We were only here for one night but the location is perfect as it’s right at Kumamoto Station, so it couldn't be easier to get to, and having the Amu Plaza mall right there for shopping and food was so convenient.
Being on the higher floors, the views of the city are amazing. The rooms feel very modern and spacious, but the free onsen (public bath) was the best part. It was definitely a great way to relax at the end of the day. It was handy having convenience stores, restaurants and a mall just a few steps away.
Location is very convenient, mall, parks, bus interchange just opposite, hot spring also nice, hotel even provide free drink & ice cream outside of the hot spring resting area, also the free ramen during 930pm-11pm.
This Japanese onsen hotel met all my expectations. Every day after coming back, I could enjoy a hot spring bath. Inside, there's one hot and one cold bath, plus a sauna. Outside, there's an open-air hot spring. After bathing, you can choose from four types of ice cream and read Japanese manga for free. You can also pay for a massage. For the late-night snack from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM, they offer matcha and hot chocolate, along with a vegetarian ramen that comes with a quarter-egg. Overall, I looked forward to returning to the hotel every day after my excursions. I'll definitely stay here again next time.
Retains its old and rustic charm in spite of the clean and comfortable interiors. Room was really spacious, onsen (especially the outdoor one) was very nice. Portion of kaiseiki breakfast and dinner portions were honestly a bit too much for us, and some of the sashimi was rather chewy. But overall still a nice experience!
Lokalizacja - naprzeciwko stacji Kumamoto.
We had a great stay at Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park. We booked a room in the South Building, which was spacious, clean, and had a large, comfortable bed. The hotel provides yukata robes in various colors, which was a lovely touch for guests to enjoy the onsen experience.
♨️ The onsen was large and relaxing — perfect after a day of exploring Aso.
🚗 Parking was very convenient, located right next to the hotel. Just across the parking area, there’s a 24-hour convenience store called Obentou Hirai offering ready-made bentos, hot meals, ramen, and udon — extremely convenient for late-night snacks or quick meals.
🍱 We chose a room-only package without meals, and in the morning, we visited the local souvenir and food center at Aso Station. It had a great selection of local foods and breakfast options, plus plenty of gifts and souvenirs to bring home.
Overall, a comfortable stay with everything we needed nearby. Highly recommended if you’re exploring the Aso area!
An absolutely wonderful experience. The staff at the ryokan were incredibly polite and always ready to help with anything we needed. Upon check-in, we were provided with traditional attire, pajamas, tabi slippers, bath amenities, and a small welcome treat with matcha and coffee. We also asked at the front desk if they could give us a ride to the bus stop after check-out, and they kindly said yes, of course.
Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. At first, we were planning to explore several other local onsens, but after experiencing the ones at the ryokan, we felt completely satisfied.
There are separate baths for hotel guests (men’s and women’s), baths open to both guests and visitors (also divided by gender), as well as a private onsen. One of the onsens also has a sauna. The traditional dinner and breakfast were both impressive—delicious and very generous in portion. The surrounding grounds are stunning, perfect for peaceful walks. This ryokan is a bit further from the main cluster of inns, but that was exactly what we wanted—to enjoy quiet walking. At night, our futons were laid out for us, adding to the authentic experience.
The only reason I deducted one star is the very bright green light on the ceiling that stays on all night and can’t be turned off or covered. I didn’t have a sleep mask with me, and the ryokan didn’t provide one, so I had a sleepless night. It was quite unpleasant. That said, I still highly recommend this ryokan—it’s an unforgettable place to stay.
I stayed at this hotel twice. The second time (this booking) we had a room on the older (?) wing and it was almost twice the size of the first one. So for this review I will only share feedback on this “older” room.
This room was big and thus good for us as we had 2 large luggage and more space in the room allowed us to open and pack our luggages with ease.
The bathroom was large with the large traditional bathtub. Toilet had bidet and etc but lacked heating which made it very cold in the winter. Basin tap was still the old turn types which was not eco friendly as it’s more difficult to shut it off.
Location was just opposite the train station which was excellent. But the nearest convenience store is also only at the train station which is about a 5-7mins walk away.
Breakfast was curated to suit the Japanese palette more and ends at 9a.m which is really way too early!!
We left something behind in the hotel but they managed to send the item back to us at our new hotel (still in Japan) which was highly appreciated.
Despite a few minor shortcomings listed above, the pros still outweigh the cons and I’ll definitely be happy to stay here again.
Bardzo dobry

Great
GGuest UserWe stayed in a twin bunk bed room. Very clean, toilets and showers were great (about 6 toilets, 4 showers). Common space was very inviting and cozy with a nice wood heater. A bit of noise until midnight with creaky floorboards but aside from that, very quiet location. Not much open around for food on a Monday night in mid March but we went to Coffee Plaza for dinner and had food from Lawsons for breakfast. Highly recommend!!
