„This hotel, which opened 26 years ago, has a very Japanese-style interior. It's owned by the same proprietor as the Doraku Hotel. There's a public hot spring bath, and I specifically asked the staff who said the hot spring water is transported here by vehicle. You can tell the owner's meticulous attention to detail from the in-room amenities and items in the public hot spring area – all top-tier brands. The complimentary amenity kit and toiletries exceeded my expectations. The hotel is designed to mimic a Japanese garden, similar to Kyoto, and there are no elevators inside. If your room is on the second or third floor, you'll need to climb stairs, but the front desk staff will help carry your luggage to your room. Upon checkout, they'll also assist with bringing your luggage down to the parking lot if needed. Overall, it's a hotel that offers a fantastic experience.”

„I love our accommodation! It has a great location, walking distance to attractions like Yunding night market and edelweiss park. There are many food options and convenient stores all located close by. We had a loft with king bed and 2 single beds, so spacious and comfortable. We arrived early before changbaishan was closed due to bad weather and we were able to check in before noon, and they also kindly extended us a late check out. There is a washer and dryer at the basement where we did our laundry free of charge. We had a wonderful experience here!”

„The Chang Bai Shan hot spring hotel is a great hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to visit! They have public hot spring pools that are clean with great amenities.  Around the hotel there is a ‘walking street’ with a great selection of shops within walking distance of the hotel, with a grocery store, a couple of restaurants and a gift shop.”

„Our family of 4 had a wonderful 2 nights stay in mid December. The great service started even prior to our stay as we had 2 personal concierge 小张 & 莹莹 assigned to us. We had requested for connecting rooms via Trip and 小张 & 莹莹 contacted us directly via WeChat. They not only helped us get connecting rooms, they also gave advice and helped to arrange for our luggages to be sent to the hotel while a private driver (additional cost) picked us from the train station to start our tour of Changbaishan immediately so that we do not have to waste time traveling. All the staff at the hotel were wonderful as well. Our room package included 3hr ski tickets and access to the natural hot spring. It was our family’s first time trying to ski and we asked our personal concierge to arrange for private coach (additional cost). Immediately upon arriving at the ski lodge the coach was waiting and led us through the entire chaotic process of collecting and wearing the gears. The hotel has direct unlimited access to the hot spring and it was also a great experience not to be missed (Don’t forget to pack your swim wear!) It even has a fish pool where we dip our whole body. There’s also a Cute Pet Paradise with different animals you can feed. Overall there’s plenty of activities for everyone and we will definitely highly recommend the hotel to everyone coming to Changbaishan.”

„Location: Excellent. Walking distance to Changbaishan North Slope entrance. Hotel has a complementary transfer in the morning too. It is by the Er Dao Bai He River and there is a walking trail leading to En Du Li (恩都里) tourist park where with many shops and food options and a few cultural performances. Staff and Service: Excellent. Everyone was welcoming. In particular I would like to call out 前台/管家的 小余和小王。They are very helpful and follow up on our arrangement for pickup proactively. Transport: Excellent. Complementary pick up from Changbaishan High Speed train station. Our driver, 刘司傅, is very helpful and gave us a warm welcome.”

