„It's at a good location, very near to Kawaramachi station. About 1.5km walk to Takamatsu station. It's near the area where all the izakayas are. The bed is clean, however I find the shower is not so clean comparing to the Japanese standard. Kitchen is a little small for accomodating so many people. I love that they have self-service laundry and dryer all in one, which I find myself using it a lot! Not to mention, the common space in 2nd floor is spacious.”

„The staff of Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel are professional and considerable. Their service are excellent, especially 1) The shuttle bus driver (morning shift strong man, forgot asking his name). When we arrived at Shodoshima Ferry Pier at 11:00am on April 7, we found a hotel shuttle bus, but not sure if it's the one of our staying hotel. We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling. 2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall. 3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required. 4) The foods for dinner & breakfast buffet are very nice and yummy. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Overall, Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel is a very professional and comfortable accommodation for stay. We're pleased and feel glad choosing this hotel.”

„First of all, I must say the service was absolutely fantastic!! They really work hard and did a really great job, especially the lady with a pair of glasses! So sorry I didn’t get the name, please transfer my big thank you for the assistance for checking in, picking up my baggage and driving me from the hotel to JR station. You are very cute by the way lol Secondly, although the price is a bit high, I do recommended it if you come here for a rest, a celebration or even with friends. A quiet, spacious hotel which must try once in a lifetime.”

„We have stayed in many Daiwa Roynet Hotels in Japan, and we’ve trusted the Daiwa Roynet brand very much. However, the Takamatsu property is the worst we’ve experienced so far, and after this stay we will be more cautious about choosing to stay at Daiwa Roynet in the future. The facilities are very old and urgently need refurbishment. The cleanliness of our room was also quite shocking. There was hair in the bathroom and bathtub, and hair on the pajamas they provided, as shown in the photo. There were stains throughout the room as well. The bedding used is also smaller than the bed as shown in the picture. If you’re planning day trips to the islands, the hotel isn’t very close to the port. There are plenty of shops nearby, though, so the overall location is ok.”

„- the room is small and typical of such chain hotel - located right in front of Takamatsu JR station - trams stops are a short walking distance away - convenience store also require small amount of walking - the room’s window “opened” to the wall of the next building (it’s so near you can touch it, just 10cm apart!) - overall not much issues but not a memorable place. Does it’s job as an overnight accommodation. - front desk ladies were polite but sterile”

„This place is roughly 10mins drive from Takamatsu station/Ferry Pier, free parking is available. The room is not the most spacious (of course it depends on the room type!) but all staff are exceptionally helpful to make my stay pleasant! Their breakfast is amazing, they offered both western and Japanese food and even local delicacies too!”

„During my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue — and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient — cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality. A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need — a detail that reflects the hotel’s attention to guest convenience. While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasn’t an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey — one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to fellow travelers.”
