Had a great experience staying at City Inn Macau! The room was clean, big and I did not expect the complete amenities from toiletries, slippers, free water, coffee and tea. The room has a smart TV and an automated curtain which is really a plus. I had a good sleep no hearing noises from the adjacent rooms. The shower area is separated so the water will not overflow with the toilet area, this is something I valued. Water pressure is good with consistent hot water. I got an early check in at 11am and I left my luggage after check out without additional charge too! The 2 receptionists I encounter are both nice and welcoming. I have already recommend this to my friends and I am sure I will come back.
At the first, it’s difficult to find the sign. Because This hotel located in narrow alley at real local area. But good thing is you can find local restaurant arround hotel. My conclusion is ‘Terrible staying’
- Very old (classic) hotel
- Too much serious smoke smell
- Noisy sound all night from next room
- No safty box
- No refrigerater
- Supply brush & tooth paste
- Supply slipper shoe
Location is great if you’re planning to visit popular tourist spots. Cleanliness was well maintained too — the toilet was spotless.
However, the check-in experience was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.
========== (TL;DR) Imagine you had to experience this after a 4 hours flight ==========
The young female receptionist I encountered on arrival handled things very poorly. She kept insisting she couldn’t find my booking, smiling the entire time as if it were a joke. Instead of checking properly herself, she kept handing me random printed bookings, one after another, asking me if any of them were mine. It honestly felt like I was doing her job.
If the names were even slightly similar to mine, I would understand. But she passed me almost every booking she had in her hands, including ones with clearly Japanese or ********* names that were nowhere close to mine. I even asked her, “So does that mean I’m supposed to sleep on the streets tonight?” Yet she still giggled, with zero sense of apology or urgency. It made me wonder if she had ever been trained in basic customer service or professional ethics.
Eventually, she finally handed me the correct booking with my name. But even then, after I confirmed it was mine, she said, “I gave you this earlier and you said it wasn’t yours.”
Like… excuse me? You’ve been passing me completely unrelated bookings the whole time?!
I initially wanted to rate the service 1 star, but I added one more because the hotel cleaner left a good impression, the cleaner auntie was polite and attentive.

Facilities:
The TV in my room was broken, so I’m guessing it was just for decoration. Ventilation also seemed poorly designed. Despite booking a non-smoking room, I was woken up early in the morning by cigarette smoke seeping in from outside my door. Not recommended for light sleepers either, as the soundproofing is weak. I could clearly hear people talking outside, though I’m not sure if they were in the corridor or inside another room.
This hotel IS ACTUALLY VERY GOOD! Spotless with very strategic locations. But if you’re non smokers and allergic to cigarettes smoke, DON’T EVER THINK ABOUT staying here. It’s a small hotel and the rooms are quite small with narrow hallways. That’s not an issue but most guests are SMOKING IN THEIR ROOM and the smell is SOO STRONG. I never had a sleep for two nights straight. That’s really UNFAIR. I paid just like any other guests but I couldn’t enjoy my rights for a peaceful comfortable sleep. Not even an hour!
Mind you, this is a non-smoking hotel. Signs are everywhere with fines of MOP 1500 for violations. But people are still smoking cuz the policy isn’t really enforced. It’s just formality.
I really wanted to check out after one night but unfortunately the booking couldn’t be modified or refunded. So, I had no choice but to suffocate from the smell of cigarettes.
However, I have to appreciate the staff hospitality especially the guy whom I reported the issue. He tried to find me a better room but unfortunately none was available. Well at least he tried and he apologized for what happened. This is really commendable.
But as a hotel, it could do better by strictly enforcing the policy of non smoking. It shouldn’t be hard to identify the guests who smoke.
Receptionist can’t speak in English. Had a hard time communicating with the hotel. Also, bed is very tough so it’s uncomfortable to sleep. They don’t have available mattress toper.
Also, wifi is not working on our first day of stay.
Taxi won’t also like to drop us off in front of the hotel is the alley to too narrow.
But place is near Senado Square. Also, amenities and place was superb.
Situated nearby tourist attractions, the hotel was a suitable base for short walk to the Senado Square and vicinity. Hotel rooms are typical smaller size here but was good enough for single occupancy. Would be great if the toilet has a bidet or smart toilet installed. Nonetheless still a good hotel that i would recommend for short stay in Macau.
The location is decent, close to the road, but you have to go up a dark, narrow staircase to the second floor. However, to my surprise, the room had large windows and great natural light. It was pretty standard overall. The bathroom was tiny with no separate shower and toilet, and the building is quite old, so everything felt a bit run down. There was a notice in the drawer stating a 1500 fine for smoking in the room, yet there was an ashtray on the desk (?!). The curtains even had a few cigarette burn holes. I booked this place for over 400 in advance, only to find out it was around 300 if booked on the same day. What a rip-off! But it's conveniently located for getting around, so I'll forgive it.

SSandao. The environment was good, for 200 patacas for a one-night stay in Macau, a big bed, and a private bathroom – it was more than enough. If you're out late in Macau, it's definitely more comfortable to stay overnight. The front desk staff was very gentle and patient. You can dry clothes on the rooftop. The only thing is this room was on the first floor, next to a masseuse, and an older masseuse was a bit... overly friendly.
GGuest UserThe disposable bed sheets, duvet covers, and towels were of very poor quality. I strongly recommend replacing them with standard ones. The room wasn't ventilated, so there was a musty smell when I first checked in. Overall, it was not a good experience.
JJulia031089If you consider booking Pensao Carmen, you should know that on the signage of the hotel it’s NOT Pensao Carmen! Remember that, otherwise you’re gonna have a hard time looking for this place)) I’ll add photos of the actual signage.