GGuest UserI stayed here with my parents. We had separate rooms and booked this room for them. It was new, well-equipped, and wonderful. It was a very cold day, but the heating in the room and the semi-open-air bath in the room were warm, so it seemed comfortable for my elderly parents. The staff were also very courteous. Although I didn't book this room, the room type we stayed in was cold, as the heating in the semi-open-air bath and the room didn't work very well. If you're staying during the cold season, I think it's better to choose a D-type room or higher. I would like to visit again during the better seasons.
Lluv travelingI recently stayed at THE BLOSSOM Kumamoto and it was easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Japan.
The location is unbeatable — it’s directly connected to JR Kumamoto Station and sits above a shopping mall, which made everything incredibly convenient, from transport to dining and shopping.
The hotel itself feels very modern and well-designed. The lobby and common areas are spacious and stylish, and the rooms are surprisingly roomy by Japanese standards. Everything was spotless, and the layout (especially the separate shower and toilet areas) made the stay very comfortable.
One of the highlights was definitely the public bath (onsen). It’s clean, relaxing, and perfect after a long day of exploring. The hotel also offers great facilities overall, and you can tell everything is still quite new and well maintained.
The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout the stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the service really added to the overall experience.
Overall, THE BLOSSOM Kumamoto is a perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and modern design. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kumamoto.
NNataliia KhokhlovaI really liked the hot springs with high iron content in this ryokan: I had sore throat for about 3 weeks before the journey, but it recovered just after the first bath. We also liked that family baths are for free if they are vacant (in the evening there wasn't any problem). The staff is attentive, thank you very much. The food was delicious, and there was more than enough for a man. However, we would recommend choosing a Japanese-style breakfast, since frying eggs on a burner is not very convenient. Nevertheless, everything was delicious. As for the drinks for breakfast, there was only coffee from the coffee machine. But there is always green tea in the room (we had problems with the hot pot, so they brought us a thermos).
The only thing we did not like was the heating. However, it is unlikely to do anything with it when it is minus 3 degrees outside at night. Without heating, it was very cold, the floor was cold. But the heating is very noisy, and it is difficult to find a temperature balance. We sweated a lot at night under the blankets, and since the shower is not in the room - it is in the onsen, it was inconvenient. Thanks God, we had spare pajamas with us.
Overall, for this cost of accommodation we can give 5 points.
NNongzagangzaoxiThe transportation is a bit inconvenient. I booked a day tour to Kurokawa Onsen as the final stop. After the tour, I left the group and called or emailed the hotel to pick me up. They can pick up from the Kurokawa Onsen tour bus parking lot or the Kurokawa Onsen bus stop, as there's only one bus stop, so it's hard to get it wrong. The hotel is a 5-minute drive from Kurokawa Onsen's main street, and a 40-minute walk. Upon arrival, the hotel, nestled in the mountains, felt quaint and charming, making a great first impression. The service from check-in was excellent. I booked a one-night stay with two meals. The kaiseki dinner was exquisite and delicious, lasting for two hours. Breakfast was also very tasty. We booked a room with a private onsen, and my family of three thoroughly enjoyed soaking in it. The room had both a bed and a tatami area, so we could try both. There are also outdoor open-air baths and indoor public baths. Overall, the experience was superb. I recommend it to anyone who loves tranquility but is worried about the food – this place will satisfy you. I was very pleased with this stay.
LLei,taoOverall, a fantastic stay! I really appreciated the complimentary drinks and the spacious bathtub in the room. The service was excellent, and I'll definitely be returning for another visit. My only minor critique is that the location isn't the most convenient, but despite that, I found the overall experience to be very satisfactory.
HhelensilivrenThe tea cup in the room was not clean, i wish the hotel payed more attention to that. The hotel itself is very close to the station and the breakfasts are good, I've been there twice and each time the food was a little different. The staff at reception desk is very helpful
AAnonymous UserWe had a nice and exciting stay at Kamenoi hotel Aso. The view is a picture perfect. The Mt. Aso is so a perfect view. It looks like a wallpaper . The room is so clean and comfortabe. The buffet dinner and breakfast is absolutely perfect and delicious. The nice is also nice and accomodating too. Were looking forward om our future stay again. Its a very recommended place👍👍👍
GGuest UserSmall compact room with modern interior. Comfy bed and well ventilated with mini fan provided. They provided extra bedsheet so that the sofa bed is converted to another single. Big enuf for a teenager to sleep on. Space big enough to open just one huge luggage. Somehow the room feels damp but we just stayed for two nights so did not bother changing rooms. Lots of free parking available. Near Aso milk factory which is a must visit for delicious pastries and snacks.
GGuest UserThis was my first time experiencing a Japanese-style hotel, and everything from the hot spring facilities to breakfast and dinner was absolutely perfect. It’s definitely a place I’d consider visiting again. The only drawback is its location upstream of Kurokawa Onsen, which is a bit far from the town. If you want to see the town's night view, you'll have to drive. During the day, you can hike from the hotel down to the town, and the natural scenery along the way is beautiful. Since it's downhill, it's not tiring. I recommend booking the hotel's shuttle service to pick you up from the town's visitor center in the afternoon, so you don't have to hike back uphill to Sansuimoku.
