I stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Seri Malaysia Kangar and overall it was a decent and comfortable experience. The room was basic but clean, and the essentials were provided. The staff were polite and helpful, which made the stay smoother. The location is convenient if you’re travelling around Kangar or heading towards nearby attractions. Parking was also easy and accessible. While the facilities are a bit dated, they were still functional for a short stay. Nothing too fancy, but it’s a simple and affordable option if you just need a place to rest. Suitable for a short trip. 👍

Check-in was smooth, and we received a warm welcome from the staff. A deposit of RM100 was required. We booked two twin rooms, and both were very neat, tidy, and comfortable. The beds were especially cozy. The hotel seems newly built, so there were no major maintenance issues. However, the air-conditioning in my room could use some servicing the blower and filter need cleaning, as the airflow had a clogged sound. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with comfortable rooms, and with a bit of improvement in aircond maintenance, it would be even better.

Near to Kuala Perlis jetty (walkable just 300meters, if you don't bring many luggage, if not just order E-hailing for RM4). Room was big with balcony facing the sea. Iron, mineral water, coffee and kettle provided. Breakfast included and was good (Fried rice, porridge complete with condiments, macaroni,toast bread, pulut nyior, pancake and sambal bilis, cereal, fruits, coffee and juice). Although the hotel quite old, but I satisfied stayed here. Easy to go to ikan bakar restaurant, mosque, jambatan Kuala perlis, kg warna warning, etc.) They have lunch buffet for RM15.90 per person.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean and well-maintained, which made for a very comfortable visit. The location is also excellent — close to everything I needed, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transport. Would definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserWent to Kangar for business trip and stayed at this hotel. Clean and quiet. There is a cafe downstairs but I wish it opens in the morning as well. Went to a mango farm nearby and had the sweetest mangoes famous in Perlis.

GGuest UserI booked 1 night stay here because I was heading to Hat Yai by train and thought this would be a good place to stay. However, the location is remote and nothing nearby so you are reliant on Grab even for food which will cost you more in delivery than the bcost of the food itself. With the benefit of hindsight, it would have been better to stay in the town of Padang Basar itself where food and drink would be available in walking distance and you are not too far from the border with Thailand. There is no restaurant on site but there is a Cafe which which offers basic stuff and, as far as I could make out, it not open all the time - hence my need to order food via Grab delivery. When you first turn the shower on for a hot shower, only cold water comes out, I waited a couple of minutes letting the shower run but it was still running cold so I went to Reception to ask about it. The young man at Reception initially said it was down to a Maintenance issue so I asked if it affects ALL the rooms or just mine. If only my room was affected then I should be moved to another room which had hot water in the shower. I said that I must best have a hot shower in the morning and the young man said he was the same as he also prefers to have a hot shower in the morning. The young man said he will try to find out before morning. A few minutes later, he came to the room and .said that we nust let the shower run for a few minutes and, sure enough, he was right as hot water started coming through. So, for the benefit of other guests, remember to run the shower for 5 minutes or so to get hot water. So, it was not a maintenance issue at all. On the positive side, after I ordered soup/food to be delivered by Grab, there was no crockery in the room nor any cutlery to eat the food with. The grab driver asked the hotel Reception young man for help and the hotel kindly provided a bowl and steel cutlery so I could have my food. This was very much appreciated so thank you to the young man at Reception who was on duty that evening.

GGuest UserOverall, the stay was okay. The hotel is very near to Kuala Perlis Jetty, making it a good choice for travelers who need a place to overnight before catching the early ferry. The room cleanliness was quite good, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only downside is that the hotel does not have a lift, which may be inconvenient for guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues.

GGuest UserCons: 1. There's a connecting door in the room leading to the next room. Although it has a lock, you can still peek into the other room, which feels very unsafe. 2. There were monkeys in the hallway, geckos on the walls, and ants in the room. You'd think I was staying in the middle of nature. 3. There are bedside tables, but no power outlets near the bed, making it very inconvenient to charge devices. 4. The showerhead switch is like those you find in fast-food restaurants – is it to save water? You turn it on full blast, then have to slowly turn it off until no water comes out, then open it again, and slowly close it again. Pros: 1. There's a parking lot right at the hotel entrance, making parking convenient. 2. The staff are friendly and provide good service. 3. The bed sheets and duvet covers are changed for every new guest. 4. The room size is quite spacious.