Pros: conveniently located in Macau’s old town, it takes around 10 minutes to get to The Ruins of St.Paul on foot, and all other historical sites are just around.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, even if they didn’t speak English at all. I met the three of them and all were old ladies, super nice and cute. I left my luggage after check-out for the whole day before moving to Coloane village hotel.
The bed sheets were of good quality and very clean, I enjoyed my sleep after a tiring flight. The bed, though, was kinda hard, not for everyone, but my back was grateful)) pillows were also comfortable, better than at some much more expensive hotels.
You can get as much water as you want from the water station at the corridor.
There’s a bus station 5 minutes walking from the hotel, the name is Ponte 16, it’s right in front of the famous Sofitel.
CONS: The hotel is located on the second floor, there’s no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up there.
My room was tiny, it’s really just for one person. The bed is kinda short, for me it was enough but I think a taller person might not feel comfortable enough there (my height is 162 cm)
The bathroom is tiny, too, and given its dark green design, it looks rather dirty. I’m not sure if it was, but I found someone’s tooth brush in the shower and some hair in the drainage. Yuck!! Only one big towel was clean though.
All in all, I didn’t expect much from it so neither should you 🤩
AAnonymous UserThis is my second time staying at this hotel. It's right next to the Lower Market and very close to the bus stop, making it convenient to get anywhere. The front desk requires a 100 deposit, and they accept RMB, HKD, or MOP. The decor is relatively new, and the cleanliness is good. I'll consider staying here again next time I'm in Macau.
KKatarzyna LThe hotel is located right in the center of the old town, which makes it very convenient—most attractions are within walking distance. The view from the room overlooking the city is definitely a nice bonus.
The staff speak English and are very helpful, which made the stay much smoother. There’s also a free luggage storage option, so you can easily leave your bags after check-out without any hassle.
That said, the hotel itself feels a bit outdated and doesn’t fully match the photos in terms of quality. However, we chose one of the cheapest options in Macau for a weekend stay, so we weren’t expecting anything luxurious. Overall, it’s a practical choice if location matters more than comfort.
GGuest UserWe stayed for two nights. We did know that they only provide disposal towels so we brought our own. What we did not expect was disposable bed sheets (pic). It was very uncomfortable feeling on the skin, made me sweat like crazy probably because of the plastic like fabric. It also ripped during the first night, I expected it to get exchanged when they bring new water (it’s very common to get two water bottles per night) but it didn’t. So we were left with the ripped disposable sheets and the actual blanket came through. That made me think how often that must have happened before: the people start to sweat (macau is warm and kinda humid) into the actual blanket which is probably never cleaned because of the disposable sheets. Next guests the same thing happens, so basically everyone is sleeping under the same blanket. Doesn’t seem very hygienic to me.
Also the bed was very hard (even for Asian standards). My partner and I are both under 25 and had back pain the next morning.
The whole hotel and also the room was very humid, smelled like cigarettes/cigar and you can’t open any windows, not even partially.
Otherwise it does look like the pictures and the rest of the room/bath was clean except for the smell and probably the bed. Also the location is very convenient.
If I wanted to visit macau again I would probably get a hotel in Zhuhai (mainland china) which is less expensive and locals told us there is a 24h border control and the whole process only takes about 10min.
WWa lui🌟 Macau Yifu Hotel | Perfect Location, Great Service, Clean & Comfy, Amazing Value!
Came to Macau for a business trip + exploring, and choosing Yifu was absolutely the right call!
📍 **Location is 10/10:** It's an 8-minute walk to St. Paul's Ruins, and there's a bus stop right downstairs, making it super convenient to get to Rua do Cunha and Ponte 16. There are tons of convenience stores and local eateries nearby, so no detours needed when you head out.
🛏 **Rooms are Clean & Comfy:** The entire place is neat and odor-free, the bedding is comfortable, and the branded orthopedic mattress offered an amazing sleep experience. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area with good water pressure; the toilet is a bit small but perfectly fine for women.
👩🏻💻 **Excellent Service:** The front desk staff are young and energetic, enthusiastically recommending routes throughout my stay. They offer thoughtful touches like complimentary same-day luggage storage and umbrellas during heavy rain, which made my stay very reassuring.
💡 **Bonus Points:** Each floor has a unique Five Elements design, the WiFi is stable, and the value for money is truly high for the Senado Square area. I'll definitely choose this hotel first when I come to Macau again!
Highly recommend for anyone visiting Macau for travel or business – you can't go wrong with this one!
GGaya MI stayed here for 3 nights; location is great close to bus stops and downtown area. The rooms are clean. However, the service here isn’t what you might read in the previous reviews. I changed my double room to a single one the last night and, there was no hot water the whole, in the beginning I didn’t understand when I just got in, only at night when I wanted to take shower I found it out. You know what I was told- please boil the kettle so you can take a shower on the phone because something in the basement is broken and I wasn’t notified beforehand of it when I moved in.
GGuest UserI was very satisfied with my stay at the Green Oasis Hotel during my trip to Macau. The room was spotless, and the bathroom was clean and odor-free. The front desk staff and other service personnel were patient and attentive, and communication was smooth. The hotel provides breakfast, which was very convenient. The location is great, close to the border gate, making travel easy. Overall, it offers good value for money, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Macau.
KKaikai10Although the room was small, it was well-arranged and efficiently utilized, so it didn't feel cramped at all. The shower room also felt spacious enough. Everything was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The surrounding area is also quite nice, but the main selling point is the superb location – it's just a 5-minute walk to the Inner Harbour Ferry Terminal and Senado Square, which is incredibly convenient. The staff were also absolutely top-notch. The value for money is excellent, and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Macau.