„Changbai Mountain Landscape International Eco-Exchange Center — where “eco-exchange” really means exchanging knee joints for enlightenment 🐕🦺❄️ This old dog picked this place as a first-timer to Changbaishan because on paper it reads like a dream: ✔️ 5-minute walk to the Changbai Mountain VIP entrance ✔️ Hot springs inside the compound ✔️ “Eco-exchange” — which I later learned refers to exchanging comfort for character development Location? Prime marrow bone. 🦴 Reality, however, is a scenic winter obstacle course. The hotel is thoughtfully scattered across three separate buildings — one for check-in and breakfast, another for hot springs, and because suspense is important in life, the Food Plaza lives in yet another building. In winter. On ice. With wind that slaps. Not exactly age-old-dog friendly. I waddled. I shuffled. I negotiated with my knees. At one point I believe my soul lagged behind and had to catch up. To offset this Arctic triathlon, the staff are available 24/7 on WeChat, responding faster than I can type “why did I choose this hotel?” Efficiency deserves a respectful tail wag. 🐾 Now let’s talk Food Plaza, the hotel’s redemption arc. The food is genuinely scrumptious, warming, and emotionally supportive after being bullied by Changbai winds. Takeaway is allowed — which means you carry it yourself. Eco-exchange again. This dog fetches his own dinner. 🥸 Then there’s the hot spring schedule. Opens at 13:30. When the mountain is closed and the hot spring is closed what exactly is an old dog meant to do? Stare into the snow? Question life decisions? Age visibly? Ah yes — write this review. ✔️ ⚠️ Now, the bone that refuses to go down smoothly. Despite having a relaxed stay, I felt continuously pressed for a 5-star review — on departure day from the first meeting in the lobby to gentle reminders all the way up the bus. At that point, it stopped feeling like hospitality and started feeling like an exam I didn’t sign up for. It made me sad, actually — because it suggests staff performance may be chained to guest reviews like sled dogs pulling corporate KPIs. Trip.com, if you’re listening: no guest should ever be pressured to review. The moment reviews are pushed, ratings stop being honest and start being decorative. This old dog is an independent reviewer. I don’t bark on command. I don’t roll over for stars. And the harder the push, the more my paw hovers over the lowest rating out of pure principle. Still — despite the ice, the walking, the soul-searching — the location alone makes this a smart base for Changbaishan first-timers. „It's a very new hotel and it shows. Breakfast is good but a bit expensive. Free drinks, gym and laundry are very nice additions to the overall great service. Location is a bit away from the center of the town (though just a couple of blocks away), so it's more quiet there. And thank you for the free station pickup service!”

„After visiting Tianchi Lake, I stayed at the Sheraton in town for two nights. The hotel is relatively new, so the environment, including the room floors, was very clean. The hardware facilities, such as the gym, laundry room, and smart toilets, were quite complete. The hot spring is indoors, with about 10 pools of various sizes. It wasn't crowded when I went, so the experience was good (though you have to buy a waterproof pouch, which was provided for free at a similarly priced hotel on the mountain). The hotel breakfast was just average; on a particularly busy day, it felt like restocking was a bit slow. In terms of service, perhaps because it's newly opened, it still falls short compared to other hotels in the same price range. For instance, on the day of arrival at noon, there was no reception or guiding staff at the entrance (even the driver who brought us from the mountain remarked on the significant difference in service compared to the hotel that picked us up on the mountain). When I went to the front desk to check in, I casually asked if an upgrade was possible. The front desk staff quickly said I had already been upgraded, but when I asked what room type, they told me it was the one I originally booked. Only after I questioned it again did they check and say they had made a mistake and that the hotel was full that day, so no upgrade was possible. That same evening, I saw a paper bag of trash in the elevator that wasn't cleaned for several hours, and vomit next to the elevator on the first floor also went unattended for a long time. Several bags of trash in the bin next to the guest room elevator upstairs were still there overnight until 7 or 8 AM the next morning. There was even a mix-up with the driver's pick-up time for our departure. The LG washing machines in the laundry room seemed to lack a smart QR code reminder service, and even the staff didn't seem to know how to use them well. The butler did respond and provided some souvenirs (a fridge magnet and snacks, which was nice), but overall, the hotel's service still needs significant improvement.”

„I had a great stay at this hotel in Harbin. The customer service was really good. everyone was friendly and helpful throughout my trip. The room was very comfy and made the stay feel relaxing. Breakfast was simple but decent, which was convenient since I didn’t have to stress about finding food early in the morning. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable experience.”

„Location is close to the forest nature park incl. waterfalls 20 min. (need additional ticket) and is directly at the hot springs bathing area 100m. The entrance ticket was included for the hotel guests. The ticket for waterfalls and vulcano lake could be purchased at the hotel. In general very nice in winter time.”
