThis was the best hotel of our trip. From check-in to check-out, we felt the warmth and saw the smiles of the staff throughout. The included dinner was delicious and exquisite. The set breakfast was also pretty good. The hotel offers a variety of entertainment activities and facilities, so you won't get bored at all, and the environment is beautiful. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; you can hear doors opening and closing from upstairs and next door.
GGuest UserBoth the public areas and the room were impeccably clean, making for a very pleasant stay. The lobby and areas in front of the elevators had a subtle, comforting scent, creating a truly comfortable atmosphere.
Having a convenience store and a drug store right across the street was incredibly handy.
The staff were all very attentive and polite, which was much appreciated. This is definitely a hotel I'd want to stay at again.
KKunjinkaozhiyaoyaoEverything was great, except for the slightly hard slippers. The crab with ponzu sauce for dinner and the sweet shrimp for breakfast were absolutely delicious! After a soak in the hot spring, my skin felt so smooth. They had a wide variety of shampoos, mostly Pola, and also a hot spring water hair conditioner. I liked it so much I bought it directly from the hotel shop, it was even cheaper than Taobao resellers. Some of the hotel's little decorations were really cute. You can ask the front desk to book a free shuttle to the bear farm.
GGuest UserThe hotel is a 12-minute walk (straight line) from West exit of Hakodate JR Station. If you choose to take a cab, it's only a 2-minute drive. The airport limousine bus stop is just a minute away from the side entrance of the main tower.
The hotel has a main tower and a premium tower. They offer welcome drink snack. There are 2 restaurants, a sauna, a vending machine and a convenience store on the ground floor. Free onsen is available to guests from either tower.
GGuest UserOverall, it was great! The hotel is very new, and the amenities, which include Pola products, a folding comb, and cotton pads, are self-service. The hot spring has hot, cold, and outdoor pools, and the pajamas are really thick and cozy.
The family room was perfect for our family of four. However, probably because it was the off-season, breakfast only offered Japanese, Western, and vegetarian options. We stayed for eight nights and had the exact same breakfast eight times... though it was delicious, haha!
